Come dine in this beautifully restored Uptown restaurant on Magazine Street and enjoy James Beard Award Winning Chef Justin Devillier's contemporary Louisiana Cuisine.

The La Petite Grocery name pays homage to the history of its home, a building that’s stood for more than a century. The original structure was built in the late 1800s and called the Central Tea, Coffee and Butter Depot. In 1908, a fire devastated the space and it was transformed into a full service grocery store. Later it was most notably a fine foods and butcher shop, VonderHaar’s Fine Foods until 1982. When La Petite Grocery opened in March of 2004, they similarly aspired to provide the neighborhood with exotic teas, locally roasted coffee, and fresh produce. By doing this, we hope to provide a dining experience that evokes nostalgia of old New Orleans. Reservations are preferred.

Excellent summer evening dining. Beautiful sunset, along Magazine St. Food is excellent as usual, and quite inventive. Excellent creole tomato salad for my appetizer with red snapper for my main course. Wine list is thorough, and not over the top. Will be back.

Overall th expeirnce was good. The pork belly appetizer was large enough to share for 2 people. The service was slow at times, took a long time to get drinks, and the side orders were delivered prior to the entrees. The yellow fin tuna was very good, and the red fish while tasty was a bit dry.

Wonderful experience dining at La Petite Grocery. The hostess was lovely and welcoming. Service was excellent and the food absolutely delicious. They even made a special vegetarian entree so I wouldn’t have to eat just sides (although I bet that would have been good too!) my partner got the pork and said it was one of the best cooked pork dishes he has ever had. Oh and the dessert totally worth saving room for.

You must get the crab beignets. The service was great, very personable staff and happy to be there. Food was paced well and plated delicately for balanced bites. We went for a late lunch on a Saturday and it was busy but not crowded.

Our food was fantastic, as was the service. Three of us tried many different items from the menu, and we loved everything. We were so full we couldn’t eat dessert, so we ordered three butterscotch puddings to go!

This was our second visit and it was just as good as our first from about a year and a half ago. The biggest problem was deciding what to have. The menu is wide-ranging and varied but also includes some basic preparations. This will be a regular stop whenever we visit New Orleans.

Amazing food and wait staff. Best shrimp and grits I’ve ever tasted. My friends and I stayed in NOLA for 4 days and at the end of the weekend all agreed La Petite was the best meal by far. Would definitely come back!

Haven’t been back in about 10 years, and the quality was just as incredible as the last time. This feels like a must visit for the city!
