Food was decent. Calamari was over cooked and very fishy taste. Very chewy. The duck confit rice dish was good (defferent). Service was excellent. Need improvement on their menu though. Plus the menu is too small to read considering it is so dim in there. Very cold and noisy.
There was something in the karaage (chicken) that made our tongues extra sensitive (like burnt by hot liquid or mouth wash w/ alcohol).
The service at this restaurant was excellent. Our waitress Maha was so friendly and knew every delicious thing on the menu. We tried about 8 tapas and were overstuffed. What is lost in ambience, it is tucked into a corner of Cooksville, is more made up in taste, presentation amd staff. Plus they have like 6 kinds of sake from hot to sparkling. Loved this place. Definitely would recommend.
Yummy unique food and interesting cocktails. Need to go back to try some other dishes.

The food was amazing! Such detail which made the experience true and authentic. However, I would have liked to have seen more Peruvian highlights in the menu as more Japanese/Peruvian fusion. :)
A nice mix of Peruvian-Japanese fusion. I would say it leans a bit more on the Japanese side, but the Peruvian dishes were good (ceviche, etc). I would love to see more Peruvian ingredients (although understandably they are more difficult to acquire).
Unfortunately, both my company and I were quite disappointed with our dining experience at this restaurant. Not so sure if the main chef was missing or the management had changed when we visited, but things were not running smoothly and waiters were having hard times identifying the right table for each dish coming out of the kitchen (it's an open concept kitchen, so you can see exactly what's happening). Furthermore, the quality of dishes they served didn't match up to the price we paid. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
Loved it, a great night out and wished I knew about it sooner. Great food, nice servers ,and very reasonable for the quality. Looking forward to going back

Interesting fusion with Japanese and Peruvian cuisine however some of the dishes were bland. We had the slaw, scallops, carne (steak) and duck fried rice. Plates are meant to be shared as per our server and the food comes out staggered but our last dish took FOREVER to come and at that point we were full. Slaw was a sad take on versions we’ve had and lacked flavour. Scallops were good and had a great crunch on them. Steak was underwhelming and definitely didn’t look like the pictures on their Instagram; I also think they sliced it too thick. Duck fried rice was good but took WAY too long to come out and we had a upset stomach 45 minutes later (wondering if they rushed the rice when we inquired because some of the grains ere extremely HARD).
Overpriced for what it’s worth.
If you are in the Mississauga area, this is a great place to go to. It has a cool atmosphere, the menu is great, the servers are friendly and knowledgeable, and it is reasonably priced given the elevated menu.
Tried this restaurant out on a girls night out and had a fantastic night! The food was great, service was great and the ambience was great! Loved it and will definitely revisit again!
Was intrigued after reading so many great reviews but must agree with the less positive reviews. Over-priced for what you get. Advertised as Asian-Peruvian fusion but didn’t find the Peruvian influence to be overly prominent. Limited menu. Had the ceviche nikkei, could have used more lime juice and a bit more oomph but did taste fresh. Tataki de Carne was tender but not excellent. Scallops were cooked perfectly and the best dish ordered. Had high expectations for the Chaufa (fried rice with duck) after reading such strong reviews but was disappointed. While not horrible, it was not as described by some reviewers. Could not taste the duck or very much of the other ingredients. We make a rice dish at home where we ‘cook’ a raw egg by mixing into hot rice and some sauces. Tastes great and doesn’t cost anywhere near the price charged.
Although the restaurant does advertise parking at rear, most of the spots are numbered and looks to be designated for the apartment/condo dwellers, not public parking.
Service was enthusiastic, friendly, and satisfactory but not superior.
The food was high quality, innovative and fun! We loved the service and ownership of experience made by the team there. First visit - we will be back!

