Kaytoo Restaurant and Bar
I was very grateful for being given a nice window/view seat of the village and mountains for my family of 5 for dinner on January 18th. I had requested this kind of table with my online reservation. That was great. Our waiter was fun, attentive and knowledgeable. However, the food for my wife and I was quite disappointing. Everything from our calamari appetizer to our chicken with mac & cheese and vegetables entrees had the same, spicy mayonnaise sauce drizzled on it (every single item). Every item tasted like a Tim Hortons spicy chicken wrap! The kids (13, 13, 16) didn't finish their buger, steak or jerk chicken. I might return for the nightclub atmosphere (and what looked like it would be a great summer patio location) but not for dinner again. I was hoping for an 8-9/10 family apres ski dinner experience but just can't give it more than a 5/10.
The food was cold & burnt.
Our server was extremely slow and uninterested.
We asked her to come take our food order by 10:45 pm as kitchen was going to close at 11. But she showed up after 11 and said sorry the kitchen is closed. And we left after eating appetizers only.
So overall experience was bad.
Had a great time and will be back! Food was great! Service was attentive! Ambiance was exciting! Great spot to go at Blue Mountain!
In for a late dinner after coming off the hill.. gave us a heads up that the place gets pretty rowdy after 10pm as it turns more into a bar/nightclub, but we knew that coming in so all good! That's why we booked late.. dinner turns into the club and we are already there! Food was great, as always, and the service even better. Kaytoo has always been pretty good but it feels like they are stepping up their game! Sophie took amazing care of us and Kail and Chris are great at the door (sorry guys, I always get you two mixed up.. must be the beards). See you all next time we are up!
Wonderful experience. The service was excellent, food was delicious, friendly staff, great atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
We hadn’t been to Kaytoo in a many years; it used to be a typical blue mountain village place = overpriced and poor quality for tourists who would likely never be back - went back as they had open reservations; the kids eat free was also a draw (but read the fine print). The service was for majority of time very good and the manager checked in during the meal, a nice customer service touch. Majority of dishes were ok and were not as overpriced as I remembered (most around $15-25); kids meals were well received and two of three ended up being free; which was excellent. The service was great up until near the end when our server seemed to disappear for an extended time. Overall I thought it was much better than last time we went and the cost was more reasonable, but still not great food and room for improvement.
My boyfriend and I had an awesome date night here ! Our server was incredibly knowledgable about the menu as well as quite helpful in telling us about the nearby attractions. When they say "comfort food", they really meant it! My boyfriend had the stampeder and I had the butter chicken, both were delicious and we can't wait to try out the rest of the menu ! Safe to say we found our new regular spot :)
My app was way over cooked and the burger I ordered was way over priced for what it came with. Music was playing but barely heard it and server forgot to bring drinks a handful of times.
Great experience from start to finish. Food is above average for pub style with some standout items. Ghost Pepper pasta is definitely a must for spice lovers. Service was exceptionally attentive and very prompt.
too expensive for the amount of food you get
you should check and see the amt. of food needed if you ski. need two order 2 entrees
The stir-fry veggie rice with teriyaki sauce was good. The portion for the bbq ribs was good. The ribs were very tender, but they could be baked/roasted/bbq'ed a little longer time to give it more 'bbq-burnt' taste.
The bartender was absolutely incredible. She had a great sense of humour and made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant (which we weren't). Definitely recommended! Thanks to Heather, we will be there again very, very soon!
I had requested a table by the window and Heather made it happen! Props to you Heather
The food is amazing and the staff is amazing. Makes for an awesome experience!
Good food, nice atmosphere. I brought some friends from out of town and they enjoyed their time at the restaurant. Great Bellinis!! Jason, our server, was very helpful and friendly. I will definitely be back.
Had a great dinner with friends! Our server, Sam, was on point from the moment we walked in and was attentive throughout.. Our food came out hot and very tasty! The Butter Chicken was as good as any I have ever had! We will definitely be back!
Had A great experience at Kaytoo for a business lunch. The bison burger was amazing. The server was very attentive but not overbearing as we were have a meeting. I definitely recommend this restaurant, has a very cool interior too.
Winter was not attentive and super grumpy. Only had two white wines on the menu and was sold out of the best one. Food came out room temperature and our waiter never even checked on us after he delivered the food so we could tell him.
One of the worst restaurant service experiences and we will definitely not return.
Very charming looking on the outside and that's where it all ends. Inside has no ambience at all. Very bright lights and nothing to look at. The bison burgers were disgusting - overcooked and very dry. The salad had the dressing on the bottom of the bowl which we didn't discover until we were almost done eating it. The fish on the fish and chips was very dark brown - almost burnt - and was definitely overcooked. Chips were okay. None of the staff seemed cheery. Several complained to us that 60 people had just come in. Isn't that what dinner hour is all about? Its not that we were complaining about service or wait for the food but they wanted to tell us about the 60 people. Guess it should be obvious to us in advance why the other restaurants were all booked solid between 6 and 9. We frequent Blue Mountains a lot but won't be back to Kaytoo.
Was seated upstairs. The heat was unbearable. The chairs were dirty and we needed to dust them off before sitting. Downstairs was way nicer and not a sauna.
No one to greet us when we walked in. Made eye contact with the 2 bartenders a few times but they didn't care.
Waited a long time until one of the bartenders finally decided to ask us how he could help us. I let him know about my reservation which I asked if I could move earlier. He said it was fine and we could take a seat anywhere. I was later notified by OpenTable that they marked me as a "no show." It just seemed very disorganized.
This was a wonderful experience for my colleagues and I. Our business meeting was able to be conducted without interruption, the service was great, and our waiter Connor was excellent! We will definitely be back in the future for both personal and business.
Jason our server was fantastic. Excellent service and great food
Great patio, but food was disappointing!
Kids Mac and Cheese was actual KD from a box according to the waitress. Not impressed
Thank you for choosing Kaytoo and letting us know about your visit. While happy to hear you enjoyed the patio, it is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your dining experience. Any additional details would be appreciated so we may improve our overall guest satisfaction. On the KD, while it does arrive in a box, it is real foodservice grade Kraft Dinner. Our own "Mac and Cheese" had many complaints direct from the kids! They wanted "KD", so we changed to exactly that! Happy Kids=Happy Parents!
Our hostess, waiter, bartender, and I am going to assume the manager were all amazing!!!
I went on my bachelorette and would definitely recommend this place to anyone going.
I am a vegetarian and the food was on point
Calamari was excellent! Great service! Would recommend this restaurant.
Great service. Our server was very friendly and delivered on our special requests; even treated us to free dessert for our anniversary. No specials advertised. The jambalaya was good, but disappointed no sides came with it (salad would be nice) and presentation was poor - just dumped on a plate and no meat on the crayfish at all. Hubby had the pulled pork sandwich and it was OK - not very juicy and very small. Fries were great - skin on and deep fried to perfection. Beer glass was chipped. Outdoor deck overlooking water offered a lovely view but could use more florals and perhaps a power washing, especially to get all the spider webs. Overall, 3 stars out of 5 for this restaurant based on outstanding service.
Food was good, service wasn't the best. Had to ask for cutlery, didn't get the right change back... no one checked in to see if we needed anything - just kind of forgotten in the back.
