Amazing cocktail and nice waiter. We were at the front and the AC was way too high so we were really freezing... food was really good.
Underwhelming from what one would expect. Our meal was either overly salty or bland. The duck breast was ok, but not that great in comparison to our other dining experiences.
Tuna - overly salty
Steak tartare - delicious, no baguette or toasts accompanied, just spoonfuls of tartare. Would not have ordered this if that was the case.
Duck breast - perfectly cooked, prune reduction was ok. Again underwhelming.
Chicken- best thing we dined on, however, how is this French inspired???
We were looking for a more French inspired menu and left a bit confused.
I hope that this was just an off night.
The service was impeccable and we loved the atmosphere.

Das ist ein tolles Restaurant mit Schwerpunkt Austern, Lobster und Crabs, man kann aber auch was anderes bestellen. Die Karte ist klein aber fein. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, die Atmosphäre ist lebendig, das Essen ist excellent!!!

I thought the atmosphere at the restaurant was great. I thought there was too many People dancing around the table pouring water and asking how things are. I thought that the scallops raw were really good and i thought the rapini was outstanding. The presentation of the food was Great especially the crab risotto was Well presented. The maincourses were good but not outstanding. lobster ravioli, crab risotto were too rich. You know how the Italians call the French_ butter barbarians. I think that was evident in the main courses. I would recommend the restaurant to an old person who loves French from like a bygone era.

We loved the food and the attentive service. Also pleased to see that the menu was just one page. All staff was very knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine list. It was a great birthday dinner experience.

Le point faible de la soirée a été le service. Service expéditif. La serveuse nous a pas fait gouté les vins et pas présenté les bouteilles. Nous avons senti les serveurs absents et on nous a pas demandé si tout allait bien. On m’a offert le verre de bière car il a fallu qu’il change le baril, ce fut apprécié. Les plats étaient bon et savoureux mais un peu trop salés. Le canard un coriace et le poulet frit excellent. Étant moi-même en restauration, j’avais entendu beaucoup de bien sur le resto. Je serai prêt à y retourner. Musique très forte.

Food was good although a little pricey for how much you are given. Main course took 45 minutes to arrive however we were compensated with 2 free nonalcoholic beverages.
Wonderful as always. Sat at the bar and brought a friend who has not been before.

Great seeing Brandon after so many years. Food was fantastic and it was nice to enjoy the great food with work colleagues. Looking forward to the next visit (we missed out on the Black Cod :(

Desserts amazing and a fantastic staff
With such a limited menu you would think that everything was good. The Southern chicken was not nearly as good as KFC but was 5 times the price. The Liver and onions was not good. I should have asked for a refund on these two dishes. Everything else was satisfactory but for $222 for two people (not drinking that much) I wont be going back here.

The seafood, asparagus, mushrooms and Bibb salad we had was delicious and the service was attentive but unobtrusive. All in all an incredible dining experience. Also we would highly recommend the Disco Egg for dessert!!!
The food was amazing and so was our server! One person in our party had an allergy our server spoke to the chef to ensure her meal would not include citrus.
The only thing I found odd was we were 10 minutes early for our reservation and the hostess told us to leave and come back in 10 minutes, instead of offering us a seat at the bar and we will seat you as soon as we’re ready. Just odd!!

Great restaurant. Service was very attentive. The food was amazing. The Eurobass was out of this world. The Ziggy Stardust disco egg was lots of fun and a nice dessert surprise. Lobster ravioli was so-so. Otherwise everything else we tried was excellent.
Bathrooms were very stylish and worth a visit.

I had very high expectations based off the reviews . The food was excessively salty. I do not normally complain but the food was inedible. We had to leave and eat somewhere else. It was unfortunate because I really wanted to love it there.
My husband and I went to La Banane for our wedding anniversary and it exceeded our expectations. Fantastic food, friendly staff, great drinks - will definitely be back! Time for Thyme cocktail with thyme infused gin was addictive. King crab was delicious. Steak au poivre and duck breast were both amazing and cooked to perfection. Can't wait to go back!

Wonderful Food and Terrific Service
This was our first time dining at La Banane and all four of us can’t wait to go back. The dishes we ordered were beautifully presented and delicious. When we arrived we ordered some cocktails. Some of the cocktails we loved were the Hemingway Daquiri, the Bergamot Sidecar and the Cat’s Pajamas. While we were having our cocktails, we were presented with some warm salted pretzels in the shape of branches. These were delicious. For our appetizers, two of us ordered a dozen oysters from out East and they were fabulous. They were fresh and served with lemon and 3 different sauces. One person ordered the seared foie gras, and another member of our party ordered the liver and onions and both thought these dishes were amazing. For our mains, one person ordered the Lobster Ravioli and the rest of us ordered the Eurobass en croute. The Eurobass is a beautifully creative one-of-a-kind dish. It is a whole fish that is wrapped in a latticed pastry crust. The dish was presented at our table and then taken back to the kitchen where it was carved and then returned to the table and served with yuzu beurre blanc and zucchini. I would suggest ordering a side of beets with candied walnuts and blue cheese to go with the Eurobass. For dessert we had the Banane Gateaux served warm and it was delectable. All of our dishes were creatively presented and memorable. They also have an extensive wine list that compliments the food. The food is fabulous and so is the staff. I would like to thank Kate and Daniel for their knowledgeable, professional and attentive service. They helped make our dining experience fun. We look forward to our next visit to La Banane. If you are looking for an excellent French restaurant with creatively prepared and presented cuisine, then La Banane should be on your list.
The menu selection is devoid of any filler. All entrees and mains are cream of the crop specialties. Do not be afraid to try something you wouldn't normally try. The service is exemplary, so long as you listen and take their suggestions. Don't go to this restaurant if you like to tell your servers and the kitchen how you want your food done. These are top professionals, allow them to do their job and it will be a delicious night to remember. I have to highlight the omelette with fine herbs and the Eurobass as the most splendid surprises of the night. Night at the ballet was our favourite cocktail. Chef Brandon Olsen has taken his craft (and the staff along with him) to new dining heights that few toronto-based restaurants can attest to. What a fantastic night.
Came to La Banane to celebrate my husband's birthday. We both enjoyed it! Everything was wonderful, will recommend to family and friends.
