La Bussola has been serving Kelowna since 1974 and is proud to boast the largest wine selection in the Okanagan today. La Bussola is owned and operated by the Coccaro family; Lauretta Coccaro the chef & owner operates the restaurant with her son Luigi Coccaro.     Limited menu, but with specials. We shared 2 appies and a main - plenty. We were in a bit of a rush for a show, so no desert. This was our first time at La Bussola and we will go again.

    Everything was delicious. Baked oysters had a great texture. Escargot was done perfectly and great presentation. The mushroom risotto was perfectly cooked. Everyone loved the clam linguine and the chicken was tender with a very good texture and very well seasoned. Highly recommend.

    We have always enjoyed La Bussola, actually since the 70’s and can tell you we have never been disappointed. The family is lovely, the restaurant is beautiful and the foods outstanding! Thanks for another lovely dining experience. Cheers!

    This is tough to review. So many great reviews brought us to La Bussola but overall we were a little disappointed. The ambiance and service were very good but the food was average. In particular, the prawn risotto special. Since it was called prawns, I expected large prawns but it was filled with tiny 1/4 inch shrimp like those from a can. The taste was very blah. In addition, we had actually asked to order the clam linguine but replace clam with prawns and we were given a hard no. That the prawns were reserved for the special. As I ordered the special instead then, I ended up eating the same shrimp so not sure why this couldn’t be accommodated. To be honest, most Italian restaurants we eat at are so great at adjusting orders, this was very disappointing to not even be given an option of a small change. The menu is also a bit limited but food was prompt, nice and hot and good environment. Just be prepared not to be treated very special.

    We really enjoyed our evening, especially the attentive service. The group appreciated the veal parmigiana, and the Gorgonzola risotto was interestingThe zucchini flowers were spectacular. Lovely quiet atmosphere.

    The dinner was exceptional, Ragu, Risotto, Gnocchi, Lasagna were well prepared and appropriately size. Sauces were creamy and flavourful. One of the best Italian dinners we’ve has in quite a while. Well done!

    We thought the food was just okay. Sorry. It was a beautiful restaurant with great ambiance. The menu was pricey and am okay with that if the food reflects that - but all of us thought our meals were just so-so.

    always an amazing experience at la bussola! incredibly helpful staff, outstanding food & a beautiful welcoming environment. the specials & wine are always top tier, along with great service & a short wait time, we are never rushed & food arrives quickly. Lauretta’s gnocchi is a must have!

    Have always enjoyed this restaurant, but perhaps the chef showed up late tonight! The whole place waited at least 90 minutes for the main courses to come out. Would have been reasonable if the wait staff kept glasses full and guests informed. We’ll probably give it another chance, because normally the kitchen is very efficient.

    We always look forward to dinner at La Bussola when we visit Kelowna. I wish we visited more often than once a year because we would make this a destination every visit. The owner/chef Loretta never disappoints except when a dish is so popular that they run out of it. Sommelier Mike is knowledgeable and always helps us choose an appropriate wine for our food selections. Thank you for a great meal!

    A lovely room, good service, good wine list, however, they need to add more bottles of wine in the $60 to $80 range…my husband had the boar ragu and I had another pasta dish…disappointed that some classic pasta dishes were not on their menu, like spaghetti alio y olio, carbonara, gnocchi with a creamy Gorgonzola sauce… Kelowna sadly has few first class Italian restaurants, and this may be the best one in Kelowna…

My wife and I are blown away by the price of fine dinning their or going to a trendy franchise. I spent the same or less eating there as I do at the franchise on the water.     Beautiful service and food. I give them 5 stars but I have to say that the service is very slow. Be prepared to wait between appetizers and entree. It is because the chef prepares everything at the moment and it's worthy. Go with no rush and enjoy the variety of wines they have. Wonderful service given by Agustine, as well as, the somellier. This restaurant is a must. Not cheap but it is worthy.
