We did afternoon tea and the food was phenomenal. Not a traditional tea, no little sandwiches. Each small bite was unique and delicious. We even got 2 teas, one for savory and one for sweet. Service was amazing. We felt welcomed and treated. Thank you

I brought my best friend for a special birthday for afternoon tea and was blown away by the service and the food in this beautiful space. You truly made us feel welcome, not rushed for a moment, and so special. Thank you.

The afternoon tea was an absolute swindle. Instead of traditional finger sandwiches, scones and treats they served what they refer to as "savouries" and "sweets". This would be an interesting take on afternoon tea if the food wasn't so awful. Clearly all the thought went into the presentation of the various sweet and savory bites and not to actually making them taste edible. My daughter and I regularly try out afternoon tea throughout the city and anytime we travel, and this was by far the absolute worst of any ever, all for the small price of $250. Do not recommend!

Where do I start? The mistake was doing the tasting menu, which I’ll get to. Joni is located at the Hyatt and while there are many great hotel restaurants, this is not one of them. The vibe is airport lounge; open air with no ambience and guests walking past. Coat check was not offered despite other tables who we saw leaving getting their coats. Not a biggie but try to be consistent. The place wasn’t busy but it took 15 to get a cocktail which arrived at the same time as our first course and the wine pairing. Service in general was good but that’s in comparison to hotels; it was fair vs high end restaurants . Sommelier tried his best but it didn’t feel like the menu and wine were truly paired; they were also not that nice and did not really complement the foods. Servers dropped off dishes and rushed the explanation and there was a language gap; just a reminder that we had a tasting menu so if staff are on par with an olive garden the appeal is lost. Food was middle or the road; I’ve had similar quality at cocktail parties. Lobster was rubbery, ravioli was so salty and the truffles added no flavour. Fish dish tasty fishy like it had been sitting around. Walked out of there paying $550 and wishing I’d gone to basically any other restaurant. Alo is only marginally more and is 10x better for a tasting menu but in my mind a place like Joni’s doesn’t have the ability to pull of a tasting menu and should stop. Our take away from the even is that the failure was a sum of its parts; nothing was great but there were enough issues with the main being the food. If it was up to snuff I could forgive the other failings but as it was so poor it highlighted all the other shortfalls. Do not go here for the tasting menu!

Food was just ok. Coffee (espresso) was not good. Service was, with exception of the very welcome host who greeted us, indifferent. It wasn’t busy at all.

My wife and I enjoyed the tasting menu in celebration of our wedding anniversary. The tasting menu was incredible. Very creative and delicious. Everyone on staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We look forward to dining there again.

There are no words to describe the scrumptious pastries (both savoury and sweet) and the lovely staff. Best afternoon tea in the world, better than the Savoy in London, England. There's no place like this.

Food was excellent! We had the mushroom soup, tuna tartare, chicken, and salmon. Exceptional! The seating by the bar on the leather couches was a nice change from individual seating and great for a couple to sit beside one another comfortably and intimate. Service was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. We will be back!

The server gave me the wrong meal, I asked for the salmon and got the peameal bacon. She also seemed annoyed when I asked for milk and sweetner to accompany my coffee that she brought out black. Most servers ask in advance what you like to accompany your coffee so it comes ready with it. I expected better for a breakfast place in the Hyatt.

We had a dinner reservation for 6 p.m. Got there at 5 and sat to the bar for a cocktail. Pleasant chatting with bartender Andre. At 6 Hostess Suzy seated us at a table of our choice. My husband and I enjoyed a 5 course tasting menu with Ontario wine pairing. The reason we chose Wednesday night was for the live music. The outstanding food/wine, enjoyable music with Sandra and Mike along with spectacular service from Akil and the restaurant ambiance made for a magical evening. An anniversary to remember:)

Had the Brunch experience. My guests had salad and steak and eggs and they enjoyed the meal. I enjoyed the oatmeal. I've always enjoyed many good meals and great service here and will return again. The servers are very gracious and attentive.
