Kodiaks Restaurant at College of New Caledonia
The food was excellent, though my friend's crab cakes were not good - too sweet. The service is not as good as in most restaurants but we understand that the "staff" are trained to cook, probably not training on waiting on tables. We did appreciate the efforts and will be back.
It is an excellent way for the students to learn, plus the food is exceptional, presentation is amazing and it is great value.
Would recommend offering a more intimate atmosphere with dimmed lights, music and closing the entrance door so the hallway pop music doesnt interfere with the music inside.
Appetizers were underwhelming with little to no filling in the mushrooms and the crab tower was just ok.
Trout and prime rib were both excellent. Especially enjoyed the curried cauliflower side.
Mousse was more like ice cream...very hard...not what was expected for "mousse" (light, airy and creamy).
Could tell it was the last day opened as the serving staff seemed disinterested and didnt know how to pronounce the desserts or how to describe what they were.
Chef Ron made the experience super educational and exciting. I would recommend Kodiaks to all of my colleagues and friends! Great food, great value and great service from the students. I love that Kodiaks is bringing contemporary edge to the food industry in Prince George.
As usual everything was great. Can’t wait till next year to go for dinner again. Hope to go for lunch in the Fall

The student servers and chefs were great; the food was awesome, as usual. Kodiak's provides a cozy, warm atmosphere, with excellent food, service, and value. The instructor chefs take the time to check in with the guests and ensure that the dining experience is a pleasant one. We highly recommend this gem of a fine dining restaurant!

general lighting could be less bright with extra lighting at each table. Presentation was excellent.
The food was very tasty and well presented. Our steak, however was well done, when we asked for medium rare and the dessert portions were a lot smaller than the sample sizes shown to us. The service was good, except I never got asked if I wanted another glass of wine, although my wine glass was empty for quite awhile. Some of our silverware that we still needed got taken away. My husband went to the washroom and found himself locked out. Things are bound to happen when you sit down for a 2hr meal......Overall I think this was a very good experience with a few blips.
Good was delicious, choices were fantastic. Be prepared to take your time and enjoy!
The food was truly amazing. Just the right portion for lunch. The server called the fries "magic fries" and they definitely were. Just the right amount of seasoning. I usually put ketchup on my fries and I didn't even miss it. I had the Rueben Panini and the proportion of sauerkraut and corn beef was right on. This was my first time there and I can't wait to see what you will be doing at the end of March for the dinner hour. I think if you were open all the time that I would be a regular customer. Being there for lunch, the service was quick allowing us time to enjoy our lunch and still get back to work all within the hour. Thanks again for a great experience.
Thank you for another great meal at Kodiaks! We had a group of six for a business lunch and service was prompt and the food was delicious. The menu is always a joy to choose from.
A great place to meet a friend or business associate in comfortable surroundings for good food and a relatively quiet visit or lunch meeting. I found there was plenty of items to choose from on the menu and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A wonderful way to support our community culinary students!
I have always had excellent meals at Kodiaks, but this last visit involved perhaps the best meal I've ever had in Prince George. Everything was beautifully presented and very flavorful. The filet of beef was incredibly tender, trio of sorbets was lovely, we had the lemon tart for dessert and it was fantastic. It's a cozy, intimate feel and our server was very attentive. The culinary students do an excellent job. There is no where else that I can think of where you can have a 5 course meal for $40, and certainly not at this quality. The only negative was about how and when cutlery was provided, but these are students so that is to be expected.

Excellent service and food, from start to finish. The menu showcased certain foods (e.g., lamb and ahi tuna) that we do not have the pleasure to eat on a regular basis. The presentation was outstanding, as were the food pairings and ingredients. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and this was among the best meals we have had in Prince George, and in general. A few very minor instances where we felt there could have been a touch more seasoning, but this is a small detail and could just be personal preference.
sevice was excellent. The food was tasty and delicious. Except for chicken cannoli one of main course. The dish was dried out. The year before I had the pasta and it was hand made ravioli was delicous. Thought this pasta would be similar but was a little disappointed. However the cesar salad was excellent. My husband lamb was great. Cheesecake was delicious

Weird Caesar salad presentation ,but tasty dressing!
Sorbet lovely, but overpresented. Just serve in tiny dish and save the interesting cookie presentation for dessert (with ice cream and drizzle).

The food was phenomenal!! The ambiance relaxing, the chef came out to talk about each dish, very enjoyable all around, would recommend to anybody for any occasion.
The food was delicious, and the pricing and portion sizes were on point. I felt like our server lacked confidence in herself and her constant second guessing of herself resulted in slow service. That said it was clear her intentions were good and she had a clear desire to do her best. I'm sure with practice her confidence will improve along with her speed. Other wise a very enjoyable dining experience. The braised rib panini was very flavorful, would definitely eat here again.
I enjoyed the opportunity to taste what the culinary school has been learning.
I loved it. We were seated and introduced to the waiter who took our drink order. He came back later to take our lunch order. It was ready fairly quickly and very tasty. He checked back with us to see how things were tasting, refilled water and coffee and inquired how we wanted the check. There was something going on in the Atrium which was noisy, otherwise it would have been a nice quiet lunch. I would highly recommend it.
The meal was very delicious, soup could have been hotter. Level of service was just right, was not intrusive. Pricing was reasonable for all menu items. Can't wait until the dinner service becomes avail in March 2018
As always the food and service was top notch- how ever the reservation procedure needs to be improved. I phoned 3 times leaving my number, never received a return call for reservation.
Then I tried to use the Open Table site - was reserved for the wrong day first and then when I thought I had finally made the correct reservation, I received a phone call the next day asking when I would like to reserve.
I come twice each year, this is the first time I have tried to use the Open Table site - not impressed at all.
We enjoyed the fact that the student serving us was taking his first order. He was so pleasant and we were able to make suggestions eg. maybe you should ask what dressing we would like on the salad. He was delightful, always responding with a big smile. Personality is important in the dining industry.
