I don’t think I’ve ever been sat and served within the hour Where do I even begin to start? So we arrived at Amore, well the atmosphere was pretty much overwhelming. I mean there were more waiting staff than people per table… we got to our table right outside the serving hatch. Whilst some people love being by the hatch well we would rather not see what health and safety nightmares that were unfolding (if you can hold you stomach for as long as this review takes to read. You’ll have beat me making it to the facilities) So where was I? We sat down and within two minutes we were asked if we had, had a chance to make our choices I mean we’d barely breathed thankfully we did say sorry can you give us a few minutes well needless to say the next minute we we’re having to choose two courses (anymore and I think I’d have ended up eating on the well facilities) although that said I don’t think my gastrointestinal issues are more an issue for environmental health to ponder over. Back to it we had made our choices and voilà the fastest arancini and goats cheese starters arrived on our table we were shocked that it arrived so speedily. Both were passable nothing to rave about and maybe the tepid arancini was the cause of my gastrointestinal incident almost 5/10 mins post finishing the main course. Oh one other thing I do rather like rocket having the plate removed mid mouthful isn’t nice especially when it was the most enjoyable thing about the dish. So mains arrived and underwhelming was the theme oh and salty. Honestly a mouth full of sea water from the estuary would have been well less salty! The food wasn’t nice at all and once again maybe the high levels of salt we’re to blame for any gastrointestinal issues that I experienced. The only redeeming feature was that the food was hotter than the starter. I.e. the chicken may have seen some cooking equipment. Equally opening new cream tub with overly dirty utensils was alarming.

The restaurant had a good ambiance and was clean. The waiting staff were attentive, although they were young and obviously did not have experience and product knowledge. However, we still enjoyed our evening and would recommend the food, which was excellent.

Ingredients missing so not all menu available. Service very poor but not the fault of the young team, complete lack of training obvious. Oven baked haddock was over cooked, very dry and inedible. One piece of asparagus stalk in the asparagus pasta. One pizza burnt. Other dishes very nice. Complained to manager who was very apologetic and took dishes off the bill.

It was our first time in the restaurant and it had no atmosphere. It was like being in a work canteen. It needs background music and more dimmed lighting to make it feel more homely. We did enjoy the food and it was well presented

Staff were very welcoming and accommodating when we arrived as we had very large booking and asked to be seated together. The service was fairly quick and the food was tasty , particularly the roasts on the menu . The portion sizes were very big for 3 course menu and the children menu surprisingly. The kids crayons and colouring in sheets provided was nice touch.

We were met outside by a waitress smoking right at the door, not against smoking but surely staff have a private area to use! Into the restaurant and it looked like it had been recently refurbished, lovely decor and a nice atmosphere. Apart from one attentive server the service was very poor, slow and sloppy. We had to ask over and over for items. We all opted for Sunday lunch and the food was really good, hot and really good value for money. The ladies toilets were also a let down, nothing a thorough clean couldn’t resolve though. All in all it was great food in a venue that could easily be 5 stars with a few tweaks

Lovely welcome from Molly .. very accommodating.. my friend is veggie .. two smaller starters were provided instead of a sharing one.. very tasty.. we were booked in for the bottomless brunch, the Prosecco flowed and we sampled a couple of cocktails .. the risotto as a main was well cooked to the bite of the rice 👌🏻 .. (we were offered the Sunday lunch as a main but we declined) it was a nice offer, btw that looked really tasty with roasted veg and Yorkshire's the size of sombrero’s …. We will go back for sure..

Our laid back Waiter amazed is us using his memory skills taking all our orders, there was four of us dining, ordering 2 starters and 4 mains. We specially asked that the veg pasta was served with 'white' sauce and that all dishes were served together as we were sharing the starters. "No problem" was the reply. Then like magic the food arrived, no starters and veg pasta with tomato based sauce. As we were seated near the kitchen, we could hear the chef explain to the waiter over and over again this dish come with the tomato based sauce. The chef then came over to the table, we explained that we requested white sauce at the point of order. 'no problem' The white sauce dish was served after about 10 mins whilst the rest of us were half way through our meal. Your Waiter managed to allude your restaurant from higher ratings, about £12.00 in takings & a tip. This TIP is for your waiter, use the traditional method of taking orders, use a pen and paper. Your employer will not bear the cost or re-makes and food waste, they will make more money and you may not be in the firing line. GOOD LUCK we won't be joining you again

Food overall was good. Competent chef in the kitchen. However, staff are clearly inexperienced and tend to disappear a bit at times. Number of items on the menu weren't available and things like sauces and sides were missed from our order. Coffees were a disaster and no gin available in the hotel for a post dinner G&T. Staff and managers need to spend more time checking on tables and there should be someone in the dining room at all times. Also waitress told us they were aware number of items on menu had run out in the morning but no effort made to replenish stock before evening dinner service. Early days and hopefully will pick up as the food overall is good and value for money. Need to get service right though and make sure most menu items are available. Will definitely go back as things should improve through time but overall needs to be better than currently is.

It’s a new venue so there were a lot of teething problems. Lack of staff being the biggest issue. You need at least one on the bar, one on the till and 3 serving/taking orders etc. we waited in total 2 hours from sitting down to eating and finishing a 2 course meal. We didn’t have the pudding as we couldn’t wait any longer. The food that was served was good and very good value for money. So the problems aren’t in the kitchen, they are squarely in the front of house and really need sorted as it’s only going to get busier in the tourist season.

Terrible experience, Made a booking for 2.30, arrived to be told we would have to wait a minute while they found a table, 30 minutes later after constantly asking to be seated we were seated in the breakfast area of the hotel. Restaurant manager didn’t have a clue, started taking order then passed it to a colleague, who then started the order again as the manager hadn’t wrote anything down, starters came about 20 minutes later cold, asked where our drinks were, told they are coming, 10 minutes later asked again, the manager said they are coming, my husband replied you keep saying that, to which the manager replied if you’re aggressive il call the police, he obviously doesn’t like answering questions, we were with my 80 year old mother, so definitely no aggression. The place is an absolute joke, every body in there was complaining, meals were being served to the wrong tables etc, reminded me of faulty towers

We were booked to eat at 2.15pm, food didn’t arrive until almost 4.30pm. The waiter who initially greeted us did so whilst smoking a vape, which he continued to do throughout his shift, when serving customers. We had to request to place our orders several times before order was taken, it then took forever to arrive and when it did the starters were cold, items were missing and the kids meals didn’t arrive with starters as requested. The Sunday roast was delicious when it did finally come, but desserts were then cold and/or incorrect. A gentleman and lady (Kieran and Donna I believe) had been drafted in to help from Newcastle and they were extremely helpful and thank goodness they were there. We confronted the young man about his vaping which had set off one of our party’s asthma and he was unapologetic, denied it, and plain rude, to make matters worse, his mother who also worked there then came over, yelled at us to leave saying we weren’t welcome!!! Truly appalling! The manager dealt with it and them, and offered us more drinks if we wanted and was very apologetic.
