Great wait staff. Amazing food. Try the A9 Australian Kobe.
Main meals were not good at all, so they offered to replace it with a regular steak and fries.
I ordered 2 cheesecakes, one as a surprise with a “happy birthday note”, requested way upfront, no notes at all (even if they called me 1.5 hours before to reconfirm and ask me, if it could have been written in English instead French and I said yes)
They also mess with the coffee, my boyfriend asked for a decaf and after they came back and said, ohhh sorry no decaf today, the order didn’t come in
Homard bisque appetizer was too smoky and too spicy
Let’s say that my Surprise Birthday Lunch was way more surprising than should be, and definitely NOT in the good way
I was a bit disappointed, as the prices went up and the size of the steak went down. I always eat the Big Lou’s Ribeye and this time it wasn’t nearly as big as the ones I always had. I don’t know, if I will go there again!
Outstanding food and impeccable service.
We had dinner before the game. The service was excellent and they made sure we were served and done in time to make the game! Very nice!
They mixed up our meal and my steak was overcooked. Dispite the temp of my steak, the food was very good.
This is a busy place and very loud.
I was really excited to eat here based on the reviews and my friends recommendations, sadly the food didn’t live up to the big hype. The steak we were served which was supposed to be well marbleised was overly chewy, under seasoned and most definitely not marbleised. The other plates were good but when you’re paying 400$ for your meal, really you want the the food to be great not just pass as good.
Anniversaire deux ans ❤️
My first time here and will be my last time.
2 people cost 600$ Plus tip.
Lobster was tuff / Jumbo shrimp were tuff / lobster mash was cold / my steak was ok but chewy / staff was aggressive / they all seemed confused. The old guy who cuts up the food was very pushy wait staff kept bumping into me and not apologizing. The music was so loud couldn’t even talk with my friend. Not very good for a fancy restaurant. I felt rushed and ripped off when I left. As we were leaving one of the waiters bareled through us with a tray of food as we were trying to walk up the stairs. Not professional at all. Very sloppy. For that kind of money I expect a 5 star treatment but I feel I Barley got a 2 star treatment. So I give it 2 stars for a horiable experience.
Donato made some excellent steak recamindations
And our waiter mesbah was fantastic
Will definitely be back
We did not enjoy it at all. Waste of money.
Le Wellington était parfait!! Service hors pair!
My wagyu was a little bit ''watery'' not used to this on dry aged meat! Rest was perfect!
I got their signature steak which was just OK. It seemed a little crusty. The presentation was beautiful but the overall quality was just ok - not mind blowing like it should be especially for the price which was super expensive. Same quality as 40 Westt - sometimes good sometimes amazing. The best steak is still RibNReef IMHO.
The wait staff were great and very attentive! Food was also great!!
Pedro the bartender was very friendly and entertaining. We had a lot of fun.
The steak was cold and cooked to a med-rare instead of medium like I asked for. The server told me that the cooks sometimes have there own thoughts on how meat should be cooked. I think they should stick to what the customer asked for!
One of the best steakhouses in Montreal! Great aged beef and seafood! So many choices to choose from with anyone’s budget . You pay fir what you get. Nice wine list as well from by the glass to bottles and magnums! We tried the Waygu beef a d 2 Atlantic lobsters. Omg delicious ! The side of garlic mashed potatoes and fried onions were delicious as well! For desert we shared the chocolate cheesecake! Fabulous service thruout !
Had a good pre hockey game meal with choice of a wedge salad or lobster bisque soup (both were good). Then we had a PETITE filet mignon with a shave of truffle, sautés mushrooms a mini grave boat with au jus & a nice size bone marrow, all served on a
mini butchers block ($45).
Great food, great place in the heart of Montreal close to clubs, Belle Centre, museums, etc..... Amazing atmosphere, food, staff is super friendly. We had pre Andre Bocelli show dinner and then after the show we went to the downstairs bar for drinks. The barman Danny was a fantastic! great time at Queue de Cheval! Thanks and we will be back! Lynn ;-)
Took my husband here for a special birthday dinner. Overall we were happy however not overly impressed. Service was okay but felt a little ignored which was annoying for the price you pay you to be there. We both ordered filet mignon. Mine was cooked properly however my husband ordered his medium and came out extremely rare. For an establishment like this I would not expect that, had to send it back for more time on the grill. On my online reservation I specified it was his birthday and they brought over a dessert which was very good however the table next to us verbally told our same waiter it was one of their birthday and was brought out the same dessert with a sparkler so that was a bit disappointing.
