La Brasserie Ratings and Reviews
Family brunch (age range 16 to 86) all very happy with food choices
We ended up a smaller group then anticipated - no problem. We cancelled the reservation and sat at the bar - no problem. We mentioned we had to get in and out quickly - no problem. Staff was friendly - food was great. Highly recommend this place and will come again when we have more time to savour the experience.
LOVED the steak and fries! Beer flight was great too
Made a reservation the day before for 5 people and they were completely unprepared for us. Luckily it wasn't very busy at on Sunday for Brunch around 12:30 and they added an extra seat to a table of 4. Then they moved us to a bigger table when the place emptied out. Overall not particularly impressed by the service or food and especially by the lack of awareness of the reservation. Why even be on this site if you don't check. Food was ok but overpriced and small portions
La Brasserie has been one of my favorites since they opened, but had not been in a few years. Everything was as I remembered but the service was horrible - the server was pleasant enough but was not paying attention to empty glasses or attentive at all. We would have liked wine with our meal after pre-dinner cocktails but didn't come over to ask. This was disappointing as we were there celebrating our birthdays and I expected much more based on my many previous dining experiences here.
Great French bistro for and experience
We were there 4 years ago on vacation and I researched my old visa charges to recall the name. We were again vacationing in Vancouver so returned to the restaurant. It was exactly as I remembered it. Excellent ambience great service and mussels that were as big as golf balls and melted in your mouth! One of my favorite restaurants in the world. Prices are very reasonable and the neighborhood is festive and fun.
Great good and GREAT service. Our Second time there and was even better
the food was good, not outstanding but certainly won't disappoint you; the service was very friendly , just a little bit too noisy for my taste,I would recommend this restaurant to whom looking for a a place with good dishes for good friends, but not get your wallet robbed. I really enjoy the alcohol free beer they offered.
We've never had a bad meal here. The service is always top notch, and so is the food. The same items have been on the menu for years, but they have changed slightly over time. Their steak frites is amazing! One of the best places on Davie, bar none.
We had a craving for moules frites and they delivered. Bread and vegetable sides come with plenty of butter.
It's always a treat at la brasserie
Nice little Restaurant which tries to cook french, but does not succeed.
Salade Nicoise was a very small affair without anchovis (?) and the tuna was hidden in a sauce (?). Definetly to tiny to share.
The mussels were big ones but a little on the downside from freshness to muffy.
The mousse au chocolat (very small again) was served together with peanutbutter!!!!, what a great shame, that should be done never.
Alltogether we spent for two with a bottle of rose' wine nearly 170$, that was not worse it.
It was my birthday. We were sat next to a crying child. The waitress never smiled once
she obviously didn't like what she was doing. Overall we didn't enjoy the evening
This small restaurant has some great food, classic French cuisine all well prepared
Looked forward to dining here, but they must have changed ownership. The best thing on the menu, mushrooms with spaetzle, was gone. The veal was overcooked and tough. The chicken was dry. Just not the same. Won't be returning.
One hit, one miss. Bavette steak & frits, perfect. Lamb cheeks niggardly portion, served on an enormous portion of pureed squash. Hot squash, lukewarm kale, warm-ish scant protein.
Always enjoy Brasserie food. The bar is fun for two as you can watch food prep.
One of those neighborhood gems you hope to find but rarely do. This is the real deal.
The service was friendly and accomadating. The food was beautifully plated and tasted just as good! I will definately come again during my next trip to Vancouver!
I must say I was so surprised by our dinner. We were challenged to find a restaurant Not participating in Dine Out and found this on Open Table. The food was amazing! Especially notable were the mussels and the steak tartar. Wow; the best I've had anywhere of both those things. I had the lamb cheeks, braised and very rich and tasty; the carrot and potato mash was excellent.. My son had the veal and it was a bit disappointing. I think staying true to the french cuisine would be the recommendation.
This place is great! The service and food was fantastic.
We changed the reserv to Sunday Brunch 11 AM for three. But this still showing as 6 PM. Fantastic Brunch . Excellent waitress Georgia. Very happy Larry B
Waited 45 minutes after being seated. No service. FYI: this is a no bread place.
