John for Johnathan ... and Michael for Michael. What better than the first name of his two sons for creating a second restaurant, John Michael 's Pub! One is good, two is better. Indeed, Gio Trattoria Italian restaurant close by is the family. Well worth a visit, in fact it is just off of here! At the heart of Place Jacques -Cartier, John Michael 's Pub offers a casual, simple and fresh food menu of refreshing drinks, and of course ... beer. We are a pub after all! The ideal place to enjoy the festivities of Old Montreal. We await you dear friends and dear friends!

                                                                                Great for what it is. While it will not impress your date and the prices are a bit high for a pub, the food, service, music, location are all excellent. We were greeted with a smile and had a lovely waitress.

                                                                                Best onion soup I've ever had. The waiter was extremely pleasant. Great atmosphere for a pub/sports bar. Pricey but given the location that's expected.

                                                                                It was just alright for me. Had the smoked meat sandwich. Bread was cold and dry... Not warm and soft just the way a smoked meat sandwich should be. For price, kind of a huge money grab. Service was ok. Not amazing, bit bad, just basically ok. The whole atmosphere and service felt bland. Nothing extravagant, nothing impressive of a place. Not sure I'll be back...

                                                                                Honestly, this place was unexpectedly the best dinner we had while we were in Montreal. We left a very popular restaurant down the street after waiting in line for 1.5 hours, then another 30 minutes of our waiter ignoring us. At this place, we were seated immediately and treated with respectful service. Our order was taken quickly and it came out from the kitchen efficiently too. This was legitimately the best poutine we tried - and we tried a lot. All of our food was good, as was the drinks. If we had one more night in Montreal, we would’ve returned to this place for another dinner. Highly recommend.
