La Pizza & La Pasta - Eataly Chicago
La Pizza & La Pasta at Eataly features two of the best-loved Italian dishes: Napoli-style pizza and al dente pasta. Enjoy our seasonal selection just steps away from our expert pasta chefs and dough-slinging pizzaioli (pizza makers).
We always enjoy dining at Eataly when we are in town!
It was great, the food was fresh and delicious.
Decent but nothing special.
Okay, there's next to no service, but it's the best pasta in town! I do wish they set standards for their service and managers as high as they set their standard for food. Even so, it is so worth it!
Muy buena calidad de comida y precios. El lugar un poco ruidoso
good food although none of it came out together. one person was still waiting for their food when another was finished eating. service in general was awful.
Great and authentic
The pizza was some of the best I've ever had. The waiter was fun and helpful. I would have enjoyed a table not in the center, to provide a little more privacy, especially with reservations, but it was more comfortable than I figured it would be.
The wine was outstanding as well. I was surprised that the restaurants were all open to each other, I had figured they would be all sectioned off, but it ended up being a good experience.
Very satisfied with both the service and the food. Would go back in anytime.
I have to say that the concept is pretty cool...we having nothing like this where I come from. But the food itself was recalling lacking, especially coming from a place that drowns itself in everything Italian. I found the food to be extremely bland and very underwhelming. When the waitress told me that the ravioli Was cooked slightly al dents...I wasn’t expecting to crunch all the way through. I found the sauce very runny as wasn’t adhering to the pasta like a rich creamy sauce should. Overall...pretty disappointed but it was in the company fine so I don’t feel so bad. Not a place I would eat at again...however, lots of neat groceries and culinary supplies in there to buy.
I really appreciate a staff member being accommodating with my baby.
The server we had was not very pleasant. He never even talked about what what wine would pair nicely with our food. He coughed and sneezed into his hand twice. He looked like he was under the weather. Then when he started to talk about the specials he never looked at us. He turned his body to the left And looked like he was talking to them. It was very odd. He did not stop by while we where eating and we all needed more water. When we were able to catch his eye we asked for more water and he laughed at us. When we were done eating we waited 15 minutes for him to cane back. Finally we stopped someone Asked for our waiter and some boxes for leftovers. We saw the young man tell the waiter we needed him. He took another 15 to bring us the bill. His behavior on Mother’s Day. My kids were even disappointed. This meal took so long that we did not have time to shop so we just headed back home to Kenosha. It was such a shame because I had been really excited to go. My family was not happy either because we really expected better service. The food was really good but I don’t think I will come back due to the waiter we had. And he never said Happy Mother’s Day to me ??
Traditional Italian food served al dente so as long as you're good with that, you'll love it. I love Eataly and trying the different places within it. This was my 1st time at La Pizza & La Pasta and I loved it! Eating my leftovers for lunch today in fact!
Great food and great service. Ciro was the best. We had a big group and no one went without a thing. Perfect evening and experience
Underwhelmed is the word I’d use to describe the entire experience.
I always make a stop at Eataly! Never disappointed. Our pasta dish and pizza were amazing, love the simple clean tastes.
Repeat customers and yet again it did not disappoint. Our pasta was perfectly al dente and our pizza was worth the splurge.
I made reservations, very busy on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated promptly. Our server was very attentive. We ordered the rice balls, which were creamy and delicious! I had the squid ink pasta. The best I’ve had! Everything was made fresh in EATALY. All our food was fresh and tasty. Would highly recommend this restaurant!
Fun experience. Booked through Open Table which works awesome! Highly recommend!
The noise level was more from people talking vs loud music which was easier to talk over. My daughter said it was just like the pizza she had in Rome.👍 They also had gluten free friendly crust for my friend. We had 3 pizzas,2 glasses of wine and a beer for $90 before tip. We all took the leftovers home. Also discounted parking at the garage across the street and to the west when you spend +$25 for 1-3 hrs. Parking free -1hr w/ Eataly validation.
It all depends were you are seated ... I thought we could try the restaurant instead of the marketplace as it would be quieter, how wrong I was! We were seated next to the FAMILY FROM HELL! Children playing is not my idea of a nice evening out for dinner. The food was great but the ambiance completely ruined the evening for me. And the restaurant was full, so we couldn't ask to move. And sadly when we walked through the marketplace to leave, it was very quiet there. Oh well. Great pizza, though!
Food was great, service not so much. Our waiter wasn’t too attentive even though it wasn’t busy. Got three thing wrong on our order.
