   Our server was very nice and took as best care of us as he could given the situation. They were busy but not full. Waited over an hour and 20 for sushi, and we had to leave without even eating. We were able to get some appetizers from the kitchen in the mean time however, the meatballs were burnt. My daughter got a bento box, and the burgers were also burnt. Drinks took entirely too long. We had to cancel our dinner order since we already had been there for almost 2 hours, and my daughter was becoming beyond restless and tired. They didn't compensate anything for the wait or the fact that we didn't get to even have dinner. This is my 2nd bad experience at Kona. As great as the menu looks, we will not be returning.

   We had a 6:15pm reservation. We were immediately seated but a server never arrived even for water until 6:55. Finally an hour after we arrived we had our drinks l. We ordered a sushi appetizer and it did not come out until we finished our meal’s about 8:15. The server once there was amazing and she did the best she could with the situation and was very apologetic. For the most part the food was great. The vegetarian sushi however had no flavor at all. Loved the ambience. Just needs work.

   This place has a ton of potential. Great environment in a great location. Service was slow and the food was overcooked. We arrived at 8:45. Put in our drink and app orders at 9:00. We finally got waters at 9:15 and at this point we put our main orders in. We got our initial drinks and apps 40 mins later. Then by 10:15 we got our main meals and it was overcooked. I got the ribs and not one piece of meat was tender. The fries were also overcooked. The manger did apologize for our experience but he was having to apologize to everyone around us. We got the meals taken off thankfully but to get the bill fixed took another 20 mins. We spent more time waiting for food and service than we did actually eating. This environment was great though!

    Arrived for a reservation at 12:30. No one came to check on us or acknowledge us until 12:55 pm. The food was also not as good as it should be for the price. The restaurant was definitely better before. Overall the service was poor, food took way too long and wasn't worth the wait or the price.

    I made a reservation to celebrate my birthday but my that did not occur. My chicken dish was served under cooked. I sent it back and I had to wait 25 minutes for my meal to brought back to me. I was starving and the meal still wasn’t good. The server was very attentive. It took awhile for bar drinks due to flooding in the bar area.

    Our server, Tiana, was excellent. The cocktails were excellent! The food was good not great. The sushi didn’t taste fresh and pad Thai a little dry but chicken dishes and poke bowls were good.

    What a great experience! Great food and outstanding service from Josiah!! We had a party of 8, our food was delicious and it was all delivered to our table at the same time!! Menu has a lot of variety for your large group. Music was fantastic too! Highly recommend!!

    Our food was horrible. They brought out the “medium rare” prime rib we ordered and it was a brick. Totally inedible. The second one they brought out was only marginally better. Very well done. The sea bass we were served hadn’t been seasoned as was raw throughout. The chicken fingers were the consistency of beef jerky. It was a really, really rough experience.

    Timing of food was off. Items that we ordered first came to the table last. The upsetting part was that my son has a tree nut allergy and they brought his chicken tender kids meal and the chicken was covered in a nut breading and it doesn’t mention that on the menu at all.

    Our food, took almost, two hours to come out we could barely hear our waiter speaking to us because she talks very loud and it was super loud in the establishment. My fried rice was crunchy. Our bill came to almost $300 and the the food didn’t match the price or experience.

    We went for Mother’s Day. Decided to return after the new “$1 million renovation.” The atmosphere is less intimate and more open, which I’m assuming contributed to the very loud environment. We ordered simple, calamari appetizer (smallest portion we’ve ever experienced at any restaurant) and sushi with a side of fried rice for lunch. The rice came out long before the sushi, and I had to ask 2x where it was. When it did come one of the dishes was not what we ordered. Once corrected it was not good. We left almost 3 plates of sushi on the table when we left. We did share our feedback with the manager who took off 2 sides and 1 sushi. That was nice but it left members of our party very hungry after spending $130+ on a meal for 4. Not sure we’ll return.

    The waiter- Josiah was great! Great customer service, attentive, and just overall nice! The salmon was over cooked but not bad, the fried rice was so good, and the drinks were excellent!

    Three in our party ordered steaks. Two were supposed to be medium rare and one was supposed to be medium. One of the medium rare was medium. The other medium rare and medium were both at the upper end of medium well. All of the steaks were NY stips and they were all fatty with a lot of hard chewey pieces to them. For the price you pay here we were not expecting the best steaks that we would ever have, but they were worse than what you would get from a chain steakhouse. We would not return to this restaraunt.

    Mother’s Day- it was way too loud- sound like a dance club. We asked for a patio table and we’re told no and asked to sit in a quieter area was also told no. Our table was tight in the center of the loaders part of the restaurant. My daughter did not like her food- too spicy and the manager did offer to remake it and took $10 off the meal. Not the best experience but the manager was nice.

    I choose this place for my birthday . It was a disaster. Before I came I asked do they do happy birthday and the cake saying as i seen advertised. One it took to long to come , it didn’t say happy birthday , the ice cream was melted . They wouldnt seat me untill my guest were ALL THERE. Then told me i had to leave by 7pm . Remind you it’s only 6pm lol Waitress was slow , kept messing up our order . It was a mess! They ruined my birthday . I will never recommend.

    We never got our meal. We left after waiting 25 minutes. It is very noisy. I had reserved an outdoor table and got an indoor instead. It was the worst table in the place with constant traffic from the kitchen. Not relaxing or enjoyable.

    Very cool place. It was very busy which led to a little slower service- to be expected nothing out of the ordinary. The food didn’t quite match the price. The mahi mahi was good, sides were average to below average. An additional side is $9 which is wild and a soda is $4. Spent $130 for the two of us when in reality should’ve been $80-$90.
