Food is pretty bad. Most of it is fried, and what isn't fried is bathed in salt or soy sauce. Could finish my salad - how do you mess up a salad??? Host staff is largely unhelpful. We tried to move to a quieter table but were told there were none. When we later pointed out an empty table, we were told we could not move because we had ordered drinks (lemonade). In short, except for the convenient location, avoid this place.

We arrived earlier than expected and they got us in without too much wait. The covered outdoor area was pleasantly sun dappled and breezy but not too exposed. Food was good yet we forgot to request a detail when ordering and our server was immediately accommodating getting us a freshly made plate. Super fast. So kind. Overall great experience.

usually we love it here but our service was so slow. had a reservation, sat down and didn't get water for 15 mins, and then didn't get bread at all. food and drinks were delicious as always though!

Great service, not great food. Not even good food. Ordered benedict eggs, which seem like a restaurant specialty since they have four versions on the menu, but they came as hard boiled eggs. They brought me new ones which were underdone. Burger ordered medium rare came out medium well. Won’t go back. Too many better spots. Pass.

After sending back a chicken Caesar salad as the meat looked pink , I watched the remake sit on the counter for over 8 minutes. The server was in the kitchen area. I’m not sure why the salad sat rather than be served especially since the rest of us had our food and were just about done eating. Once the remade salad was finally served, there was a hair in it. Super dissatisfied with this restaurant and will not return. There are plenty of brunch spots on Newbury Street to eat at in the future.

Right on Newbury. Al Fresco. Excellent quality food. BEST LOBSTAH ROLL I’ve ever had. (Annual trips to Boston) Fresh Seafood platter. Delicious. Highly recommend. Pleasantly-surprised!!!

Oysters very good, fresh. So was the rest of the dinner - pork loin masala with meatballs was particularly good. We hit the restaurant on a very slow night and opted to sit in the near empty enclosed patio thus it was quiet (as the volume of music inside was at an 11 for no apparent reason). Service was attentive and friendly.

We had been to another location of Joe’s which was consistently decent so we thought we knew what to expect. Went for brunch and my only advice is DON’T. If you can’t make a basic omelet and pancakes edible then you’re not even trying. We were a party of 5 at 10:15am so the restaurant was still quiet. No one ate more than half of their meal. The waitress was attentive and very nice but hard to overlook the bad food

We enjoyed our lunch at Joes, but it was a little bit loud. We had to wait a bit for a table. Our server was very attentive, and we generally had a good lunch. Definitely a good place to stop when shopping on Newbury Street

We chose Joe’s because of the large number of positive reviews we had read. We were placed at the table closest to the door. We were bumped into by patrons trying to get to the bar. We were cold from the door opening constantly, and it was LOUD. Our server was pleasant and did a fine job but we had to ask for water more than once and had to ask for our bill again. She was obviously very busy. We ordered calamari which was actually a mix of it and peppers. It also had a huge amount of pepper flakes on it and was quite spicy. Would not ever order again. For entrees, my son and I both ordered shrimp scampi. It was also very spicy. Not like any scampi I have ever had. I’m not sure it was also red pepper flakes or what, but I couldn’t eat much. In addition, my son pointed out after we left that the pasta was over cooked. I’m glad we went only because we now know we weren’t missing out on anything special.
