   I come to Komodo several times per month and bring friends so typically medium group of 5-8 people. Friday I was treated badly by the security person with blonde braids standing by front desk. He constantly pushed me and yelled just at me while letting pretty women push through so he could talk to them. I’m always complimentary and aware of the busy times but this was unnecessary and then later went to lounge upstairs and bought a table and he constantly stared at me and harassed my female friends. I don’t go there to have people be uncomfortable after spending thousands of dollars in one night. It’s not worth it.

   The service was great. The wait staff was very attentive. The food came out very fast and was one after the other (served as prepared). Because of that, we felt that the dinner was very rushed. The food was good and vibes were also good.

   The entire experience was phenomenal!! Our server, Polam, was very well educated on the foods and went above and beyond for us! He was so kind and funny and also very attentive to our table. The food was delicious! Every plate we ordered from the shisitos to truffle lo mein to veggie fried rice and cereal rock shrimp was INCREDIBLE!! 10/10! Can’t wait to go back!

    For someone who eats all around the world, and as bad as some places have been, I have never left a 1 star review. This time changed that… it didn’t have to do with the food, or the atmosphere (which was stunning by the way…), it was a manager named Alfonso who thinks running around the restaurant with a giant CO2 canister blowing it off inches from peoples ears is “what we do here..” besides the tackiness of a greasy guy running through a restaurant with a filthy 2 foot can blowing dust off of the walls into people’s food, it’s ridiculously DANGEROUS. Alfonso blew the thing directly in my ear and I instantly felt a searing pain and couldn’t hear. I asked my server to come help as I was worried he would come back around doing it. Moments later, Alfonso was over at a table laughing and pointing at us, as we were still waiting to talk to the manager. Moments later Alfonso shows up to say that he is the manager and proceeds to offer to call me an ambulance and say “we are not comp’ing your bill, my solution for you is an ambulance…”. What?! Did I say I wanted my bill comp’d? I said I don’t want you to comp my bill, I want you to understand how dangerous it is and that beyond everything- you ruined mr $500 (for two) meal (had drinks while we waited for our table as well). NOT ONCE did he apologize… just kept passive aggressively offering me an ambulance when I told him that wasting an ambulance for people who need it is ridiculous. If I needed to I would go to urgent care. Eventually he walks away (still no apology) and the server comes back with our full bill…. Again, wasn’t expecting it comp’d, but he didn’t remove the $25 dessert we ordered that came out when he blew that in my ear, so we didn’t get to enjoy it. Alfonso the Manager…. I believe in second chances. But you need to pull your head out of your backside and realize that your little gas can trick is lame and dangerous. And perhaps you can apologize to people that were affected by YOUR actions.

    I chose Komodo for my birthday dinner with friends, and ours experience was great 👍 delicious food , excellent service by our Saha, very nice atmosphere I will be back very soon 👍thanks to everyone specially the concierge ambassador Brian Bean for the five stars hospitality ! Oxoxox!

    It would be nice if the front of house staff put a smile on their faces, the first impression was far from welcoming. We received 2 dishes of food before we had even got our cocktails. Their were children screaming and crying and the fans in the outside area were blowing my hair on my face for the whole meal. There was a supervisor telling off a member of staff right behind us in full view of the restaurant and we could hear every word. Disappointing!

    Dave Grutman should start paying people to eat here to get their honest feedback. People are stroking him telling him it’s good. It’s NOT! The service nor the food are quality. If the wait staff had to work for their gratuity it would be a wake up call for them.

    Our server was great. As first time guest at Komodo he recommended great options for us. Before coming into Miami I received a lot of great reviews about the restaurant. I can proudly say that the food lived up to the reviews that was given.

    Although the sushi was the best I’ve ever had, the hot plate apps were ok at best. Service was good. It’s super loud. The busser opened a new bottle of sparkling water every time he poured for us which was weird because we were only two people. The water bottles were actually used on two different tables, ours, and a very drunk table of six guys next to us. I forgot to check how many we were charged for. Still a fun experience, and again, best sushi and sashimi ever. Next time I’ll try the Peking duck from the hot menu instead of just sharing five appetizers after sushi.

    Came here for my fiancées bday & we loved it so much we will def return. The sticky ribs are a must have bc they fall off the bone! The Peking duck & king crab lo mein are amazing! We left full with plenty more to take home! We will be back!

    Been here before and usually this is more of a party spot but the food is at an elevated level with it as well as price to match. Food that’s worth it is always the pecking duck and the sashimis or I guess fish crudos are rlly rlly good. Besides that this place is more of a good time and then you hit the club upstairs after dining or somewhere else… it’s the din to pregame at but not for the sake of saving but for the sake of elevating your pregame.

    We were seated outside and it was very hot and the table next to us there was someone smoking. Definitely prefer the air conditioned inside where you are not sweating and where the food is not warm after all we were eating sushi.

    I would like to start by saying I never leave reviews – I simply do not have time. However, I was compelled to write one because Komodo was one of the worst experiences I have had in Miami. The hostess was incredibly rude and gave us the attitude we were lucky to be there. Mind you I am in my 40s, live in Miami and was taking a friend there for dinner. The food was flavorless, the presentation was pedestrian and the noise level was so loud we could not have a conversation. When it opened it was an amazing place but now I am surprised anyone goes here. There are so many better restaurants in Miami than Komodo. Locals should avoid this restaurant like the plague.
