Kyo Bar Japonais
Loved the Tasting menu ad the recommended wine pairing. Lots of food and nice service
I am there every week so, that should tell you how satisfied I am.
I take there clients, dates, and me and my team from the Corno Gallery usually celebrate anniversaries at Kyo as well.
Fantastic food and environment. It was packed, and the staff was struggling to keep up. Not sure if that was normal, or just an overwhelming night. But I would go back for sure for the food!
Excellent restaurant, service rapide et beau décor!!
I just moved to Montreal and wanted some quality sushi.
Excellent quality of fish, definitely in a class by itself.
Will go back again. Great lunch and also can accommodate groups.
Food good but standard. A bit overpriced for the quality and quantity, but it is in a tourist area and near the Convention Center. Recommend, but not super-special.
Although we found the acoustics and noise level hard to hear things around the table, every bit of food ordered by our table was outstanding. The sushi was melt-in-your-mouth excellent quality served at the right temperature (not cold) with good rice quality and thickness. We had sashimi, nigiri, and sushi and everything including the service was top notch.
Our food was very good. We are shocked that the restaurant is serving escolar fish/white tuna. It makes people have gastrointestinal issues. It has been banned in Japan since the 1970's.
Other than that we all enjoyed our food.
Food was fantastic. Great friendly atmosphere with knowledgeable staff. Overalll a positive experience.
The Izakaya style dishes were much better than the sushi so maybe Kyo should ditch the fresh fish altogether. Service was professional and warm though somewhat over effecient. The atmosphere was lively and fun.
The food was excellent but on the pricey side. One of the good sushi places in Montreal specially if you want good sake with that. The waiter was very nice and professional, he knows his products and recommended a sake to go with food that really matched. I would go there again but when i intend to spend some money on my meal.
Fantastic quality of fresh sashimi and wide variety of really delicious sushi
All was very good, and the waitress was very kind.
The food was amazing, try the noddles soool good!!!
We were at the terrace and it is very nice to seat there enjoying some drinks, watching notre dame and people walking by.
Definitely a place to come back.
Perfect after a long day of walking around Montreal. Food was delicious!
Trop bruyant mais très bon service . Les poissons sont frais.
good food. poor service. impossible to talk over the noise and loud music. the establishment and staff seemed more concerned with turning our table than customer service.
Tous les plats étaient vraiment gras même le dessert
Our first time at Kyo - it was excellent! We ate outside - it was a beautiful early evening dinner - felt like a tourist in our own city. Lovely attentive service - delicious sushi - salad - veggie spring roll - chicken gyoza - all very tasty and beautifully presented.
Good food and lovely atmosphere. Beautiful location next to Notre Dame square. Has outdoor seating but inside is more lively. Service is slow. Food comes fast but drinks were really delayed. Friendly service but they need more servers.
This was our first time at Kyo.
We reserved a table beforehand and were served very quickly.
We decided to go with their food and sake tasting menu.
Our server took his time and explained the differences between the types of sake that were served.
Our waitress explained the ingredients and the manner of cooking of all 9 dishes that were served.
The dishes were served in a timely manner; we never waited too long despite the restaurant being very busy.
The atmosphere was great: the music was not too loud or too quiet. We were still able to have a conversation without shouting at each other.
Overall we were very pleased with our stay and will come back again.
Très bons sushis, super rapport qualité/prix, excellent emplacement!
Très ordinaire. Ne se compare pas aux restaurants japonais de qualité à Montréal.
Very nice ambiance. The food was excellent. Truly a great dining experience.
Tasty guioza and sushis, takoyaki was ok.
Awesome tasting menu
We enjoyed the food and the personalized service. Thank you for catering to Celiacs.
Horrible service! It took us an hour to get 2 chicken skewers... we were starving the whole time. The sushi was mediocre at best. Very disappointing and not worth the expensive prices.
One of our friends hurt his back so he didn’t come with us. We feel really sorry for him cuz he just missed a great meal. The black cod is the most popular dish, which tastes delicious with the special sauce. The chef’s sashimi is fresh. I will recommend KYO to all of my friends.
Our first time to Kyo. We were in Montreal for the Jazz festival. This was a good location in Old Montreal to stop for dinner after a night of listening to jazz. Cozy, romantic atmosphere. Servers were very attentive and explained the menu. Loved the tapas style concept. We chose 5 items. One was better than the next. Also had a nice wine selection to choose from. This is a must do when visiting Montreal.
Food ok, ordinary. Told server we needed to go to a show, gave him plenty of time & notice , he did not respect us.
Another server came by & got us our food & were able to be on time.
The service was outstanding! Food and drinks were phenomenal! I would certainly go back next time I visit Montreal.
A very lively spot with a menu with a lot of variety.
Très bon repas, bien présenté par un agréable serveur. Ses suggestions ont été apprécié. La dégustation de 4 différents sakés nous a charmés. Mon seul bémol : la musique trop forte.
Sushi was average , noodles were good. Service was a bit slow. Not our best experience..
Great assortment of Asian foods. Always reliable. Good bar.
Service was disappointing. Food was ok. We had to wave the waitstaff to fill up our waters. The edamame was overcooked (soggy) and oversalted. The sashimi salad had excellent quality fish. However, the kitchen forgot to add the dressing. It took too long to find any waitstaff, and we waited so long for the food to arrive.
very good food, great value for money
The food is alright. Fish was really fresh but the value for money was really low. The bill for 2 came to $150 and I wasn’t full by the time I left. The atmosphere and the store design is fantastic
