   Kitchen 5315 was a pleasant surprise. Located right off the lobby of the resort ( not on the water). It’s a kind of funky vibe inside. Huge windows that don’t open. No air conditioning but fans to move the air so not stuffy. The food!! delicious and priced right. Special Mai Tai mix was aloha in a glass. The Mahi mahi perfectly cooked. The service…..fantastic. Thanks J. See you again soon. Right now the detour on the lower road makes getting there a little bit of an adventure but it’s sooo worth it. Go. Go now.

   Best Hawaiian food I’ve ever had! The servers were friendly. We were a party of 3, and all our food was brought out simultaneously. We loved that! The ambiance is a bit dated and drab, but the excellent food makes up for that. Will definitely return.

   Our family came here for breakfast. Delicious! I had the Loco Moco, pulled pork over rice with onions, brown gravy and two eggs over easy. We also ordered the pancakes (yum!) French toast (yum) and the fried rice with bacon, ham and eggs. Everything was delicious and large portions too Server was nice, friendly. Only complaint is it took nearly 30 minutes to get our food. Well worth the wait, but when you’ve got hungry kiddos they can loose their patience

   We were at Kitchen 5315 for lunch/brunch on Easter Sunday. It wasn’t a typical meal but we liked the change to LocoMoco and coconut chicken instead of ham and eggs! It’s a beautiful location with a view of tropical gardens and the ocean.

   The hostess/waitress was not welcoming or friendly. Two out of the six guests got sick after the meal. The plates and cups were dirty. The restaurant has the most uncomfortable chairs with wooden pineapples digging into your back the whole meal.

    We were visiting from out of town, and one of the hotel employees suggested the restaurant. It appears the restaurant is under new management. I would not go back again the service, and the food was bad.

    Our server only checked on us once to take our order and never came back the rest of the night. The food runners were more helpful than our server. We had to stand up to wave a server down just to get our check. The food was good but not worth the terrible service

    Very weird experience at this restaurant. We came on a Saturday night around 6:30 and it was dead quiet. Service was ok, food was regrettable, and the atmosphere left me feeling uncomfortable for hours.

    Tasty dinner for two. I had the mahi tacos and they were very good, just the right amount of food, plus about four wonton “tortilla” chips with a good pineapple salsa to dip them in. My husband had the Kolbi short ribs, which were a bit chewy for my taste, but he ate them down to the bones! We had pineapple upside down cake for dessert and it was amazing! Large serving of cake with extra pineapple on top, then a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and a ton of warm caramel sauce over it all. If no one else had been at the restaurant we would have licked the plate! Drinks were good, too.

    We enjoyed the steak tacos, Kalbi Ribs, teriyaki cheese steak sandwich and the Molikini plate . The service was slow, we got our drinks and then waited a long time for our server to come back for our order….. then food came and it was great. Server didn’t return to take any plates, we flagged down someone else and asked for our check…… then they put it all on one bill themselves then we stayed it was supposed to be split and our waitress arrived and took it and split it. By the time our bill came there was only two other tables in the restaurant so it wasn’t because she was busy on the floor. It took us an hour and a half from start to finish.

    We didn’t need a reservation because there was only one other table that was occupied with a party of six. It was at a resort that reminded me of something out of the 70s, which was nostalgic. There was a nice view of the landscaping and in the distance you could see the ocean. The service was slow and the food was good. I had the mahi-mahi with macaroni salad and a glass of Chardonnay, my husband had the breaded fish and macaroni salad.

    The food was terrible. We ordered edamame and calamari to start and both were terrible. The entrees weren’t better. I’m writing because I want people to know the food is terrible, the interior is dated and tacky, and the service was terrible. Don’t go here.

    Kitchen 5315 reminds us of the resorts of the 70’s and 80’s. Quaint, family friendly, simple. The Tiki bar is fun, good variety of alcohol, especially bourbons! The waitstaff seems to be completely foreign students. Our waitress was from Argentina. She did pretty well with her English. The prices are low by Hawaii standards. The food is fair. It was flavorful, but not spectacular. I had the Kalbi ribs and they were tough. I liked the flavor, but they could have used a couple more hours of slow cooking. Difficult to get the meat off the bones. The Katsu chicken was good. My wife had the macadamia nut crusted Mahi. Again, it was good not spectacular. This is a good place for families, which made it noisy. We’ll go back, other things on the menu I’d like to try.

    Addendum: we contacted the restaurant regarding the gratuity and he was very responsive. He was genuinely concerned about our experience and is trying to improve things. I have no doubt the restaurant will be better in time under his leadership. The Mai tai was very good. The kalua pork sandwich was akin to a McDonald’s meal. Cheap bun, no cabbage, fries were from a frozen bag. The Lua Lua pork was bland and fatty. The server never checked on us. Imagine my surprise to find he added a 30% tip to merchant copy when I wrote for 15%, generous under the circumstances. If my credit card reflects the 30% I will fight it. Very unhappy.

    Went specifically for prime rib-told didn’t have any because not enough reservations. Also had no milk and couldn’t make Bloody Mary despite what appeared to be full bar. VERY disappointed.

    We had a very average experience here. It was very quiet as it was the day after Christmas. We had good service but we found the place to be overall unimpressive and the food below average. The calamari was good. I got one of the luau plates and my daughter got the terriyaki chicken and my son had the shrimp tacos. None of us liked our food. We would not return or recommend this place to others.
