Great variety and everything we ordered was excellent.
Excellent restaurant with amazing dishes and good quality service
Food was absolutely delicious! Will be back again soon!!!
Food presentation was excellent, ambiance was very good and food was alright. Not outstanding. Service was abysmal.
We ordered a trio of appetizers; hummus, baba ganoush, and grape leaves. They were accompanied by hot pita bread and all were excellent. My wife had the lamb chops, and they were equally great. I had the gyro platter; it would have been good, but it was over cooked and quite dry. Had our waitress come over to ask how the entrees were, I would have mentioned the problem, but she was the only waitress for the entire dining room, and we were headed to a show, so I remained silent. I didn’t see into the kitchen, but I assume the gyro was on a spit; if so, it shouldn’t have been difficult for the restaurant to heat up another order that was not overdone. So, part of the fault was mine for not saying anything, but I wasn’t given the opportunity to do so, and given how busy our waitress was, I elected not to.
I noticed that some prices were higher than on the menu posted on the Open Table website; I wrote it off to the recent inflation and said nothing. The price actually charged for the appetizer ($23.99?) was a bit high, for a neighborhood restaurant, but it was very good. The portion was appropriately sized for two people. I thought the price for a glass of wine was high, given that the pour was less than generous.
The waitress was nice and competent, but overworked; an unfortunate sign of current times at many places.
We are not from Albany, so not sure if we will return, but absolutely would if we lived closer. The decor and ambiance were excellent, as were the restrooms.
A very enjoyable dining experience! Food and service was spot on! Definitely would go back if we lived closer.
I had the lamb kavormo. It is so good I have a hard time ordering anything else. The restaurant is quiet and pleasant. A very pleasant evening for me and my friends.
The best Turkish food in the Capital Region! Highly recommended the dolma!
It was our first time at Kismet and it didn’t disappoint! Everything was great, from the food to the service and ambiance. The meal portions were quite large and the appetizers were delicious! Will definitely be back again!
Food was excellent. Staff accommodated us when our group expanded to 8, they provided 3 extra settings. Loved everything about the evening.
I almost do not wish to write a good review so that yuo will be crowded when I want to come again but that would not be honest nor fair. The service from the wait staff
was so attentive and caring, they were marvelous young women who were really doing their best to provide anything we might wish.
My friend who lives in DC and always goes to middel eastern type restaurants said the food was better than her spots in DC. And that is saying something.
I always love going to Kismet and will continue to, it is my favorite place to eat, even
better than at home !
We really enjoyed our dishes at Kismet. We ordered a variety of appetizers and the baklava for dessert. Everything was excellent! Highly recommend.
The food was wonderful, we went on a Friday night and it was quiet and great for date night. Highly recommend any lamb!
We shared the mezze platter- trio of hummus, dolma, and filling stuffed with feta cheese. My husband had the lamb kabob which was very good but slightly over cooked. I had the shrimp kavourna which was delicious The wine selection was good. We will definitely return
Kismet was really good! We ordered lots of appetizers. They were great though the hummus was a little bland. Tons of pita! The entrees were great and the baklava was the best ever.
We look forward to going back soon!
Food was very good. Service and communication was lacking.
This was our first time at Kismet. It is a nice restaurant, clean to a fault. Service is excellent and very friendly. The food was excellent overall and nice sized portions. The only disappointment was the hummus. It was not well seasoned. The Babaganoush on the other hand was very tasty and unique as it included pine nuts. Will definitely be back.
Everything was fantastic! The wine was perfection and the kovourma plates were to die for!!! Highly Highly recommend!!!
Excellent food and wine, quiet place, very well located and super friendly service! I thoroughly recommend it!
Consistently good. Was happy to see some new menu items too.
Terrific Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine. Warm service. Great evening.
Excellent dinner. Best Mediterranean Food (Turkish actually) in the area. Very nice owner and staff. Can’t wait to go back.
Our wait staff was unmatched!! Absolutely lovely experience from arrival to departure
Traveled from Princeton NJ to catch up with friends and have dinner here. Great food and delicious wine!
As in the past, our experience at Kismet was wonderful. The waitstaff are pleasant and helpful. This is our go-to restaurant.
Kismet is an intriguing little gem on Madison Ave in Albany. A Mediterranean cuisine allows for a variety of entrees. We chose the outdoor dining and it was ideal
Wonderful food made with love and expertise, and wonderful service! Highly recommended!!! Also, social distancing felt safe - my friend and I made a reservation and were the only ones in the restaurant at the time.
We always love going there. Great food, nice atmosphere.
Excellent food (big portions) and great service. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back again.
Sad (but understandable) that we were the only ones there. But, as always, the food and service were top notch.
What a find! Cozy atmosphere, wonderful, friendly service and delicious food. The chef's family recipe red lentil soup alone was worth the trip, and the lamb shish kabob was perfect
We can't wait to go back
The food, service and atmosphere is always excellent. We love going here with other couples because of the relaxed atmosphere and the background noise allows you to have a conversation without competing to be heard.
Food is consistent and delicious. Have the soup, the hummus! Love Kismet!
Visited Kismet on a Thursday with friends and we were all very happy with our dinners. Chicken Gyro, Beef Gyro and an appetizer of 3 choices of Greek sauces with toasted pita. Told my husband how much we liked it and he wanted to try it, so we went with a friend and again, very delicious all around. Wine pour is a bit short Other than that, awesome.
The food was amazing. Very authentic Mediterranean dishes. The atmosphere is very nice and service was great. Will definitely go back.
Very pleasant dinner with good, attentive service and very good food.
Food was excellent as always. Wine pours were unusually short. We should have bought a bottle.
My husband and myself had a first visit to this restaurant a few days back.
We both were very impressed by the little dining area. We do not prefer huge and noisy places. We were seated at a table by one of the 2 windows. There are also some booths along the interior wall of the restaurant.
Very clean place, in the dinning area as well as the bathroom.
We had hummus to share as an appetizer. The hummus was good but lacking the garlic touch that we were used to when The Hidden Corner in Delmar was in business. The pita bread that came with the hummus was the best! We were surprised to find on the check that a second basket of the pita, to be able to finish the hummus, was charged ($1.00).
For main plate my husband had the lamb and he enjoyed it very much. He loves lamb but at some restaurants in this area he finds the meat not to be the best quality. This lamb was very good quality. The presentation of the plate was elegant.
I, counting calories and carbs, had one appetizer as my dinner, it was the eggplant and I loved it. The only negative comment is that although the printed menu said it is served warm, it came not with uniform temperature. It was easy to guess that the serving was taken from the fridge and quickly warmed and not completely. Next time I will request to have it more on the hot side than the “warm” side.
My husband’s entree had a little salad on the side. He is not a salad fan so I had his salad. The vegetables were very fresh and chopped and THe DRESSING WAS DELICIOUS A simple dressing that the attendant told me was made of parsley, lemon and vinegar. It was transparent and light and one of the best dressings I have ever had.
The menu is small but offers to different preferences, including vegetarians like myself.
An inconvenient, associated with the location of the restaurant in Albany, is the parking availability. We could not find a parking space close to the restaurant.
Other than those 2 negatives, the restaurant is A+.
Truly enjoyed the meal. Presentation was outstanding. Service was excellent
Wonderful food that reminded me of Grandma’s cooking. The service was great.
