We were a party of 4. We ordered 5 apps to share between us and each dish was absolutely mouth watering. We also shared two pasta dishes and two pizzas. The pizza could have been a little more well done for our liking.as the centre was very thin and wet. The wine was a hit. Everything came to our table at a very good pace. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, polite and friendly. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening. We will absolutely recommend to family and friends and we will surely make a return trip.

Just find that it’s a lot of bread, pasta, carbs - dish with mussels was tinny for the $29 price point - just not worth the trip downtown

If this was a cheap italian restaurant i would give it a better score, but when you spend $160 for 3 people for lunch for 2 appetizers and 3 pastas, 1 coke and 2 wines I expect at least better service, better food and better ambiance.
My wine was poured from an almost finished open bottle and the beginning of another bottle at the table like in a trattoria but it was $14-16 per 6oz glass. The $28 carbonara pasta was swimming in egg sauce and the fried artichokes appetizers was drenched in oil like in a cheap "friggitoria". I'm very familiar and appreciative of Eataly concept, and Mr. Farinetti ideas and I went to several Eataly both in NYC and in Italy and I find the Toronto's one pretentious without reasons. Eataly is mainly based on the idea of great quality food sold in their supermarket and cooked to perfections in their restaurants. Though that alone would justify the premium price Eataly is not very expensive in Italy and it's a place where family could have a great meal for a very decent price. In NYC they decided to go more upscale, but the food and ambiance are amazing... here in Toronto is neither cheap nor of incredible quality... first time I ate there and I was disappointed... I'm italian and I know how italian food should taste and look like.... In my circle of Italian friends we all feel the same... Eataly Toronto, it's time to step up your game or lower your price!

Was quite disappointed with my second time here. We were seated in a high traffic through-way where garbage and dirty plates were constantly wheeled through. Pasta was very mediocre. Mushroom tagliatelle, which was supposed to have a variety of mushrooms, only seemed to have cremini and was overall very meh. Guanchale rigatoni, although we know should be al-dente, was very undercooked and very hard in center. Wine and burrata were only redeeming factors and even the burrata was only served with two thin slices of bread.

Service was on the poorer side. Waitress didn’t bring wine until much after the appetizer were served and we had flagged her down. No one asked how the food was, waitress only checked on us once very late into the meal and didn’t ask how the food was.

Overall I’ve had much better experiences and this was a lowlight, especially for the price.

La Pizza & La Pasta serves decent (but not amazing) food. What's nice about the restaurant is that it's a part of Eataly, an amazing Italian foodie experience as a whole.
The wine was not good at all (Valpolicella). It was sour and not smooth on the palate. The appetizers were good (burrata and beet salad) and the pasta dishes were nice (tagliatelle verde and ravioli di zucca). If Toronto was low on Italian restaurants, this restaurant would be amazing. But La Pizza & La Pasta is no better than the multitude of Italian restaurants in Toronto (some of which serve much better food). The service was very friendly, though.

The food was very good. Service was good, however the severs made it very obvious they were trying to push us out quickly by attempting to clear plates that still had food on them… we spent over $300 on lunch.. please let us enjoy. Our experience at the restaurant was good overall… however when we were walking through the store/market on the way out, a woman who worked there loudly said from behind us “come on ladies hurry the fck up”. We were shocked. After this experience we will not be returning to this establishment.

We had a girls (3) lunch after my daughter tried on wedding dresses at Kleinfeld’s. Service was excellent but entry way is cumbersome to get in and out and vaccine checking takes too long. Food was delicious, wine selection excellent. Our server was great (young guy) and went out of his way to get us extra sauce, chili flakes, etc. Surprised we had to ask for bread & oil to dip (not offered) and no balsamic vinegar with it. Prices a little expensive (bowl of Tagliatelli Bolognese was over $20) but it was delicious. Crowded for a Saturday at 12:30 pm but entire store was jammed with Christmas shoppers. I’d definitely go back after the holidays.

Lunch might not be the best choice - I can see it being a nice place for a long leisurely meal. But if you need to be in and out quickly, get takeout.

A nice place to have lunch. We were by the window, which was nice. Going to the bathroom was a bit odd, since you had to leave the restaurant and walk through the busy marketplace. The ravioli with prociutto was delicious so was the mushroom and truffle gnocchi. The salumi and fromage appetizer platter was also deicious. Very good servers.

Please educate your staff!
This is the second time we have arrived at Eataly and been questioned by your uneducated staff regarding vaccine passports.
The Johnson and Johnson vaccine requires only ONE shot. However, your staff has not been educated or chooses to question our entry. "I need to see your second shot" was the demand.
The result is that we have to explain, inform and educate the hostess, the barista behind the coffee bar or even the cashier at the pizza area.
Awkward, time consuming and embarrassing as you hold up the line and people around you take notice.

The food is good, especially the pizza, but prices are a bit too high. $35 for fried calamari when half of the plate is fried vegetables is insane in my opinion. As I said the pizza is good, light, the dough is excellent… but you can’t ask $2 to add 2 spoons of tomato sauce on a white pizza.

The noise level is a bit high but enjoyable.

The service is fine, rushed in a way. Sometimes too rushed.

Good is always very good.
My only “but” is to the fact that they are accommodating 2 people in small tables, very close to each other.

Even the service team has troubles to fit themselves in between these tables.
Also because of COVID19, it would be great to keep tables with in some bigger distance

The food is excellent, but the place is like a circus. No one is in charge. No one owns your table. No one cares about your experience. Better off going to an independent Italian restaurant where the owner cares.

Service, food quality, ambiance, everything was excellent overall.
My husband and I went yesterday evening, it was busy but not crazy crowded.
Our server Jake was amazing, he has an authentic sense of humor which is nice for a change. But not only him, everyone was very attentive. Plus, we don't like to be rushed and it was nice to hear that we can take our time.
Food was delicious. My husband is Argentinian (they do know about pizza&pasta as well) so yes, take this into consideration: pizza was perfect, the raviolis a bit small but tasty as well. Ingredients in both dishes were delicious and of good quality.
Price.. fair I would say.
One down thing only is that we expected a Wedding Anniversary courtesy (a flower, candle, sweet bite..) otherwise, what is the purpose of asking this during the booking process then?
In any case, yes, we will be back for sure!

AMAZING food!

Server forgot to put in appetizer so pasta came before appetizer. Her response was “I didn’t think you wanted it”

We never got bread until the end which we had to flag down and ask for. As well as as additional set of utensils. Server was clearly swamped with tables and didn’t have support.

As a thank you the espresso was taken care of lol wow

Amazing food but I guess under staffed

Unfriendly hostess just stared as we approached the stand, we had to address her. She then sat us at a table where it was quite chilly. Server was great but changed half way through the meal. We were shocked by the small size of our entrees and meagre amount of meat on both. Flavour wasn’t as fabulous as usual. So disappointing for a birthday celebration dinner :(
