pan seared medium firm tofu, maple ginger glaze, fresh ginger, onion, carrot, red pepper, snap peas
Red peppers, suey choy, onions, and mushrooms sautéed in Chinese Taré sauce with a choice of Shanghai or vegan udon noodles, garnished with green onion and sesame
Great service, loved the music! Very friendly and kind!
Great place for live music.
Everything was great! I just found the food pretty expensive for what we got.
This is my favourite place for live music in Calgary. Amazing food.
I love the ambiance at Koi! The live music was so wonderful! I was impressed with the COVID safety measures taken at Koi. I'm not a huge fan of Asian style food, but I was able to find something that I could enjoy. My vegetarian family members enjoyed their meals very much! Our server was outstanding, very friendly and professional, checking in with us often. I thought that the price was very reasonable for the quality of the food and experience. I would return to Koi in the future!
The bar tender didn’t know how to make the drinks on the menu. Staff seemed a bit frazzled
Love this place!! Music was amazing, staff was friendly. 10/10
Too many people in the room,no social distance maintained as many do not wear mask!
No crowd control!
Thanks to invitation by John Reid it was our first visit at KOI. It is a lovely small restaurant. Friendly staff and food exceptional, We'll be back.
Great work as always! Wow I love the Spring rolls :)
Wonderful experience for a small party. So friendly and accommodating. I requested a virgin drink and she iced my apple cider as a courtesy. So happy with all the meals.
Great food, music and very friendly staff. Great sanitization practices so i felt very safe.
I always enjoy going to Koi. The menu has many options and the staff are always attentive of your needs. Would recommend for a couples dinner.
The salmon curry was very flavourful. I asked if they could make my curry spicy and that is exactly what they did. The salmon was done to perfection. The vibe is casual and friendly. I would definitely go back.
Gem of a restaurant with ultra tasty menu items, a definite go-to for a great lunch and excellent service.
Lunch with a cousin I haven’t seen for quite a while. Her first time at Koi and she loved it.
Came to listen to the Jazz band. Overall the place is great. Have been here before.
I found the sauce accompanying the gyoza and the salad dressing that came with the Koi salad to be way too salty! Didn’t enjoy the food because of that. My drink and latte were great. I would come again but not order food. The first time I came I remember not enjoying the food either. Maybe my taste buds.
We wanted to hear live music so picked Koi for an evening out. First time there and what a wonderful place! The band "Jazz Works" was excellent and the food superb. Very friendly and perfect service added to the quality evening. Would highly recommend this fine restaurant for an evening out with friends or just a romantic night with your someone special.
The coconut curry with tofu is a favourite of mine. Great spot for lunch but greatness takes time so give yourself the extra time to dine. :)
They took a reservation for our group through Opentable.ca for the 17th at noon.
We all show up, and they're closed.
Very poor administration and organization. Our group was left scrambling and we wasted taxis and ubers.
Made a reservation on OpenTable for Family Day lunch. Confirmed our reservation the day prior via OpenTable's email reminder. Arrived for our reservation and the place was CLOSED.
Went to see/hear classical guitar music. Music was very good, service was very good and food was very good. All in all a nice evening.
I had made a reservation through Open Table and needed to cancel; I then remade the same reservation as my clients time opened back up. I received confirmation from Open Table that my reservation was secured via email and app but upon arriving at Koi they did not have any record of my reservation and could not seat us. We were eventually seated in the corner of the Sushi counter but was not what we were expecting since a reservation had been secured or so I thought.
Great service. Great food.
The server did not know anything about the menu and did not look up any reservation notes I said. It was my dads birthday and I mentioned that but he did nothing. Poor service. He messed up our order as well.
Will not come again. Meanwhile, there was only one other party in the restaurant at the time.
Absolutely amazing food and drinks! Celebrated my birthday here and despite the small size of the venue, the servers managed to seat all of us at the same table. Incredibly grateful to all the servers for putting so much extra effort into making this a special night for us.
The place did seem understaffed though, which is perhaps more of a note for the owners rather than a comment on the quality of service (which was brilliant!).
The live music was varied and interesting, would definitely go back to see other local artists perform there.
We are beyond disappointed. It appeared that our server was inexperienced. He wanted to take the food order almost immediately before offering us a cocktail. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 mains. After a reasonable time 1 main (rice bowl)arrived. Server told us that the other main would be right up in 60 seconds. Said the appetizers would be along in a few minutes. Some time after I’d finished my rice bowl the second main arrived. The server indicated the appetizers were coming and offered them at no charge. We refused as we were extremely dismayed with the entire experience.
The rice bowl with tofu was marginal. The ramen did not measure up to our homemade version. Turnips ice cold. Maybe supposed to be?
Worst meal experience in recent memory.
Love the food. It is fresh, flavourful and eye catching - great flavours and the value is good. Highly recommend the cauliflower rice with the curry bowls. :)
Good food and service but unfortunately we were unaware of live music performance which made it too loud to converse
I like eating at Koi because there are plenty of healthy options as I am a pescatarian that eats dairy and gluten free. The service is always quite good. I had a rice plate with veggies and salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly - I only wish there was more of it.
We enjoyed the great food and the live music at Koi! There were options for vegans, vegetarians as well as meat-eaters so there was something for every person in our group.
The vibe was really cool, and the music was definitely worth seeing. Koi had nice employees and great drinks. The only problem: We ordered the Banh Mi and the cilantro was used like how lettuce should be. It totally ruined the sandwich and we couldn’t finish it. The ginger tofu, Yams, and Curry were amazing though.
Well priced menu with all entries lower than $20. Excellent curry bowls. Fast friendly service.
Koi was great. The noodle bowl was extremely spicy (runny nose spicy) but the menu did not indicate that there was any spice in the dish, although the noodle bowl did seem to be doused in chili flakes. A guest of mine was not able to handle that level of spice, so she was unable to eat the dish. The chef’s recommendation was to put sugar on the dish to offset the spice... a recommendation for your menu would be to indicate what dishes are and are not spicy, and those that do not like spice will not order it.
We went early no music etc, the food was not worth the visit but would be great if they had good band etc
We had a wonderful evening, with good food, live entertainment and a pleasant atmosphere.
Unfortunately Koi did not have our reservation, arranged through the OpenTable app, and were lucky a single small table was available only inches away from the band. We were so close my date had to move back to make space for the trombone.
That aside, we had a very positive experience.
Wait staff were short handed and they handled it very well. Unfortunately venue is very noisy and had bad acoustics for both conversation and the love music.
i really enjoy the food and ambience. A favourite place for a meal with someone I want to spend some time talking to.
I would recommend based on the delicious food, however the service, not so much. Waited on drinks, waited on food. Very small venue for very big evenings, entertainment wise.
