Ordered the scallops, not available. Noise level, off the charts. Second choice, filet. Ordered medium rare, it was medium to medium well. Was offered another filet but declined because my husband was almost finished with his meal. Then offered free dessert for both of us but we we're done! Our server, Mike, was great and felt very bad for us because this was an anniversary dinner.

Birthday Ordered seafood platter, oysters and shrimp were fresh and delicious, but crab was old and dried out. Our son had grilled fish and it was spicy, he could not eat it. Why would you serve kids food that spicy

For shame, our 20th anniversary with reservations made over 2 months in advance. Never having been at the restaurant, I reserved for 6:00p knowing sunset was set for 6:46p. My wife and I arrived early, sat upstairs at the bar and got a chance to absorb the beautiful scenery this amazing hotel has to offer. Unfortunately, that would be our last up front point of view. As I was concerned about the reservation overall, I went downstairs around 5:45p to make sure all was well. To my surprise there was only one window table available of 6 total (I think). Some were 4 tops and some were 2 tops and then there were booth set ups opposite them facing out to the sunset. So I approached the hostess who was so happy to see me and said how she Loved anniversaries, thought for sure she would save the last 2 top for us just 15 minutes later. As I was walking out she sat a random couple right in front of me. Then it turned out they had done something special for another couple celebrating their anniversary with seldom used outdoor seating...oh joy, I was so unhappy. Then, on top of everything else, they had to write off the chicken dish my wife ordered as they must have forgotten about us and our meal...so dry and tough. Overall, one of the worst experiences of our trip, having felt overlooked and under-served. Oh...forgot to mention, of the 5 tables that must have been seated right when the restaurant opened at 5:30p, 3 of them had children. This is intended to be a fine dining restaurant and the hostess just hands out the one precious item on the menu, the view. Nothing special offered, no desert, no drink....no nothing, just wrote off the chicken and likely surprised we paid at all. I even tipped out the water at 20% feeling sorry knowing it wasn't his fault. Anyway, I hope someone from the restaurant reads this...it was a random Thursday night to you, but Pi Day was my 20th anniversary which will now live on in infamy. Thanks for the memories. Robert

Dessert was cold inside & burned outside. Waiter did not fill wine glasses as needed during the meal or offer adjustment for failed dessert.

The food was good but I would agree over priced. The wait staff were lovely and the location is a large draw, but the food did not justify the prices.

The bone in ribeye was great, but everything else we had to eat was overpriced for what it was. The linguine was under cooked and we were pretty positive the lobster mashed potatoes were from a box. Great view though!

Disappointed that very few of the online menu items were still offered! It doesn’t take much to update a website. An updated menu is just being kind to prospective customers. Why would you want to disappoint them before they have tasted anything that you serve?

The location of Kauai Grill was fantastic with a great sunset view from our booth table. The food was great, especially the scallops and Mahi-Mahi entrees. Service was very good.

Food was good but portions were pretty small which decreased the value to price ratio. Wine was $19 a glass for average $12/ bottle wine, bought it anyway. View was stunning, decor, service and atmosphere were great. Glad we did it but probably would choose another option next time.

We were saving this Restaurant for
A Very Special Occasion- Our Anniversary. We were under the impression that the Kauai Grill as St. Regis was an Elegant Hideaway with beautiful views & delicious cuisine.
Wow - I can Not put into words how disappointed we were.
The server 'sold us' on the Valentines Tasting menu'. I believe 'TASTELESS' menu is a more accurate description. The Bison Sparerib (or whatever they referred to it as) tasted like a dried piece of animal hide. The other items were not any better. Small bland portions at a huge price. I took the time to write this review in hopes of saving others from a bad memory of their Special 💓 Day. Enjoy Kauai- take in the Amazing views at the St. Regis & then enjoy your Dinner at one of the many wonderful restaurants on the island.

This restaurant has been our "go to" place for special occasions. This evening was to celebrate my birthday.
The hotel has changed hands and there are many changes, not necessarily good ones.

We did not really enjoy the new menu although we had several favorites on the old menu. We ended up with an appetizers that was not on the menu but delicious, wagyu potstickers. But we almost left as none of the entrees really were interesting to us. I ended up with the lobster, which was good not great. My husband got the catch of the day that was nothing special. The dessert menu was so uninspired that we decided to skip dessert, ON MY BIRTHDAY! Very disappointing experience.

Frank, our server, was wonderful.

The locked bathrooms in the restaurant was a weird situation, especially as I stood there 10 minutes, in full sight, waiting for what I thought was an occupied bathroom. Finally, when I asked, the staff said, "oh yeah, out of order, go upstairs". I just wanted to wash my hands so they gave me hand sanitizer and never notified me that the bathrooms were fixed so I assume they were not. it turns out I had an allergic reaction to the hand sanitizer so that was a big situation. Very weird for a luxury hotel!

Went to Kauai grill for my wife's birthday. We both ordered the tasting menu without wine pairings. Including the amuse we had 6 courses: chilled lobster, foie gras, opakapaka, duck breast, and a chocalate desert. Every course was delicious except the desert. The deserts could use a little work to compare to the the rest of the menu. The portion sizes were big, especially for a tasting dinner. The service was fantastic. One of the waiters actually asked if he could take pictures for us and brought us outside on the terrace. We definitely plan on returning to the kauai grill!

We shared ginger rice to go with it. I had a wonderful sweet potato soup to start We shared a bottle of Chardonnay.
The focaccia bread was also very good. Everyone was very friendly and nice.

We dined here for our anniversary, we enjoyed the attention to detail and stealth like service provided by our server Dusty. The food was cooked to perfection which it should be at this price point! Please keep in mind that the price point is very high but this is high end dining in location, location, location. We would definitely dine here again!

This is an upscale restaurant with mediocre service and a non existing dress code. Baseball caps worn backwards and shorts seem to be the norm and acceptable to management for dinner.
