Such a terrible experience. Our reservation was for 6 people at 3:00 on Father's Day, as I was driving there at 2:30, I get a phone call stating that there was a mistake and that they weren't taking reservations - I said I received both a text and email and I have people meeting me there at 3:00, she said sorry, we tried to block out the Open Table for Father's Day and somehow you got in and got a reservation. I then asked well how long is the wait for 6 people, she said 20-30 minutes. I drove right there, got there at 2:40 to put my name in since my reservation was cancelled and the place is EMPTY. There was no wait at all. So frustrating. The food was very subpar, asked for my meat to be cooked med-well, it came out rare, had to send it back. Chicken was very fatty. Asked for brown rice, got white rice - just not a good experience and I will not be back.

This was my first time at Kabuki in Brea. I have been to one other Kabuki in Santa Clarita. The menu in Santa Clarita had many more Izakaya items which I enjoy (being of Japanese descent). This was one reason I gave a 3 Star rating under food. The other reason was that I felt I had a Korean food experience not a Japanese food experience (at a Japanese restaurant). From the rice to the flavor of the sukiyaki to the tempura batter and even the tempura dipping sauce, the items did not taste like a Japanese chef had made them.

When we arrived they stated that my reservation was not valid because they stopped taking them at 6:20 yet I still received a confirmation. Then I complained and they said ok we will find a table and made me wait over 20 min and that section was empty when we got there so no idea why it took so long to seat us. We were a big group and spent a lot of money and they acted as if they were doing us a favor? Never going back there again

Used to frequent kabuki. Suppose it’s different location by location. This place was an unpleasant experience. Had a server who didn’t smile once. And sashimi was cut in like large cubes. That’s not how Sashimi is supposed to be served. I almost asked for a fork and knife. Not to mention the rolls that can’t be eaten in one bite - again, if sushi chefs from Japan saw that they’d spit on it. Perhaps last time I go to kabuki.

Normally one of our favorite places to go, but this time was a step backward. One meal was 15 minutes late, pork belly soup was full of black char powder from overcooked pork. Service was non-attentive. Very surprised by the negative experience.

Although they were very attentive and friendly, the food was horrible. The teriyaki chicken was dry and luke warm and my husband said his steak was not good at all.. they were great and took both my plate and my daughters off the bill, Howe it was very disappointing because we had been there before and it always tasted as the food was cooked to order not just sitting around in a warmer.

Met two friends for lunch before the theatre, and was so pleased to share this favorite with them. Great food, terrific selection to choose from, and we asked for help choosing a cold sake (my first time trying that) - the server was very knowledgeable and gave us both the flavor/character options as well as their price rating (low to high), AND recommended the LOWER end if we were first trying it (something that proved they were interested in reputation more than profit). They have sushi and tempura, sake, beer, cocktails (full bar, I think), patio seating in addition to tables and sushi bar inside. TONS of parking there. GREAT place!
