   Pedimos una ensalada Caesar para compartir: de las peores que hemos probado. Un pez espada estaba un poco seco, su sabor estaba más o menos bien. Una chuleta empanada estuvo excelente. El postre, un pound cake de guayaba, estaba regular. Nos dieron un postrecito de parcha con merengue que estaba buenísimo. En general no llenó nuestras expectativas. Hemos comido aquí otras veces y la comida ha estado mucho mejor.

   Dinner was good but not outstanding. I’ve been here before and it was fantastic so I will return to give them another try. I didn’t get a topping on my ribeye so maybe that’s why it tasted bland. Last time I got the truffle butter topping and it makes a huge difference. Sides are rather small for the price.

    Best dishes were Pasta y Queso, Cheese & Guava dessert and Pegaito a Caballo. Beef Filet with Crushed Potatoes were good but needed more seasoning for better flavor (ask for some salt). Service was very good with constant attention.

    The food was excellent and it was my favorite or all of Mario Pagán’s restaurants. The filet was amazing, the tostones were great, the chimichurri was a Puerto Rican version but very good, the empanadas and side potatoes were tasty. Food was excellent. Restaurant was beautiful and a great buildout with a cool local artists huge painting. The area of improvement would be: The music in the restaurant was like a live concert (too loud) and the area outside was like a bad Disney World with a lot of loitering. This Puerto Rican steakhouse is very much worth a visit just ignore the Convention Center setting.

    We loved the live music, albeit a bit too loud for us to easily hold a conversation. and the food and service were excellent. Prices are close to or at the level of restaurants in major US cities. Overall, a great experience and we would return.

    We had a wonderful experience at La Central. Although we have had the pleasure of visiting other Mario Pagan’s venues, it was our first time in this restaurant. First, it is a nice setting celebrating Puerto Rico’s history with a festive and elegant ambiance. The live music was a plus. The cocktails were excellent. If you are feeling adventurous the Ron y Tabaco is a fabulous take on the classic Old Fashioned. El Cortadito was also an interesting merge between traditional local favorites of rum, coffee and chocolate. Yummy. The Bar seems to be very well stacked with exotic spirits. Our host Taysha was excellent! Despite being quite busy, she took her time to explain the lay of the land and made some wonderful recommendations. My wife had the branzino which was a good portion and perfectly cook and I had the Half Chicken al Carbon, more out of the intrigue that Taysha had built when explaining the dish. It was delicious and very moist. Also upon her recommendation, the Pagaito a Caballo was a perfect side to round up the chicken. For dessert, we had the Chocolate Rum Cake. It was beautifully presented but a bit underwhelming. To be fair, we are aspiring chocolate connoisseurs and our chocolate knowledge is above average. So when it comes to chocolate we are very demanding. We did like the little surprise we had in the way the cake was presented. I will simply say that you need to do a little work to complete the dessert and that was kinda of cool. But I don’t want to spoil the surprise. Overall a memorable experience and will definitely return.

    I think the effort was truly there, however lots of chaos and disconnect: from overcooked octopus, to wrong sides and wine delivered, steak was poor cut for price and chewy, to chaotic atmosphere. There is a disconnect between kitchen and servers. In addition, the dress code is not enforced- guys in shorts and flip flops were seen next to a table of highly dressed women. I think this restaurant is an afterthought to the main location, and is with disordered energy. Some positives included the tasty cocktails, and yummy rum chocolate cake dessert. In short, I would go to the main location over being next to a TMobile arena paying for premium price.

    The food and service are good, but everything is expensive and the main entrees don't include any sides, which adds an additional $15 to an already expensive dish (which only includes the meat or fish). They even charge additional for the sauce that may go over the meat! The bottle of water for the table was $12! My husband and I shared the rack of lamb which was enough meat for two, so I think this might be the best deal for the buck. The cauliflower side and the pudding desert were delicious! I enjoyed the live music and the general ambiance, so I recommend it to those of you who are well-off and don't mind overspending.
