Excellently prepared food. It was a traditional steakhouse feel, but the food was prepared better than any steakhouse I have been to. Very worthy of their Michelin star.

Our reservation was for the Afternoon Tea Time to celebrate my sister's birthday. Michaela provided our group of 6 outstanding service. She perfectly times the 3 courses. Peter, the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager also stopped by to make sure everything was to our liking. The experience overall was beautiful, as well as the hotel setting. As far as pricing, the amount charged for the experience does not match the quality of the desserts and the portions served. Desserts were a little stale. However, if you ask me if I'd recommend this place, I would still say yes, as the experience was lovely and we did have an amazing time.

Another great experience at La Gourmandise! We had high tea yesterday for my cousin’s birthday and she was so impressed with the selection of teas, savory offerings and desserts! The detail put into the recipes and combinations of flavors is always so special to experience and we can’t rave enough about our server Michaela! Her exceptional hospitality is enough reason to go! She is such a delight and really makes the moment so special. If you make a reservation, ask for her! You will not regret it.

I was so impressed with my previous experience I surprised my husband for our anniversary with a tea experience. Melissa was very accommodating by sitting us at a table with an ocean view. They have a vast selection of tea options, but my favorite is the St Regis blend. The scones & sandwiches are very fresh, tasteful & filling. I loved that the menu changes. The pastries are presented in a cage. Very unique. I love that you are not rushed. At the end we were full & took the pastries home. Yes, the price is a little steep, but very worth it. The hotel is fancy but not intimidating. Hope to go back

When I arrived (early for my reservation) I was told multiple times I did not have a reservation and it wasn’t showing in the system. There were no other guests at the restaurant at the time - but besides that I made the reservation days in advance, talked to multiple people on the phone before the reservation confirming it , but still was told no. I even showed the email confirmation! We finally were seated. We were having afternoon tea for my aunts birthday. They were very nice by bringing her a glass of champagne to celebrate but did not offer me one- which I thought was very weird. Later on - two women came for tea and were celebrating an event as well and were given two classes of champagne. Not ok.

I went with two friends for the tea service on 6/11. What a wonderful experience!! The food, while not the traditional tea sandwiches, were exceptional, as were the desserts. I highly recommend Michaela as your server. She made the afternoon that much better and she is just a genuinely nice person.

From the beginning to the end, Michaela was engaging, attentive, personable, and committed to ensuring we had a great time. I booked the afternoon tea experience to celebrate my sister’s birthday. Mihaela did such a wonderful job keeping everything a surprise and provided ample opportunities to take photos of us, she was very professional, gave us very patient explanations of everything we were eating and drinking, she also gave us recommendations on what to eat first and last to make sure some of the flavors weren’t overpowered by other kinds of foods we were eating throughout the experience. Definitely enjoyed the visit and Mihaela did a wonderful job!

We received the BEST service from Michaela. It was our friends bachelorette party and Michaela went above and beyond for us with a warm welcome, sparklers, thoughtful décor (different cups for each person), and was nothing but the most amazing server! She was incredibly knowledgeable about all the teas, knew every ingredient on the menu and even took the best photos that will last a lifetime. She's outstanding!

For my daughter’s 24th birthday she wanted to celebrate with a High Tea event for the family. After reading some reviews I settled on La Gourmandise and couldn’t be more pleased with the choice. The staff communicated in advance multiple times, were flexible when we needed to add a person, and when the weather looked like it might not cooperate with he original outdoor seating selection, they moved us inside without a problem. The experience fully exceeded expectations and my daughter couldn’t’ have been more pleased. The hotel and lobby area are gorgeous and provided a perfect setting for the event. The food and tea selection and quality were exquisite and, most of all, the attention from the staff was excellent. Michaela hosted us and was simply amazing. She made everything feel so personalized, all the courses and food selections perfectly explained and we felt supremely pampered the whole time. She truly went above and beyond. For anyone looking for a High Tea event to remember I highly recommend La Gourmandise!

I have had afternoon tea all over the world and this tea went to the top. The scones were as light as air and served with homemade clotted cream and delicious homemade raspberry preserves…. The tea sandwiches had the most elaborate detailing I’ve ever seen with tiny edible flowers… even edible gold flakes on one. Not only were they beautiful, they tasted incredible and offered a nice variety. The last course was over the top ….pastries served on a three tiered bird cage decorated with exotic flowers. I cannot wait to come back next year for the fleurs de ville tea and bring my daughters in law! Don’t miss this!!! Forgot to say, the service was 6 star too!

We made reservations for the afternoon "birdcage" tea at La Gourmandise to celebrate a birthday, and it was perfect from start to finish. The setting, the views, the presentation, and the food were all delightful. The service was exceptional. Mihaela provided top notch attention, with everything from explaining details about our teas, sandwiches, and desserts, to taking memorable pictures of us, to helping me find the back of my earring which I had dropped! I suggest the 3:30 p.m. sitting so then you can catch the sabrage ceremony afterward at 6pm in the bar, where the service was also exceptional. Hats off to the St. Regis Bal Harbor for its attention and care to visitors. I highly recommend this venue to others. We will certainly be back.

This tea was disappointing. The food display and setup was nice. The “restaurant” setting is basically in the hotel lobby. People just arriving were walking in and out, stopping to look at our food, all while rolling suitcases around. It’s uncomfortable to eat while being watched and people in sweatpants and workout clothes traipsing in and out. The room, which would be nice on a sunny day, was SO cold due to the weather outside. It was uncomfortable and our tea was cold half way through the meal. Having a room with actual temperature control would be helpful, and may a warming plate for the tea. The food was fine, and the servers were pleasant, but the service was slow- they were too busy also making coffees etc, for the people arriving at the hotel. They also deemed a 20% tip appropriate, without us being given an option. For the price, it was not worth it. An okay one time experience.

Having been to afternoon teas at a number of high end hotels including other St Regis locations, I was disappointed by my experience last week. The tea service hosts were very attentive and the tea menu was good, but the location inside the hotel where they serve tea is just terrible. We were seated in an area of the lobby across from a bakery takeout counter and near the door where hotel guests come in and out from the pool area. It’s just not in keeping with appropriate ambiance when most people having tea are celebrating a special occasion. I hope they reconsider offering tea in their lounge (which isn’t open for bar service earlier in the day) or another location within the hotel.

By far the experience was made memorable due to our amazing servers, Michaela and Dikta who went above and beyond to make the tea special for my Mother and me. The presentation (bird cage) was brilliant. The only thing missing was music/piano player which would have made the day perfect.

This was my favorite experience of our trip! The food and presentation were all amazing! They surprised me with a birthday treat, and everything was exquisite in both taste and appearance. This was an amazing experience. La Gourmandise is one of my new favorite places! Our server Mikayla was exceptional and is honestly one of the reasons we will be back. The food was top notch, the decor is stunning and the over all ambiance of the hotel and the staff was 10 out of 10. We will definitely become regulars here for afternoon tea. I highly recommend taking a visit!