Food was good as usual. But we had 2 issues. First we left the stroller by the serving station as settling in and got into conversation and forgot to move it. A manager looking girl came over to our desk and practically scolded at us “you can’t leave that there.” Before I could apologize and explain, she went on, “who seated you here? Did you just sit down without a host?” I was getting really annoyed by that time. She could have asked nicely and I would’ve apologized . Also there was an empty table right by us with ample room next to it for the scroller, she could’ve offered to move us to that table and everything would be solved. But she was so busy pointing fingers at us, it was us that suggested this solution.
I made a reservation in advance, as we had 12 people and were celebrating a birthday. I checked in 10 minutes early and hostess said she marked me there but, come back at 12:30. Did that and she said she was going to check table. Second hostess came back and said they were putting tables together. Original hostess came back and said that she couldn't seat us together and had to be 2 separate tables or we could wait for another party to leave what was supposed to be our table (grrr - there were many open tables by the way, restaurant was not full). Took the 2 tables which were about 5 steps away from each other so, one table could not talk to the other (especially with noise level). Waiter came over and said, we had to have 2 checks, one for each table. We said OK but, he acted like we were not happy with it and none of us said anything about it so, that was weird. We had 2 people who were late and he wouldn't take our drink order or food order till they were there...again, strange and we were hungry! We got bread and water but, never received another glass of water again despite our glasses being empty and being right next to the water station. 1 person in our group had pasta put in front of her, only to have waiter say that it wasn't hers but, another person in our party's. Pasta moved to person 2, who didn't think it was hers but, said OK and ate it. Person 1 waited 25 more minutes (rest of us were done eating) and waiter came over and said that her pasta was in fact the original pasta given to person 2 and he had a different pasta dish ready and it was really good. She said she wanted what she ordered. Finally came out about 10 minutes later. Got the bill and we were then charged TWICE for the pasta! Overall a terrible experience with service and seating.
Our server was excellent. And the food was prompt and amazing.
We had a reservation for 8 people and were given a great little nook in the back, and it felt like a private dining experience. The waiter was so kind, knowledgeable, and descriptive throughout the entire meal. We felt well taken care of without feeling like anyone was being overbearing. The food was delicious- unfortunately they ran out of one of the specials so that would be my only negative feedback (some people at the table got it and so we got to try it and it was delicious!), but everything made for a great experience
Great place to eat and Eataly is a fun place to visit. Was a little noisy but otherwise a highly recommended place to dine.
We had so much fun here! Great energy-charged atmosphere. Food was delicious!!
It was nice
Wonderful food and service.
I came to celebrate my birthday and it was our first time dining at La Pizza & La Pasta and I have to say I was kinda disappointed. There was only one option on the kids menu and that is just sad. My kids were looking forward to pasta and there wasnt any alfredo or spaghetti...our waiter didnt listen to our requests for our food so what we asked to be taken off was still on so they had to be remade. Our waiter forgot our bread we requested. The food was delicious but our waiter was not good.
We had a great time. The place is fun, we had the truffle pizza with fresh truffles. Delicious... And the burrata, yummy. The family next to us Gave us the rest of there wine bottle which happens to be the same one we ordered by the glass. The service was excellent. We will
Be back very soon.
The restaurant came highly recommended but I found it lackluster. Our party had an appetizer, three pasta dishes and one 12" pizza along with and while they did warn us the items would come out at different times it was as if we were served two different meals. The pistachio pesto we had with the appetizer was tasty but the pizza looked like it was home made with a Boboli crust. The pastas were fresh but fell short of any real flavor and the service was medicore. The restaurant, which is really a food court was off putting. I expected more for the $200+ I spent. The best part of this experience was the Eataly market which we shopped afterwards.
The whole atmosphere and the food are great.
There are some momentum we waited too much for someone to attend us but in general was a very good experience.
We enjoyed our meal at La Pizza delicious. The RAVIOLI di Piselli was amazing! The peas were so sweet tucked in the ravioli! The Prosecco and the Pinot were great pairings with our meal!
We would definitely go back High Energy A Lot of Fun and great Food
First time at Eataly and enjoyed it all. Nice place to go with girlfriends. Food was good. We split every thing to be able to taste more.
Excellent authentic Italian dishes. Highly recommend if you can’t travel to Italy.
Excellent ravioli and pizza
Eataly is great. The food and service were fine and as expected, but the restaurant was dirty. The floors, window sills, etc. just dirty. Maybe some more attention to cleaning. Will still go back, just a little disappointed after this visit.
