Klein / Harris
Food was original, nicely presented, and tasty. The dry gin martini was excellent and service very good.
Food was good. Had lots of potential. The server was slow and spoke way too quietly for the space. The food wasn’t brought out in the order we had asked for and my cappuccino was cold.
One of our favourite restaurants. We tried their homemade sausage and bell peppers skillet, with spicy leeks. It was delicious. We had the Grilled Humboldt squid, chilli ginger potatoes, baby leeks , pickled salad, the sweet and spice is an amazing taste. The squid is nice and chewy. The mushroom ravioli is a favourite. The taste is very delicate.
For mains we had the lamb, Duck breast, Chicken and the Hanger steak. The lamb chops were meaty, the chicken is always succulent, really the best chicken anywhere in Calgary. The duck was cooked to perfection and the hanger steak always a favourite. Finished off with the doughnuts, as always very light accompanied by the chocolate and salted maple butter.
A lovely evening with fantastic food. It is always a pleasure to return to Klein Harris.
Great staff—great food
Always great service and food. Came here for my birthday, we were seated quickly. Food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time. The cocktails are delicious. Was provided a complimentary birthday dessert which was fantastic - thank you!
Our food was great but the wine list is very poor. I get they are trying to focus on all things Canada but having only Canadian wines and a handful of foreign produced wines with Canadian winemakers doesn’t cut it. The couple decent Canadian wines they did have were very overpriced. I wouldn’t return unless they expand the wine list.
The one punch lunch is a great deal. The pastrami sandwich was wonderful!
Very attentive and fast service
Beet salad was very tasty
MP Fish (sole) was very good - 4 pieces
Great value for the price, good food and service. Would recommend of any business lunch meeting.
Always a pleasant experience at K&H, great food reasonable pricing
Our first time at this restaurant. We had the squid and scallop appetizers which were prepared well and tasty - the best part of the meal. We had the lamb and hanger steak entrees. They were good but a bit on the cool side. We had the butter tart and donuts for dessert. The donuts were good but the caramel sauce that came with them was too thick. The butter tart pastry was poor and not enough butter tart filling. The service was better than the food.
Everything was absolutely amazing! Our group of 4 went all out and ordered 5 appetizers, 4 mains, shared a dessert, 3 espressos and 2 bottles of wine and our bills were under $100 each. CAN'T wait to go back.
Another great meal from the folks at Klein Harris. As always the food was very good and the service helpful without being overbearing.
Not impressed. Food was ‘fine’. Expected more, given the prices. Service was terrible. Ordered pre dinner cocktails and wine with dinner. Wine came right away. Cocktails never arrived. Needed to flag down wait staff to order second glasses. Soup was lovely, scallops are tiny, mushroom ravioli tasty but not hot, crusted Boursin cheese with crostinis was just ok. Many other better dining choices out there. Won’t be back.
Would like more smaller options with veggies available... but otherwise a really great experience and the staff fulfilled my request for a Happy birthday candle in a donut which was wonderful.
Your restaurant is one of my favorites in Calgary, however yesterday the service was not as good as it usually is. The coffee was brought before we even finished our meal but then we had to walk through the restaurant to ask someone for the bill
Fantastic service, great food (the duck is phenomenal), owner and this place is all about q-avality (quality and value), the place is socialable and the noise levels/spacing of tables is great that you don’t have to talk loudly to your date or hear someone else’s conversation. Will definitely be back!
Everything was great. The staff was friendly and professional. The food was delicious and I love how it was Canadian based. Would definitely suggest the experience to others.
I had the lettuce wraps which were excellent and our server was very accommodating and pleasant.
We enjoyed a delicious meal.
The servers were apologetic because they had a large group taking up a lot of their attention. We were not in a rush and didn't notice much delay in being served, just the food took a bit of time to arrive; but the open kitchen meant we got to watch the chefs at work and they never slowed down - it's a bit like watching Master Chef!
We travel to Calgary once a year for a professional golf tournament. Klein/Harris is always tops on our list of places to go while there. We have become friends with the chef James and manger Christina over the last 3 years and love the work they and their team do! Great food and wonderful service.
Been going here for a few years now! Has awesome service, great drink menu, food is always on point and the comfort is perfect! If u are having a causal supper, the couches in the back are sweet for after filling ur belly!! Perfect for sitting back and having your bevy in comfort!
Fantastic!! The smoked duck was so delicious.
Really good summer feast menu!
Amazing food and attentive servers!
The ambiance was fine, server was okay, could have been a bit more attentive, I felt like we always had to get her attention. Yes, the place was full but she did not come around much. The food was very disappointing. The squid was fine but the lentils were definitely underdone. The pork cheeks were tasty enough but nothing else really went with it on the plate. The sweet sauce was too much. And the dessert was also very subpar. The biscuit was so hard, I struggled to cut it up with my spoon edge so I could eat it. Overall too, most items were under seasoned. No, I would not recommend this place based on this meal
Great dinner with my family for mothers birthday. Food was great and portion sizes were great for the price.
Would definitely recommend and visit again.
A colleague and I had the "One Punch Lunch" soup and sandwich. We both enjoyed it and felt that, at $16, it was good value for a downtown restaurant. The squash soup was fresh and creamy, although not quite hot enough. The sandwich was full of mildly spiced chicken, although it would have benefitted from a bit more dressing. Two small butter tarts were a tasty finish to the meal. Service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant was reasonably quite and we could easily have a conversation.
Food was excellent! Great service and perfect spot for a business lunch or evening out with friends / date night. Will definitely go back!
Service was great but food could have been better for the price.
Great food, presentation and service as usual. The quality for the price point is unmatched in the City.
Servers are so genuine and comfortably attentive, food is excellent, beautifully presented, unique and so delicious, the happy hour and regular cocktails are sumptuous, and overall incredible value for the quality of food and service.
Booked the reservation for my parents who were visiting Calgary for the stampede. They waited 10 minutes for water and another 30 to get a menu. They ended up going elsewhere for food.
Server was apologetic and understanding. My parents were told they would receive a complimentary meal provided they call back that evening. We called and left a message but our call was never returned.
Good experience here in the past but not interested in going back.
Food was good but not great. Great space
Our experience was similar to other great reviews. Food was excellent, service was spot on and friendly. A great night out for our anniversary.
Micheal and the rest of the staff provided excellent service and advice on the menu items. The market fish (red snapper) and diver scallops were delicious. If we return to Calgary, Klein / Harris will be on our restaurant list. We would have returned a second night, but were unable to make a reservation. Make a reservation ahead of time if you plan to go.
One of my favourite restaurants in Calgary. The food is excellent- every dish is amazing. Pop up location (while regular location is under construction) is just as nice - decor and ambience is lovely, however it seems much louder (acoustics?). Service was SLOW - like, very slow on a Wednesday night - not sure why, or if it’s normal but we were there as a group of 4 and visiting (and enjoying the great wine) so we were not in a rush.
My fiance and are I are so confused. All the reviews we’ve seen are great but we were so underwhelmed by the food. It took awhile to get our order (the mains really took some time) so we were starving but, although nothing was so bad it needed to be sent back, the food all seemed bland or flat. The amount of food for the price is good value. The server was great, the cocktails were wonderful, the cheesecake mousse was amazing...but I don’t know if we’d risk dinner here again.
Wonderful place. The food and service are top shelf. One of my favourite spots. Local Canadian food with a great menu.
