Both the Food and Service were fantastic. We went for our 17th wedding anniversary dinner, and we received a delicious dessert as a Happy Anniversary. Everyone is very nice who works there. Will definitely be going back.

My friend found a rock in one of the rice bowls but there was no compensation for it.. and the staff asked so what do you need? I know she had a poor English skill but we found her disrespectful… We thought she would take the food out from our bill but ended up paying for everything… 8 of us were there and we spent about $600 in total but was not worth the money… and trust me Kingyo used to be my favorite restaurant.

Have been here for at least 50 times in the past four years, even it takes me more than 1 hour to drive there and even it’s hard to find an available spot. Service is always good. Foods, at this price level, used to be the best———it’s true that I can find better Japanese food than Kingyo, but it would cost me at least 3 times more of money. However, not really satisfied with my most recent 2 experiences in the past months. Service is as good as usual, for sure. The quality of beef/sashimi isn’t as good as before, especially after you introduced more wagyu selections. I frequently get A5 wagyu at home(imported from Japan) or other fancy Japanese restaurants in the area. Your wagyu, although not expensive, really tastes “ok”. Also, seems like other foods do not taste as good as the past four years, for example, the stone grilled Kobe beef———not as juicy as usual. Additionally, the most recent 5 kinds sashimi selection is also “so so”———the fish selection is cheap———yellow tail is very nice, but the scallop is not sweet at all. Moreover, the bluefin really doesn’t taste good this time, so that I didn’t want to order the bluefin&wagyu bowl at all this time.

Servers here were all friendly and nice! Throughly loved my experience. It was my boyfriends birthday and so our dinner came w a complimentary dessert of our choice which was really nice as well ᵕ̈ Sock eye salmon carpaccio was my favorite of all the items we ordered.

Tough place to get into but well worth it. Server could not speak clear English but that's always a good sign. Sushi rolls were melt in your mouth great, but Wagu beef was tough and chewy, still flavorful though. An authentic Japanese eatery, it was our second favorite meal out of 5 nights in Vancouver.