Expected more. Seems food portions were reduced compared to what was shown on yelp or beginning of restaurant opening.
The mushroom dish was much smaller. The pork belly skewers were tough. They must of directly grilled them , rather than taking time to Sous-vide or slow roast prior to grill.
The duck rice dish was excellent. Mixed drinks were also good.
However food was so so. Could have been much better if they taken time to prepare working with the same ingredients.
Our server was fantastic, he had great knowledge about the food, was kind and made our first experience at kage a great one

Kage Restobar is exactly what the Mississauga restaurant scene needs. Booked a reservation for my anniversary with my husband and we were really impressed the moment we walked in. Great decor, casual dining but with edge. 90s Hip Hop was on and the music just got better and better. The staff is phenomenal; friendly, informed and very attentive - what else could you ask for? We ordered the kage slaw, ceviche nikkei, berenjena, chaufa and cerdo (pork belly). Everything was well prepared, well presented and absolutely delicious. The biggest surprise was the berenjena (eggplant) - the flavour from this dish was unbelieveable. It was a delicious flavour-bomb!!! Thank you Kage Restobar for a really memorable night!
My husband and I seldom get to go out for dinner, so we were really excited. It did not disappoint. We loved the space, the service, the playlist, and the food was delicious. It’s fantastic to have a place like this right here in Mississauga. We’re already planning our next date!!
Went here on a Sunday evening to celebrate my Birthday. Overall it was a great experience. Each plate of food was its own delightful experience. The server was extremely helpful in recommending both food and drink. The salmon ceviche and the steak ceviche were both absolutely fantastic. Would definitely visit again!
The food was amazing! We had the beef tataki, pork belly, green papaya salad, shishito peppers, and cassava fries. Everything was so delicious except for the peppers. The basil smash drink was to die for. The lemongrass mojito was a bit of a let down. I was expecting more lemongrass taste. The 2 Japanese beer were real good.
Ambiance was great, it was quite empty tbh but it was fine with us! Music was great 90s rnb hip hop. Light was dim and romantic as well.
Great spot with an imaginative menu.
Happy Hour is also a bonus.

I found Kage Restobar while searching for a different type of restaurant to eat at. I was excited to see that it was a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian flavours. I like that the dishes were tapas style as we had the chance to taste a bit of everything. I cannot wait to go back and bring others!
Here is what we ordered:
Ceviche Nikkei: I think this is a perfect meal for summer. It was so fresh tasting. It had the right balance of acidity.
Ebi Mayo: A party in my mouth. This dish was sweet, spicy and crunchy. The textures and the flavours were perfect.
Pollo: I love the way this dish was presented, you’re just going to have to eat here to experience it. Two tender chicken skewers with a lovely bbq/smoked flavour.
Sesta Forrajera (Exoctica): I just love mushrooms and this dish showcases each of them well. Earthy and nutty.
Vieiras: Scallops are another favourite of mine and these were cooked to perfection. They were so buttery and melt in your mouth.
Nice food, good service but it is very noisy sometimes hard to hear the people sitting in front of you.
Food was great, service was top notch. We had the brunch menu and look forward to try the dinner menu on our next visit
Was too hot inside and washrooms were a sauna. we had a hair in the food but they quickly fixed that and covered the cost. Chicken sandwiches were kinda bland. The ebi mayo shrimps were by far the best thing not even close. Corn ribs were really good but need to be bigger theres nothing to bite into.
Food was excellent! It was at par to our expectations. Ceviche was fresh, tasty and the Cerdo Pork Belly was to die for! We love the fried rice and the chicken too. We will be back!

We were greeted by the staff and welcomed us. We took about 10 minutes to find the place because there was a sign but cannot be seen parking at the back does not also mention the restaurant's name. The place looks upbeat and a bit small. The food was good and sharing portions are decent...I was a bit let down by the Sea Bass platter, it was not seasoned well but presentation was amazing. I would recommend the shrimp Ebi mayo, the Scallops and the Kage Slaw. They are the perfect blend of textures, sight and taste...very high class. We came at the final game of Raptors so the vibe was very energetic! Over-all, good food, good service.
