We look forward to welcoming you to La Banane.
Once again you have exceeded our expectations! My husband and I took our friend for his Birthday dinner and it was exactly what we had boasted it would be. Fantastic food, served by the most hospitable team in a super switched on setting! Thank you again!
While I appreciate the effort required to create the ziggy stardust egg, I felt like I was personally robbed of 50 bucks when I opened it up to find little to nothing of any value or quality inside.
The rest of the menu was very good and reasonably priced for a high end place. It’s just the ziggy stardust egg that left me with a sour taste in my mouth.
The Beef tartare was the best I have ever had... The French omelette was average. Oysters were solid. Fois gras was good.. service was outstanding and the ambience was nice. I’d venture back.
Great atmosphere. Great service. Food is good except there's too much sauce. Half the dishes are sitting in a pool of sauce. Foie gras completely overpowered by the sauce. Sweetbreads and beef tenderloin swimming in sauce. Strange.
Superbe! Wonderful vibe, staff, and cocktails! Duck to die for!
La Banane provided exceptional service and delicious food. Thank you for the epic birthday dinner!
The fresh shrimp & scallops are outstanding. Foods are a great taste. Above average than most of the French Cuisines. Worth the price will definitely come again.
It was a lovely evening. A charming and attentive staff, terrific food, lovely atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you
Great, Chic Place with great portions! Olivia really made our night!
Never fail to have a fabulous evening out at la banana. Good food, great space and great company makes for a fun evening for sure!
Fantastic restaurant and atmosphere. The food is phenomenal.
We order the mini platter which came with 8 oysters, 5 shrimp with cocktail sauce, raw scallops in a divine garlic buttermilk sauce, marinated mussels, and lobster! We also ordered the crowd pleaser, the sea bass. We are so happy that we did! It was in the most delicious beurre blanc. The type of beurre blanc that you wish they made barrels enough to take home and have for the rest of your life. The fish was perfectly cooked and despite all the butter in the sauces, we felt that the freshness of everything else made the meal balanced and our stomach quite satisfied. To finish off the unforgettable dining experience was the banana torte, simply delicious!
We will be back very soon!
The whole experience was wonderful! The service was super, the food was amazing, and we had such a great birthday dinner.
La Banane is hands down one of my favourite restaurants in the city. The food is always outstanding, service warm and friendly, the atmosphere is fantastic- perfect for a small group or an intimate, romantic dinner. This is one restaurant that never disappoints.
I definitely will recommend La Banane, and I will return.
Seating arrangements were varied with pleasurable space for patrons. Great decor.
The menu had a good range to choose from, plus it offered several eating style options from tapas to a full entree. Out meals were served to the perfect temperature.
Good service makes an excellent meal become an excellent experience. Our wait staff were informative, attentive and politely discreet.
It was an expensive meal, but well worth it.
The food and service are absolutely great!
A very nice restaurant that I would love to go back again!
Food was great staff were very knowledgeable about each dish and the bartender was a 10
Delicious food, excellent wine, charming staff. Loved La Banane.
Food was marginal at best. Supposedly a French restaurant. However nothing typically French to speak of being offered. The fried chicken looked like an order from Colonel Sanders and just as unappealingly presented. My filet was nothing but a solid piece of meat swimming in a pool of brown sauce. Nothing we ate was particularly mouth-wateringly good, but rather quite tasteless. The noise level was ridiculously loud as in most restaurants of today. The music was much too loud. The service, however, was excellent, the servers all being charming young people and quite attentive to patrons’ needs. Will not be recommending this restaurant, nor will we be returning. It just seems like the latest new “hot spot” being sheepishly frequented by the trend followers.
CAN`T WAIT TO RETURN
Me and my husband loved the place.
The service was excellent and so was the food. Unique recipes. We will come back for sure.
La Banane is absolutely superb!!! Best seafood platter in the city.
We love it there and reserve it for special occasions.
The food was delicious, the cocktails were yummy, the service was terrific, and the decor was very funky and upscale. And they carefully accommodated multiple food allergies. Loved it.
Unusual set up in that one side wall is made of booths facing the bar. Booths are large and one-sided so lots of room for 4. Service was excellent. The food is certainly also excellent but very pricey (Agnolotti pasta covered in truffle oil was $40). Interestingly the only "less expensive" item on the menu - the buttermilk chicken at $18 wasn't available. But if price isn't a factor - the food, service, location, ambiance are all wonderful.
It was great
From the ambiance, service and the incredible food this is a top-notch restaurant in Toronto. I am so glad that I spent my dinner time on a short trip to Toronto here! I highly recommend and I am still thinking of the food I ate a week later.
We went for Valentines Day 2019 and it was an unforgettable night! The food was unreal - we had the tasting menu which I would highly suggest. The beef tartare is amazing. Definitely recommend :)
Fine dining done in a "Carlito's Way" atmosphere. No I'm not Banana's but, maybe I am to liken this restaurant a DePalma film, but it is so fitting. Beautiful, sexy, chocolate banquets, starburst like murals on the walls, and 70's and 80's Soul music as the soundtrack, gorgeous. Now for the food, they specialize in seafood and it is evident in the variety and the spot on preparation and presentation of the seafood dishes. But I cannot forget to recommend the Brando's fried chicken, it is one of the best fried chicken I have tasted in this non Southern city. The service is attentive without being distracting, informative and patient. No question goes unanswered and advice is given without arrogance or condensation. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Certain dishes were phenomenal while others were a bit weak. Sort of hit or miss depending on what you order. Ambience was fantastic and I loved the large cozy booths!
Best service we have experienced in Toronto! Good was good too
Absolutely amazing!! Service, vibe and amazing food. Will definitely be back!
The atmosphere is really nice , next time I wld ask to be seated in the “dining room “ area. Food was delish however found the prices a wee bit overpriced for what you get. Service was excellent & very friendly. Music is background is really good(disco) noise level was really high and at times hard to hear
Great bang-for-buck ratio, good service, nice ambiance. Carte blanche is definitely worth a shot. Just remember you will share everything, so these are not individual portions, it’s fun to share though :). You must try raw scallops, so fresh, sweet and tender.
Great ambience and service right on point (courteous, knowledgeable, polite and amiable).
What a lovely place. Everything about the evening was great. the food was terrific and the staff are truly top notch. Cheers to Sasha who made us some delicious drinks and kept us entertained. Highly recommend!
It was one of my best dinners out in Toronto to date (been here almost 10 years). The place has a great feel, the service was professional but personal and just the right amount of casual. The food was beautifully presented & tasted even better. The cocktails were also pretty darn delicious. I’ll definitely be back.
Landed another date! So good I guess....
She tells me.... the only thing that landed me another date was the restaurant. ;)
the seafood tower is a must. Best Shrimp I think I have ever had. Excellent! We will be back!
The restaurant is classier in person than the photos, I would say French with a hint of Caribbean. I enjoyed myself as I had great company and the servers were lovely, but the food missed the mark. A dish was either too sweet, too dry, or bland. The restaurant seems service first, presentation second, and food third. I would try another dish again before recommending. I expect better food for the price.
Went there to celebrate my wife's birthday. From the moment we stepped in we were treated exceptionally well.
Our waiter was very well versed in the menu and could describe small nuances to us which helped us decide on what to eat. Which was challenging because everything on their menu sounded delicious.
Each course of food was unique in its own way in terms of taste and flavours. Service throughout the night was attentive without being intrusive. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy a unique experience.
