We were greeted by the staff and welcomed us. We took about 10 minutes to find the place because there was a sign but cannot be seen parking at the back does not also mention the restaurant's name. The place looks upbeat and a bit small. The food was good and sharing portions are decent...I was a bit let down by the Sea Bass platter, it was not seasoned well but presentation was amazing. I would recommend the shrimp Ebi mayo, the Scallops and the Kage Slaw. They are the perfect blend of textures, sight and taste...very high class. We came at the final game of Raptors so the vibe was very energetic! Over-all, good food, good service.

The food at Kage Restobar was outstanding. We had the octopus, duck confit rice , pork spare ribs and the cassava chips. All were extremely tasty and just cooked to perfection. I just found the dishes were quite small for sharing but everyone had to try them.
My only complaint was the drink my husband ordered from the bar. He had a caesar and the server asked if he had a preference for the vodka. Well the caesar was already $9 but with the addition of a shot of Grey goose it came to $18 (this is for a single drink)! I was shocked. I think we should have been informed of the additional charge for the Grey Goose.

Awesome food with awesome service! Food came quick, server guided us with the menu as it was our first time there and recommended food for us. Food is insanely fresh, unique in flavours, and all delicious! Flavours you cant find anywhere else! SO GOOD! Definitely coming back again to explore the rest of the menu.

Limited menu items but what they have is great. In particular the salmon sashimi which is served with wasabi oil, fantastic, my favourite. Definitely worth a try.

i think if you are going to have a peruvian - japanese restaurant, you need to have a certain knowledge of peruvian cuisine, have peruvian pisco at least and not chilean "pisco" as that is an insult to any peruvian, you really need to know what is huancaina sauce, your portion of ceviche has to be a little more, have more fish and less sweet potato. but aside from that it was very good, the anticuchos were delicious, the chaufa was very good and the blueberry sour was excellent, the service was great and friendly. but don't advertise a peruvian japanese if you know nothing about peru.

My 80 year old widowed neighbor told me about Kage. She said it was a hip place to eat with delicious food and an eclectic menu. She was right. A menu loaded with unusual dishes and a lot of variety.

We had the pork belly on skewers, duck rice, karaage fried chicken and sesta forrajera mushrooms. The food is very good, perfectly seasoned and flavourful. Notwithstanding the opinions of other reviews I thought the chicken was the weakest dish, although not bad, and the duck rice was the best.

The waitstaff are friendly, attentive and very helpful in explaining the menu. This is more restaurant than bar although there is ample seating at high tops and the bar.

I highly recommend a visit.

I'll definitely be back. Amazing food, great service. The quinoa risotto and octopus was phenomenal. The pork belly decadent. And the beef rib was next level!

Food was mediocre, some dishes like the pork belly and beef heart skewers lacked flavour. The karaage chicken was pretty good but a bit greasy with the large amount of batter. The duck fried rice was great and flavourful. Service was excellent though and the dishes came out promptly. Our server checked up on us multiple times throughout our meal and made sure our waters were filled and that everything was okay which was great. Overall not bad, the food was alright but everything else was good.

We were gladly surprised at this restaurant. We found it online and decided based on the reviews to give it a try. We were not disappointed at all! The taste of the food was amazing and the service was great. Our waitress (sorry I am terrible at remembering names😌) was really good and very attentive to our needs. One of my orders was a bit cold and she immediately replaced it and took it off our bill, which was a real nice gesture. The replacement order arrived promptly and hot!!
The only reason we didn’t give it full stars is because the ceviche order while delicious in taste was a little scarce on fish.
Our favourite by far was the salmon sashimi. We will go back just to have more of it. A lot more...

Be aware that a satisfactory meal and drinks for 2 can end up being over $100.

The food and service were excellent. Our server was amazing - she was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was delicious, fresh and unique. The portions were a tad small for the price especially considering the location of the restaurant. Overall it was a great experience especially for this area.

Great restaurant, fantastic service. Peruvian and Japanese fusion is something very new and interesting, and we don't eat tapas style often so it's definitely a different experience. Food was very good but a little bit heavy on the spices and flavour was strong for my taste. I recommend the pork belly skewers and the fried shrimp, these were delicious. The dishes are small over all, and on the pricier side. We ordered one dish from each section so about 6 or 7 dishes, we were full after but we don't generally eat a lot, so for people who are used to big serving you might need to order more food.

Kage was bustling when we got there 15 mins late for our reservation. They excused our delay and seated us right away. For which I am super grateful. While they took our drinks order early on, due to the large volume of patrons the hot sake we ordered came towards the middle of our food. Which they acknowledged several times, which was great service. The food was extremely flavorful and interesting. The cocktail I ordered was spot on. We ordered short ribs for our main which was cooked great, although I have already eyed out the Peruvian stew for next time. The tapas were a really great way to get to try a variety of flavours. We really enjoyed the karaage, pork belly sandwich and yuka fries (honestly everyone has to try this least once). We ordered the black sesame ice cream which was ridiculously good. The staff were extremely energetic and friendly. We really enjoyed this chef's creative idea of fusion cuisine. We can't wait to go back again. Maybe next weekend 😀

We had an amazing server who helped explain anything we weren't sure of. It's a Peruvian Japanese tapas house, the food is delicious. Each dish we had was tasty, cooked well, and came out just when we needed it next. Cocktails were great! I'd recommend the blueberry sour. Wine seemed slightly overpriced but paired lovely with dinner and the meal was much cheaper than expected. Really worth the value. Parking was a little confusing but you just have to find and read the signs.

Great cocktail list! We had a basil smash and ginger pisco sour....both were great! We had a variety of dishes. The kage ceviche was very good. Yuka fritos amazing. The duck fried rice was recommended to us and it was incredible! We will certainly be back!

This is the second time I went to Kage. Food was not consistent with the first time. The first time the food was exceptional tasting. This time it was good but missing the savouriness from the first time. Service was friendly both times but not enough attention to detail. Made a mistake with orders both times.

Went for my girlfriends birthday. Service was great, described each dish as they served it. Each dish we had was delicious and everything they recommended that was good did not disappoint. The only thing that put them out of place was the area that they are located. I’m sure if it was somewhere different more people would come. Plus the parking was in the back and very small.
Thanks for making her bday dinner a special one :)

Food was of smaller portions (even the main dishes) than expected- more like tapas. The restaurant was very hard to find because the sign was too dark (it was nighttime when we went). Would recommend a brighter coloured sign like white lettering so customers can find it easily. However customer service was excellent and ambiance was nice for a quiet dinner.
