   We dined at La Carnita for a bday. We were a large party of 11 people. Overall it was a great evening - the food was great and absolutely delicious. The only thing was the service was a little slow - especially at the start - it took forever to just get our first drinks. But otherwise it was a very fun evening.

   We arrived on time for our reservation and were left standing at the door for over 5 minutes until we moved halfway into the restaurant then a server brought us to our table. There was only two others tables in use. Server was nice but not very attentive. Food was not great. We had ribs (which where the best part of the meal) my son had chips and guac. We had two tacos each and we didn't enjoy either. Overwhelming flavors and not very appetizing. Very disappointed. Wouldn't go again

   Menu very scarce. The food was crap. The only good thing was the eight spice shrimp. The service was decent. The ambiance was okish. Not going back. I went to the Mississauga location before and was disappointed with the food that time as well. Not sure why I agreed to spend my money at this restaurant again.

   I booked a reservation for my birthday and was seated 45 mins later. My husband and I ordered 2 Ceasars to start which tasted like water with a splash of tomato juice, and we received them after 30 mins. After an hour passed and no one was available to take our order we had to ask for the bill in fear of not being able to order or receive our food in the next 2 hours. I was looking forward to my birthday dinner and wasn't able to enjoy it at all and left hungry and disappointed in paying $35+ for tomato water. I wish I had more good things to say about this location because I love the food I've ordered at other locations. I am too traumatized to return. Good luck everyone.

   Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The food was super spicy, the tacos had too much pineapple flavour and different mixes that did not go well together. The only good thing was the nachos. The tres leches cake & churros were also not the best. The service was very slow and waitress did not know anything about the food or mention any specials for the night. Would not recommend going here

   I went in on a Friday night and had reservations from ahead of time and had informed them from a week before that my 2 kids aged 10 and 6 would be there. It is evident that the restaurant is either majorly understaffed, or just has poor operational design overall. When I arrived, there was a line up of people with resos, who hadn’t been attended to. There was no hostess at the front and I had to go inside to seek someone to attend to the growing lineup at the front where there is limited space. Once we were finally seated, there was no one who came to serve us at a reasonable time. Once again we had to request someone to come take our order. The food took an outrageous amount of time to come, again my kids were the only children in the entire place and I found it a bit lacking in common sense for management not to accommodate a family. It also took forever to get someone to settle our bill. Once again it was one bill so not at all a challenging request. I had to go seek our waitress to settle the bill. I had requested deserts to go while settling the bill, and there seemed to be a disconnect between the orders placed and the kitchen. They later said one of the items was not available. Again this wasn’t communicated when I placed the order. So additional time was taken up to get the dessert to go. It was absolutely one of the worst services I’ve ever experienced in my whole entire life. I had been to other locations and didn’t experience this. The food was mediocre at best but perhaps the service just overshadowed even the taste of the food. I would not be returning ant this location ever again!

    La Carnita used to be the go to spot for yummy taco's in the city but that last two times I have been, the food and drinks have been mediocre at best. At first, I thought it might be a result of the pandemic, new staff, etc but I think the quality has simply changed over the years.

    Normally am a big fan, last night made a reservation for 5:45, and didn’t receive our drinks until 6:50. Our food had all come out already (cold), and some of us were finished our food before the first round of drinks even came. Server was not apologetic at all and actually mentioned nothing about it.     Only appeared to be staffed with two servers, so it seemed overwhelming. Virtually no tuna was even on my tuna ceviche tosdada and cashed myself out via the debit terminal (bill split in half).

    Had an 8:15pm reservation- arrived on time and was told “a few people have stayed longer than expected…can we seat you at the bar to wait?” We agreed, sat at the bar and ordered 1 double tequila. 35 minutes later and NOTHING- the hosts never came back to give an update, we were completely ignored. While waiting, we noticed the people that were already seated when arrived still didn’t have any food or drinks! After being there for 45 minutes completely ignored we paid $37 Dollars for the 1 drink and got out of there. What a waste of time.

    The food is great. We went there for happy hour and people who don’t know please note that not all tacos are $5. They only do fish tacos for happy hour at $5 per taco. The experience was good, but the server kept punching in the wrong order. Overall a 5.5/10 because the value does not justify the quantity.

    I usually love La Carnita but last night we had the worst service I’ve ever experienced. We were seated for an hour and a half before the waiter took our order. Several people got the wrong things and several people didn’t get anything until we asked where their food was. He said he would come back for drink orders but didn’t and he kept forgetting drinks we did order. We were there for over 2.5 hours and we were only asked if we wanted drinks twice. I don’t usually complain but we did end up talking to the manager, who was nice but blamed it on having several new hires. Said if we came back we’d be treated better. It was all very disappointing and put a damper on my birthday. I don’t think we will be back anytime soon, which is a shame because the food is delicious. We were a large group but if you can’t handle a table of 12, then don’t take the reservation.

    The food was tasty, however it took a very long time for our group of 6 people to get food and drinks. All the food and drinks came out one at time which made everyone wait for others to get their orders. We also ordered multiple of the same margarita at the table and they were very different from each other. The restaurant wasn't very busy - there were only about 4 or 5 tables full.

    Great place. Wonderful, flavorful food, lovely music, great tequila! Overall 9/10 only because service was kind of slow. Got an appetizer, 7 tacos (all well portioned and sized), dessert, & 4 shots of tequila all for 100CAD. Awesome price point and good value for money. Would come again and bring friends.     Food was fantastic. Our server was amazing. I asked for the tres leche (amazing!) And if they had a candle for my MIL. He brought one out already lit on the cake and we all sang happy Birthday to her (the table beside us as well joined in) we had such a great time

    My friend and I went to this restaurant before a concert. The staff were very friendly and our server was accommodating; however, the service was so slow. We did end up missing the opening act, which was unfortunate. The saving grace was that the food was delicious. I’m hoping it was just an off night for service.

    Great night out. Excellent selection of tequila. The bar manager is awesome! Very knowledgeable woman with a great attitude. Food was awesome and pretty well priced. I recommend this place for everyday dining, date night or friends get-together.

    the food was good; reading the menu I realized that pretty much everything would be spicy for me (although the others in my party love spice). I told the server and asked if the spicy sauces could be left off and she said yes - I couldn't eat the two tacos I ordered (cod and carne) - pretty sure the sauces were on them. I ended up having just chips and guac and the mexican street corn for dinner; it was delicious but I would have liked to be able to enjoy the tacos.

    We went back after 3 years and we're disappointed. The device was extremely slow and not a lot of acknowledgement from the servers about it. They were friendly and the food was decent, but not was it used to be. The food was not super fresh or well presented. A "medium" experience across the board. There was a live DJ though, which brought a nice energy to the place. One highlight!
