Delightful, delicious creative takes on fresh seafood Our waiter, David, was knowledgeable on all the food selections and suggested the perfect B C wines to accompany our meal. Started with fabulous oysters and amazing crab cake; steelhead and halibut perfectly cooked roasted potatoes and vegetables three ways-puréed carrots, tiny diced zucchini perfectly cooked to slight tooth and roasted beets. We had a Pavola for dessert - meringue with lemon curd, whipped cream and berries in three forms; fresh, stewed and puréed. I was thrilled at the contrasting textures and flavors, delicate yet intriguing. A wonderful evening!

If in Vancouver you have to visit Joe Fortes. It's a fabulous building & the food and service is top notch. Outdoors on the rooftop is awesome, but inside is equally as beautiful. We had lunch & it was fantastic. A great Vancouver experience

Joe Fortes went above and beyond last night for my boyfriends birthday dinner! We’re from Vancouver but it was both of our first time there and wow, our server Johnny was funny, helpful, kind and accommodating, couldn’t have asked for a better server! The food was amazing and the portion sizes were great. Not only did they make a personalized birthday menu for my boyfriend which was a sweet gesture but we finished the night was a complimentary dessert from Johnny :) We will be back! I vote Joe Fortes 12/10!

This restaurant has a lot going for it. Tradition. Atmosphere. Nice space. Location. Unfortunately, food is really lacking, which is sad. Wish the place would invest in a top notch chef to up the food game to the level it should be in honor of Mr. Fortes.

A bit disappointed with the food, food was cold and tasteless. Had the filet steak with potato pavee (which is like scalloped potatoes) really dry and cold, no flavour. Steak was bland with a curry tasting butter on top. I think Joe Fortes is over priced and the quality is just not there. I would only return for the Oysters during happy hour. Service was good and very accommodating to make things better.

Disappointingly not up to the usual high standards we have come to expect at Joe’s Vancouver. Food flavour was decent but not outstanding. Service was top notch but prices have gone crazy making the a poor value equation.

Gordon was our server and did an excellent job with recommendations and also keeping my water glass full (which I always appreciate). It was concert night in Vancouver so 330pm was the latest reservation we could get. Best experience! My salmon was delicious with potatoes and beets and my friend thoroughly enjoyed the Poke Bowl. I may have also had chocolate cake (called Chocolate Sun 😂). Amazing!!!!

We ate on the rooftop deck which is stunning. The service was great and the details wishing my Dad a happy 80th on the menu was a delightful and thoughtful touch. The food is very over priced, however. $27 for a single crab cake is excessive. The daily trio was $62 and the salmon was very basic and the tuna was over-seasoned. In addition, the yellow potatoes were undercooked.

My son brought me out for dinner while in Vancouver and I have to say - everything was superb. We had reservations and were brought in on time, no waiting. Staff was incredibly attentive and polite, pre-anticipating every need we had. Food was excellent and cooked to perfection. Drinks were prompt. We’ll be back next time we’re in town for the dessert we were too full to order this time!
