About
Great food - and staff very friendly and helpful.
This place doesn’t disappoint. Great food. Surprising location. Usual server is excellent. This new one was ok but not the same. Overall great time with friends on a Thursday for buck a shuck.
The food had very interesting flavors, and the kitchen was showcasing a lot depth into the dish. The picks I choose were the Kage Ceviche, Beef tataki, and Truffle Fried Rice. Each dish really carried itself, but as I was dining by myself. I would like each dish to come out one by one. I would definitely recommend Kage pending the menu prices aligns with what shows in my bill.
Although the menu sounded interesting, the execution was far from satisfactory and the dishes we tried were average and did not meet expectations. The ceviche was not authentically Peruvian, octopus was tough, steak was chewy. Great service and nice ambiance but wouldn't recommend for food.
Nice restaurant. Good good. Good service. Will return
Great food, great service. Music was on point!
Every time we eat here, we are always impressed at the presentation and sheer deliciousness of whatever we order.
We discovered Kage shortly after it opened and have been parading our friends and family through this wonderful restaurant for special occasions ever since.
Food was tasty and unique. The beef short rib was tender and flavourful. The chilies gave it an unexpected flavour punch! The steak dish came out last (which seemed like a long wait), but was cooked to our liking and was Smokey, seasoned and beautifully presented. The waitress surprised us with a dessert similar to donut holes — which were fantastic. I definitely want to return to try their jaela mixta! Thanks for a great evening Kage staff!
Food was great! Service was also great! The restaurant is small and cozy, but gets busy. Id only say that we had a wobbly table which was distracting. And we were seated by the door so cold draft everytime someone entered. Other than that it was great.
ambience is nice, just don’t expect anything flashy.
location is convenient though.
food is very good and service is friendly and attentive. we really feel very well and go there more often
The pork belly was fantastic
To begin, this place has a beautiful interior decor. The cocktails are semi-creative, however very potent. For food, try the Yuca Fries, Salmon Tar Tar and Pollo Frito (popcorn chicken). The Truffle Chaufa is an amazing vegetarian option — it’s super delicious.
We have been here many times and each time the food and service are exceptional.
We had such a great time dining at Kage Restobar with friends. The food was incredibly delicious and surprisedly filling for tapas style menu. The restaurant decor design was so stylish and comfortable that the ambience was nothing short but good vibes only. We are look forward to coming back again:)
The food is excellent.
Easily one of the best restaurants in Mississauga.
To get this level of quality in food, I usually have to travel to Toronto!
Prices are very reasonable too!
Restaurant has a beautiful interior and the servers are friendly and attentive.
The Japanese/Spanish fusion is very unique and the dishes were all very original.
The black truffle fried rice and the gyukatsu sando were INCREDIBLE and definite must try!
Needless to say, I will be back to eat here more often!
Kate was delicious and there’s a little bit of everything for everyone. Share plates are awesome and I would love to see more North American restaurants move to this style of dining.
Love this restaurant! Been here a few times now and the food and service is always great. Food is Japanese-Peruvian fusion. My favourite dishes have to be the Ebi Mayo and Pata Chaufa. Service is friendly and attentive. I love the atmosphere - Definitely has a cool downtown vibe which is a great addition to the suburbs. Great date night restaurant. I would definitely recommend to give this a try!
Amazing food and great ambiance! Great place for drinks
The food was INCREDIBLE! You gotta eat here. Love the place
Unique food and the server was very knowledgeable
Mississauga's hidden gem. Japanese Peruvian restaurant with amazing selections of food and drinks
Food was decent. Calamari was over cooked and very fishy taste. Very chewy. The duck confit rice dish was good (defferent). Service was excellent. Need improvement on their menu though. Plus the menu is too small to read considering it is so dim in there. Very cold and noisy.
There was something in the karaage (chicken) that made our tongues extra sensitive (like burnt by hot liquid or mouth wash w/ alcohol).
The service at this restaurant was excellent. Our waitress Maha was so friendly and knew every delicious thing on the menu. We tried about 8 tapas and were overstuffed. What is lost in ambience, it is tucked into a corner of Cooksville, is more made up in taste, presentation amd staff. Plus they have like 6 kinds of sake from hot to sparkling. Loved this place. Definitely would recommend.
Yummy unique food and interesting cocktails. Need to go back to try some other dishes.
Really good food. Creative dishes , nice cocktails. Service was amazing
Gem in the middle of Mississauga
I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be going back
The food was exceptional and unique. The people serving us were very kind. Great place for a date!
The setting is beautiful, the food was delicious and the staff were incredible. Zero complaints. This place is a gem!
The food was amazing! Such detail which made the experience true and authentic. However, I would have liked to have seen more Peruvian highlights in the menu as more Japanese/Peruvian fusion. :)
A nice mix of Peruvian-Japanese fusion. I would say it leans a bit more on the Japanese side, but the Peruvian dishes were good (ceviche, etc). I would love to see more Peruvian ingredients (although understandably they are more difficult to acquire).
Unfortunately, both my company and I were quite disappointed with our dining experience at this restaurant. Not so sure if the main chef was missing or the management had changed when we visited, but things were not running smoothly and waiters were having hard times identifying the right table for each dish coming out of the kitchen (it's an open concept kitchen, so you can see exactly what's happening). Furthermore, the quality of dishes they served didn't match up to the price we paid. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
Loved it, a great night out and wished I knew about it sooner. Great food, nice servers ,and very reasonable for the quality. Looking forward to going back
Food is amazing! Service is great! There will be a fourth time visit for sure.
My new favourite restaurant in Cooksville! Food is amazing!
Interesting fusion with Japanese and Peruvian cuisine however some of the dishes were bland. We had the slaw, scallops, carne (steak) and duck fried rice. Plates are meant to be shared as per our server and the food comes out staggered but our last dish took FOREVER to come and at that point we were full. Slaw was a sad take on versions we’ve had and lacked flavour. Scallops were good and had a great crunch on them. Steak was underwhelming and definitely didn’t look like the pictures on their Instagram; I also think they sliced it too thick. Duck fried rice was good but took WAY too long to come out and we had a upset stomach 45 minutes later (wondering if they rushed the rice when we inquired because some of the grains ere extremely HARD).
Overpriced for what it’s worth.
If you are in the Mississauga area, this is a great place to go to. It has a cool atmosphere, the menu is great, the servers are friendly and knowledgeable, and it is reasonably priced given the elevated menu.
Tried this restaurant out on a girls night out and had a fantastic night! The food was great, service was great and the ambience was great! Loved it and will definitely revisit again!
Was intrigued after reading so many great reviews but must agree with the less positive reviews. Over-priced for what you get. Advertised as Asian-Peruvian fusion but didn’t find the Peruvian influence to be overly prominent. Limited menu. Had the ceviche nikkei, could have used more lime juice and a bit more oomph but did taste fresh. Tataki de Carne was tender but not excellent. Scallops were cooked perfectly and the best dish ordered. Had high expectations for the Chaufa (fried rice with duck) after reading such strong reviews but was disappointed. While not horrible, it was not as described by some reviewers. Could not taste the duck or very much of the other ingredients. We make a rice dish at home where we ‘cook’ a raw egg by mixing into hot rice and some sauces. Tastes great and doesn’t cost anywhere near the price charged.
Although the restaurant does advertise parking at rear, most of the spots are numbered and looks to be designated for the apartment/condo dwellers, not public parking.
Service was enthusiastic, friendly, and satisfactory but not superior.
