I really want to love Keepers, but it's just a solid 3 star experience. Each time we visit, I'm more disappointed than the time before. This time I had the fish and chips, and it was almost too salty. I was able to eat it, but it was on the verge of inedible. We were also a bit bummed they took the mushrooms off of appetizers and replaced it with... bread. For mains like the scallops, the portion is just so small for the cost. I understand the 3 scallops, but add more puree or more of the succotash. Or put the scallops on a bed of something else that's more substantial. Our server last night left us sitting for a long time and we finally waved her over when we were able to. Not a huge deal, but it was not busy at all at 8:30 on a Friday. Despite it all, we will like the raw bar and drinks so we'll probably be back before a movie at Alamo.

Our waitress was outstanding, and she even read our silly special request to refer to women as "M'Lady" and men as "M'Lord." It added a playful touch to our evening and made us laugh. The food was excellent and each dish was flavorful and well-prepared. We had oysters, seafood bucket, redfish, and tacos.

I really wish most Austin restaurants would turn down the loud music and stop over-seasoning their food! When adults go out to dinner together they like to be able to hold a conversation without leaning across the table in order to hear what’s being said. Keepers is a nice place and the food is quite good. I’d probably go back. But only if they turn down the music!

Excellent food, we tried so many items and they were all fantastic. Be careful when you ask for spicy on the crab boil, because it is spicy!! (but so delicious!)

Such an amazing restaurant with phenomenal food. The service was impeccable. Our server did not disappoint with recommendations! I absolutely can not stop day dreaming about the fried green tomatoes! The manager coming to our table and congratulating my fiancé on his sobriety milestone showed us that this restaurant goes above & beyond which made eating here such a memorable experience. The ambiance is unmatched. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant any more & can’t wait to go back!

We’ve been there several times. Our initial impressions were positive but each time we’ve returned the quality has suffered. The last time we were there several of the appetizers we ordered were completely uneatable. They did take those items off our bill but the experience suffered greatly from not only eating the terrible food but having to point it out to the staff. We’ll think about returning if we have other options.

Not much of a lunch crowd, for sure, which was probably a tell tale sign. Needed fairly quick lunch as two year old needed a nap Clam chowder was COLD Calamari fine (small portion though) brought adult instead of child's fish & chips, which we started to share because of time constraints It was TOO spicy for child They still charged us for it So, marginal service for overpriced food Disappointing!

We had a reservation. We were seated and sat for 15 minutes without any waiter coming by. I then asked the guy cleaning the table next to us to please find our waiter. We waited another 10 minutes and still no one came. We then just left.

Unfortunately, it took over half an hour to be seated for our reservation. I had selected a regular table and they were trying to seat 3 of us in a row at the bar. If I had a reservation for two, I would have been okay to be placed at the bar. Our waiter was new and was attentive, answering all of our questions. I still feel this restaurant is just a little pricey for the serving size. Despite a somewhat small serving (specifically the scallop dish), the food was tasty. Very happy they brought back the fish tacos!

Keeper’s has some real stars. Their drink menu is diverse. The wine list is so-so. The entrees are quite filling. One of my friends loved the lobster Mac and cheese. Another loved the shrimp tacos. I had the trout and it was not exceptional—it was a filling meal but not something I would order again. I would love to try the fried green tomatoes and the chicken satay. The small bites looked very enticing!!

I’ve eaten here a few times now for brunch, happy hour and now dinner and Keepers will definitely be a weekly spot for us. Great service and even more amazing food. It’s part of of the District and Oasthouse family, just a different style of restaurant, seafood. But even if you’re not a seafood fan, there something here for everyone. Inside is upscale with a cool and trendy vibe. Overall, this restaurant continues to hit home runs on each visit and I look forward to coming back. They even have cake balls on happy hour!

Small plates for the price. The shrimp tacos came with 2 and they were relatively small for my husband who is a pretty tall/big guy. We would have liked some insight from our waitress as she probably could have suggested another plate for him. It looked like a kids menu item compared to what we were expecting. He ate them in 2 bites. The rice that was paired with the tacos was probably about a 1/3 cup worth. They were tasty, but pricey at $20 for what you get.

It is a very nice restaurant. The updated indoor seating is beautiful. The waitress was poor in my opinion.. she took the order, brought it, disappeared until she brought the check. Didn’t ask us about the food if we liked it or not, did not come to check on us if we needed anything else, and didn’t ask if we wanted something to drink! Food: taste is very good. Portion was shockingly little and not fulling for a main course. It was the size of a an appetizer. Giving the price, I was expecting a bigger portion. We had shrimp tacos and seafood risotto.

They need to work on their payment app. The app calculates tip on the total amount including sales tax which is a no no. Also the lowest suggested tip percentage is 18 and it should be 15 as an additional option. Of course one can bypass the suggested tip and adds their own but when in a hurry, it’s not ideal!

Too loud. Poor music. Too many TV's. Way over priced. If you want to yell at your date all night, this is the place for you. To whomever art directs that trainwreck - table candles and techno, and Animal Planet- don't go together. Oh, and cornbread goes on catfish NOT Redfish. Such a waste. Never again!!! Such a waste of a great location with ample parking.

The meal started out good and the oysters, crab fingers and sashimi were good. Then our entrees came out completely wrong and cold. They were out of grits that go with the redfish and just gave generic rice instead. I wouldn't recommend and won't be going back.

This was our first time at Keepers. We ordered the calamari which was fantastic, even our picky eater enjoyed it. We asked for a few modifications to our meal and the server was able to make all of them happen. The guava key lime pie in a jar was exquisite, a perfect end to a delicious meal. Highly recommend this place, we will definitely be going back.

My husband and I had a fabulous meal at Keepers. My husband had the linguini with white clam sauce and was extremely satisfied. He found that the clams were tender and the pasta was properly al dente. While I, myself, ordered the crab cake, and was pleasantly surprised that it was done to perfection. We both are looking forward to our next culinary experience at Keepers.

We go to the Oasthouse all the time and love it (same owners and next door). We wanted to try Keepers and we expected much better quality food for the high price. I got the $19 shrimp tacos and the taco shells were falling apart before I even picked them up and there was only 2 smallish shrimp on each taco. The cocktails were very small and we almost felt as if we were being rushed out by the waitress.

The food taste was average, some items too spicy. Not too much oyster variety. I made a reservation and specified that we were celebrating a birthday and we got nothing special. The staff was friendly but doesn’t worth it. Won’t be returning.

The menu is varied, the dishes and the cocktails are very good, the prices are very reasonable and the Fish and Chips are outstanding! The Fish from the Fish and Chips is done the way the New England pubs do them, crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Delicious! The restaurant is decorated with very good taste, and it has a delightful patio. I recommend this restaurant highly.
