Food was good, but experience was ruined by the waitress repeatedly calling me “love.” Condescending, offensive, and completely inappropriate in this day and age to refer to a female customer as “love.”
This is Alex and Sayu. Food was great and so was the service! We've been to most of the authentic French restaurants and this one was really good in comparison.
Though a bit disappointed with no mentioned of happy hours before 10 mins we ordered. The crepe tasted really fantastic and their homemade dessert will definately worth a try!!
The food from the dine-out menu were really bad: the clams in seafood steamer were just bad by smell; the salmon was really dry; a tiny piece of hard bread for each person without butter or anything; the wait time was too long; small portion for each dish - everyone was still hungry after three courses. We will never go there again.
Excellent service and food presentation! It was fabulous!
It is very easy to locate. The bus No 99 has a stop near the restaurant. The food is delicious. It is a good place for friends gathering
You definitely come here for the food, not the service. The restaurant is quaint. Very popular with a more seasoned crowd. The food is delicious, but the service: we waited at the door with the hostess's back towards us for 10 mins, she was very brash when she did seat us finally, we weren't given drink menus, we had to grab a random server to order because no-one attended to us, we asked for 1 coffee refill three times, they screwed up the bill and then it took ages to pay. From working in the service industry, it was clear to me that their management needs to train staff better or just hire staff that aren't students maybe? They couldn't give a fiddler's f*ck about the guest's experience... and we were expecting a nice French restaurant. But the food is amazing!
Always great quality food and been pleasantly surprised when trying new dishes! Love coming here.
Christmas Eve dinner. Very good everything was perfect
It could you something in the decoration to dampen the noise. Unfortunately the noise level experienced during our meal made it so difficult to hear each other. It was unfortunate as we all felt the food was great.
Service and food were very good and we would return
Wonderful service & superb food! Always enjoy coming to La Brass for a great experience.
Excellent food and service. Will be a repeat customer.
The noise level was alarming on first entry but gradually lessened as other guests left. Serviced was good but a little too anxious to please at times. Food generally very good.
Met a friend for lunch. Great service. Great food. Great ambience
Went here for an anniversary dinner. Was really busy so I would recommend making a reservation. We were seated to our table and it took a long time before someone brought us water and then took our drink order. Once we ordered the food came out relatively quickly. Overall food was good. Ordered the Cauliflower, escargot and meatballs to start. The escargot was excellent, meatballs were good and I wouldn't order the cauliflower. For mains we ordered the prawns and duck. Both were good and flavorful, the prawns were a bit oily and the duck leg was slightly dry.
A decent menu with good options and starters that can be shared. The wine list is adequate, but like many places prices per glass are creeping up
Enjoyed the lamb shack and the tuna special with my friend. It was more quiet at start because more people came afterwards. Overall not bad.
Took a friend for lunch for her birthday. Both had beautiful omelettes. Service was terrific very quiet for lunchtime
Lovely staff - from the warm welcome at the door, to the food and wine recommendations. Delicious meal in a beautiful place.
As has been our experience since moving into the neighbourhood two year ago, La Brass has never disappointed us; while giving us something new and delectable to try, each time we have dined there.
Tasty food !!
Off to a rocky start when we were greeted by a server who seemed a bit miffed that we used open table to book. She walked off in huff and then another gentleman had to help us. I said if they didn’t have a table to accommodate us (4 people) it was fine and we can dine some place else.
Not our first time here...we’ve been here for lunch brunch and dinner. Didn’t look like they had enough wait staff.
Overall food is good. Service wise needs a bit of polishing.
Service was prompt and friendly on a busy Sunday evening. Loved the round table for 6 people. Menu selections were extensive. Portions were generous. Food was flavorful and well executed, although a tad heavy on the salt overall. We enjoyed the fact that there was no blaringly loud music so that we could have a good conversation over dinner. Dessert selections were somewhat limited compared to the rest of the menu. Nice ambience overall.
Delicious main courses - especially the rack of lamb and the shrimp risotto. Our server was helpful and not intrusive, the options for most courses were well balanced and not overwhelming. Perhaps one extra dessert option would round out an excellent set of choices.
The food is outstanding: meat balls, crab cakes, rack of lamb, prawn Brass, halibut special, creme brûlée, etc all fantastic! The chef did an amazing job.
Food is good. Service is better.
We frequently go to La Brass and each time the food, the service and the experience is beyond good. I can honestly say we have never experienced a poor meal. The prices are also fair. I would definitely recommend La Brass to any who may be looking for a small comfortable restaurant offering great food.,
Excellent and friendly service. Delicious food - we happened to have the halibut which was done perfectly - and the accompaniments were truly complimentary. This is Comfortable fine dining. Every time I dine here I wonder why I don’t do it more often!
Brandade entree portion was so generous in salt cod and potato puree with 2 small pieces of toast that it made each bite very salty. Otherwise the service, food and experience was wonderful.
A long-time fan of its predecessor, Provençal Grill, and knowing that a sous-chef from the latter was still at the new(ish) premises, we were overdue at La Brass for a try-out. We were not disappointed. Excellent food and wine, very efficient and pleasant service, and a pleasing quiet atmosphere (I hate it when noise levels are so high that one cannot hear oneself speak). Highly recommended.
We met up with family and had a great meal which everyone enjoyed - especially the garlic lovers amongst us!
We live in the neighbourhood and love going to La Brass. The food is always excellent and the service as well. It must be a good place to work as the staff have been there for some time.
Food and service excellent. Enjoy the steak and husband had duck confit. Think the interior needs updating.
Charming interior, exceptional service and excellent food/menu. The brunch menu is fabulous and I cannot wait to return to try lunch or dinner at La Brass.
The staff was amazing, going above and beyond. The food was out of this country, akin to the fine dining of Paris. Loved the twist taken on traditional and classic dishes, and such as the escorgots. Thank you for an awesome dining experience, even with a rambunctious toddler.
We had the calamari salad and halibut special. Both were delicious.
Lovely food and reasonably priced. Glad the music was kept low and relaxing, not blasting us out of our seats. Waite was helpful and didn’t feel rushed at all. Husband us fussy about mouse level and says he would definitely go back. Yeah!
A neighbourhood gem. Very good food and service. They are always happy to accommodate special food requests.
Food is so-so.
