Tucked into the upper story of a delightfully faded building in Chinatown, Kissa Tanto invites you into the little jewel that is the House of Plenty. First we will eat! Such supreme satisfaction we take from the delicate flavours of Japan and the warmth of ltalian cooking and feel it’s right to bring these culinary forces together to do a little dance. Why not? Soul mates are they not with their mutual love of noodles, rice, and proteins in their pure, delicious uncooked form? Please leave yourselves in our hands as we take you on a divine culinary journey laden with beloved classics that have graced our menu since the very first day as well as choice, unique dishes that Chef Watanabe has created especially for our Omakase. A symphony of textures and flavours: cool, soft and herbaceous on the lips, the resistance of a perfect pasta noodle between your teeth. These are the kinds of dishes that are meant to be shared amongst friends and family so that all can delight. *Please let us know of any dietary restrictions or if you have had our Omakase on a previous occasion. **Any cancellations require 4 days notice.

    Really great atmosphere with nice speakeasy type vibe. We had the octopus salad , spaghetonni with beef and pork ragu , duck breast and then tiramisu and cannolis for dessert. Food was very good.

    Always an amazing experience at Kissa Tanto! The food is superb, with a lot of unique items to satisfy your palette and curiosity. Cocktails are also delicious and creative!

    Inventive menu that is more Italian than Japanese. Ambience was moody and dramatic, which makes for an interesting dining experience. Service was excellent overall. Worth going once to experience a meal there.

    This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Incredible food, individualized perfect pairings. Our server was fun and flawless. Our needs were anticipated though out, and everything was perfectly timed. We were celebrating a huge milestone and I’m so glad we chose Kissa Tanto!!! Thank you so much to this incredible team for making our night special!!!

    We tried the omakase menu and the dish that stood out the most was the tuna Tataki! Tuna chutoro flame seared was better than we thought since parts of the fat was slightly rendered, making it even better than when consumed raw

    The food is truly phenomenal. We had octopus, burrata, wagyu pasta, chicken, and sable fish. Every dish was creative, delicious, and perfectly executed. Our server was a pro.

    This was the most high pressure sales I’ve ever encountered in a restaurant. Waiter was pushing tasting menus and when we we told him we were not hungry enough since it was a very early reservation, he became very dismissive and inattentive. Food was excellent but would not return for this experience. It is the opposite of how I want to feel at a high end restaurant.

    4 of us went for my 60th birthday. Food and service were excellent as well as the wine selections. We also liked the lesser known wines of Spain and Southern France. Perhaps more appropriate for special occasions.

    I had been to BaoBei twice and had been really looking to go to Kissa Tanto for a number of years, but never been able to. Finally had an opportunity. We were a group of 6 so took the Omakase format, which honestly works best for this size group. The food was outstanding and unique. No problems there. My only criticism is that the Omakase is advertised at a certain price point ($155 per person) but when you arrive they tell you that this is a "starting point" and that to get an even better experience you can upgrade. This is fine, but they should state it up front during the reservation process to avoid an awkward conversation among the group. In the end we upgraded moderately to $200 per person and felt it was really worth it with ingredients like wagyu carpaccio and a whole fried rockfish thrown in.

    Kissa Tanto is an incredible dining experience, and yet every visit seems to get better and better. We drive up from Seattle 1-2 times a year just to have dinner here.

    The food was incredible. The Wagyu spaghettoni was quite literally the best pasta either of us have had in our lives. We don’t go out to eat that often, our expectations were high and they were all blown away. Our server was wonderful. Cocktails were delicious and beautiful. While the spaghettoni was the highlight the burrata salad was a very close second. The zucchini and almond cream mixed with the burrata were remarkably good.

    Overall a great experience. Started the evening with delicious cocktails, and the food was a mix of some truly outstanding dishes (the feature pasta and the incredible yuzu cream dessert), and some letdowns (the sablefish — it was fine, but definitely not memorable or worth the price). Our server was very informative and happy to answer questions we had about dishes after they had arrived, and the interior space was really elegantly decorated. Definitely worth a try and some truly unique flavours in certain dishes.