Amazing as always. Top quality food and service
Server drop full glass on me
No rebate or else
Steak medium cold
Une ambiance conviviale avec un service impeccable et une variété de plats peu courants mais fort appétissants; une expérience unique à Montréal pour des occasions spéciales .
Great and fast service , friendly team, and food amazing.
When we arrived the host greeted us like this: what can i do for you? I mean yeah we are black clients but im in a restaurant not a store so it should have been hi do you have a reservation? Then she givrs us that the 45$ menu which is the pre theatre one. No one said at the time we booked that that menu was mandatory. So i tell my waiter that I want the regular menu he shouts it starts aT 7:30. It was 6:15. So i get up to ask the host for a regular menu which she gave me and said just order a drink and entree while time passes then at 7 you can use the menu. So we order a bottle of wine the waiter poored it in an ugly Flask while the ones on the other tables was amazing. Then our waiter didn’t do the demonstration of the sea food and meat to our table. He did it to all the other table. We where over dressed everyone was in jeans and shirt my husband was in suit and tie and i was in a dress and heals. Besides that it was a great experience my budget was 500$ and i stayed in it. Overall my husband had a blast for his birthday. Theres a waiter i dnt remember his name he was soooo nice!! He called the otherd to sing happy birthday to my husband and although he wasnt out main waiter he made sure we where doing fine, he poored us some wine and even changed our glass of water. He told us ti take off t time and enjoy the evening.
If your visiting Montreal make sure you make it to La Queue De Cheval. The place is top shelf across the board.
Our experience was unbelievable. Meals were off the charts along with service
My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We were seated in the basement in the corner. Did not enjoy the area as there was a major draft. Had to eat with our jackets on.
Atmosphere and service were excellent. Waiters were outstanding once one was allocated to us and had our attention. Attentive without being overbearing or fussy and added some nice touches with their birthday choruses and the wine decantering at the tables. Food was very good overall. The side dishes were amazing and the steak was very good - I would not say it’s the best I have had, but cooked as I asked and I enjoyed it. Would absolutely go back and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Montreal.
Came here for a night out with the fellas and it was great. Met our nice hostess right on entry (She was from Marisca I believe) and then had a fantastic Ol' Fashioned crafted by Danny. Excellent Bartender. Tanya then chatted us up at the bar and took us to our table. Our servers gave great recommendations and the food was special. If I'm in Montreal I'm coming back.
Pre hockey game meal - noisy but delicious
This was an amazing experience. From Tania who welcomed us. Danny boy and Pablo who took care of us at the bar. Or our waiter Tom and everything in between. Amazing is not enough to say how happy we are. Ps....cheesecake is a must try!
This was our first trip to Montreal and we dined at Le Queue de Cheval based on a recommendation from a friend. The food was very good but not exceptional based on the prices. We both had steaks and I had oysters. Both were good. However we have had both of the same quality for a lot less money. The wait staff was attentive and the food was well prepared.
I've dined at QDC several times over the years. This was the first time in several, since they moved from the original location to the current spot, basically a block or so away.
Appetizers were tasty, but didn't astound us. Tuna tartare seemed overwhelmed by the sauce that it was served with, poured delicately on the outside of the plate. The steak, a 32 oz. cut shared by two, was cooked nicely. Something was missing. It tasted good, but like the appetizers, it didn't astound. For the prices, I sort of expected that "wow" moment during the meal. In the past, I had left hoping I would get back to the city soon with a visit to QDC. This time, I'm considering looking for a different steakhouse. Or, perhaps, I'll drop in for a few drinks and bites at the raw bar downstairs. That area looked impressive.
A small bone from oxtail in the gnocchi that almost broke the diner’s tooth.
Had a phenomenal experience here. the waiter and staff were above and beyond. The product that were offered for our dinner were showing before they were cooked to perfection. The Wagyu selection was impressive and amazing quality. Would love and will come again!
We came for the steak and the cheesecake - we were NOT disappointed!
Delicious steak. Worth the price.
