Our server was kind of grumpy when I asked her to tell me which vegetarian options we had. Since already pointed them out once to my husband, when I asked again, because I couldn’t see what she was pointed out to plus the heavy Italian accent, she sounded a little frustrated.
Next, we specifically mentioned we were vegetarian. But there was a piece of salami in our pizza. The manager apologized and replaces it. But the damage was already down since we had already eaten half the pizza before we saw that piece. His explanation was it was stuck on the pizza cutter. But should t you be using different pizza cutters for vegetarian and meat dishes since this is a big deal in some cultures? The thought of having eaten salami by mistake in my pizza is very discomforting to me. Food choices are personal choices and restaurants must be respectful enough to take all precautions to accommodate them, especially when you are offering these options.
Waited half an hour for the server. Appetizers did not come at the same time, forgot one persons appetizer. Main course came right after app and felt kind of rushed when eating
Our waiter was super nice, the food was delicious and the overall experience was great. The place was a bit noisy/busy but we were ok with it, just letting other people know with this review (if you prefer quiet places). We will be back!
Dinner was delicious. It comes out as it is prepared so quick and hot. Great location when leaving work, out shopping, with friends or looking for a family friendly place to eat. Highly recommend.
Love this place...been there a few times and every time it's been amazing. Food, service, people, etc.
I have been to the one in NYC (FLATIRON) about 5-6 times and that is my favorite. It's huge inside and packed. Really happy we have one in Toronto and I hear rumors of a second location.
Was double charged for my meal. Called the restaurant to resolve. Left a message. Sent an email. 4+ days later still awaiting it to be addressed by restaurant. This doesn’t make me feel good. Being charged $110 for a bowl gnocchi, and order of rice balls and one glass of Prosecco. Still waiting…
Nice place and food. Pricey due to location, I think.
I decided to try the fresh seasonal MEZZALUNE DI RUCOLA E LIMONE last night and OMG IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!
The lemon, ricotta, and arugula filling was light and fresh, the pasta itself was well made, and every element tied together so well 👌🏼Loved the addition of pistachios on top 😍
Of course all of their dishes are amazing, but I have to say this is one of my favourites !
🍽 MEZZALUNE di Rucola e Limone
Housemade Ricotta, Lemon, and Arugula Stuffed Half Moon Pasta, Lemon Butter, Pistachio, Parmigiano Reggiano® DOP
🍽 TAGLIATELLE alla Bolognese
Thin, Ribbon-shaped Housemade Pasta, Beef and Pork Ragù, Mutti Tomato, Parmigiano Reggiano® DOP
I asked for a Gnocci porccini and it arrived raw. They gave me another one that was better cooked but tasting nothing. I could only taste the flour. Tottaly disappointed.
Main issue was that the pizza kitchen and pasta kitchen are two different kitchens, so the pizza for my grandkids came out 15 min after my pasta arrived. The servers should be timing that better. The pasta was delicious, Fritto Misto was greasy(not their best dish), my grandkids gave the pizza two thumbs up.
Servers we had were both very nice and friendly, but they could have been a bit more attentive.
The food was very good but I feel the wines are over-priced. A half litre of basic wine should not be $36. You could buy 3 full bottles of it for the same price in the LCBO.
I was overexcited about going to this restaurant as my husband and I shop there every week. The pizza at the counter is awesome so my expectations were high. The service was excellent by the way. The pizza was awful with no taste at all. The crust was soggy and too thin not at all like the counter pizza. The antipasto plate was not will proportioned. The meat to cheese ratio was not correct and the fig jam was too much for such little cheese. The cotolleta was burned with parmesan cheese just thrown onto and on the side salad. The tonno salad was terrible. The lettuce was bruised, I counted 2 olives and barley tasted the tuna as there was so little. I used for dressing t be just olive oil on the side and it never arrived. The wine, however, was excellent. The coffee had no selection just espresso. I won't be going back. For someone who visits Italy 4 times a year and is Italian herself, this restaurant was not for Italian but rather a "fast food Italian restaurant" with no cultural taste.
Authentic Italian experience. Just wonderful.
Great food and excellent service!!
Our server named Lea was amazing! The food was tasty, hot, and did not take long to prepare! My partner and I will definitely be going back.
Food was good. Generous and fresh. Somewhat pricey. Experience was worth it but not something I would do regularly. Covid restrictions were adhered to which was positive.
Great menu, attentive service and wonderful flavours. Make this a must-visit if you are vacationing in Toronto.
it was great food, good portion and delicious. Will go back soon
A friend took me there on September 30th for my birthday lunch. I had been to Eataly on September 15th and ate at IL Patio. I wanted to go back and try out La Pizza & La Pasta. Everything was amazing. The service and food was exceptional. Our server was very attentive and the food was brought to our table promptly. The temperature of the food was perfect. I will be returning on October 19th with my hubby.
Amazing food every time except my Tonno salad this last time really only had one tiny bite of tuna in it. It was unusual and not the norm. Our food came out long before our drinks and we had to ask twice for water. When we sat down we waited ten min before a server even came to our table. Would go back again and again the food is so excellent.
As usual a flawless evening at Eataly Toronto. The staff was friendly, gracious and unobtrusive. We showed our vaccine verification upon check in and the whole experience was quick and effortless, bravo Eataly and staff.
Terrible service. Management doesn’t care. Inattentive staff. Overpriced. Pizza was good. Pasta poor. Small portion for the high price. Meals not served together. Server neglected to advise us. Sad. Sad. Sad.
Everything was great. Only two things, the spot we were seated for 4 people was extremely tight and not very comfortable and server took a while to come take our order. Food was amazing however! Felt like we were back in Naples, Italy.
This is by far my favourite restaurant in Toronto to have the real authentic Italian experience. Food, wine, and ambience! Love this place.
Server was great. Food was amazing had linguine seafood and not over cooked! Would recommend!
Carciofini friti wee like angel wings. Pasta was wonderful
Great authentic Italian food and drink,
Service always outstanding! Next to being in Italy the best prosciutto, mozzarella and friti appetizer ever!
Food was good although my waitress forgot to place one of the dish in. Steak tartare was delicious! Other than that, service was decent!
Not sure what is the hype. We were celebrating our 1st anniversary and decided to go to Eataly. We ordered the Parmagiano Pizza and Pomodoro Gnocchi. The food came quickly but was lukewarm and very passable. Should've gone someplace in Little Italy.
Excellent pasta. However, it was casually plopped on the table while we were midway into the appetizer.
Wait staff, however, willingly returned it to the kitchen, and reheated when we had finished the first course.
Had a lovely table overlooking Bloor and the server was authentic Italian…set a great mood!
Server brought complimentary bread and olive oil, we asked if they can bring olive oil and he said no. We ordered mushroom pasta and they brought it out cold and undercooked. When we asked the server why it was undercooked and cold, he said that was the best pasta they have on the menu and we should order something else. Worst experience. We also felt like we were sitting in a grocery store.
Poorly prepared food. Not worth it
Reception took for ages despite having booked. Biggest complaint is that we couldn't have a coffee at the table!! Not good. Also we selected a starter but one guest's main course was delivered ahead of the arrival of the starter.
It was my first time at Eataly, and unfortunately, I have to say that it is overrated. The menu is limited (e.g. no deserts at all), the food is not tasty, and overall, it is pricey. The only positive was the service.
Disappointing. You can't fault the quality of the ingredients, but every dish has something missing.
The burrata was a lump of cheese with a drizzle of olive oil on it, no effort at presentation. Add a slice of tomato and a drizzle of balsamic or something. Steak tartare was a heavy, oily mess that at first I thought was a spoonful of ragu on a plate. It tasted only of tomato, no finesse. The arancini need a sauce, not just smothered in grated cheese. Tasted slightly burnt, as if the frying oil was old.
Tagliatelli with mushrooms was good, generous, earthy mushrooms. Sauce on the gnocchi was heavy, partly split. Gnocchi themselves were a bit doughy. Disappointing to have to go to other sections to get coffee and dessert.
Service was attentive and timely.
Front of house was slow to seat us, especially given we had a reservation. Brought the wrong kind of pizza by mistake—it happens.
Weirdest experience was that we couldn't order a coffee after the meal. Apparently the restaurant doesn't serve coffee. You have to leave the restaurant and order from one of the cafes in the store. That was annoying, but also odd given that the menu is mostly carbs.
We weren’t checked often so we ended up caliing for different staff. And we have a reservation but the lady infront entertained the guests without reservation??What is the point of having a reservation then? We were a bit disappointed, I thought my guests will be as delighted as I was telling them about Eataly.
