Food is always amazing here
They have a new expanded menu. Everything we had was very good, as always!
We look forward to dining there again and trying the other new items on the expanded menu.
Food and service were both very good and reasonably priced for fine dining in Toronto.
A very good experience....
Second time we have dined there. Food and ambiance was great. The server was friendly but was slow and made silly errors (ie. Brought ‘tea’ but had forgotten to put a bag in). She tried but at the end of the day fell short. Will certainly go back and give them another opportunity as overall everything was good.
Outstanding appetizers. We had the calamari and buffalo mozarella salad. Service was very good. We sat outdoors on a warm summer night and watched the world go by.
The restaurant tries to put out very nice food; however, it’s very hard for the consistency to be there!
One of the worst experiences. We r experienced diners and food was terrible and services were simply inappropriate.
Arrived early evening. Although the patio looked good we opted for inside seating due to weather. The room we were seated in was dirty. Unvacuumed and unwashed sticky floors though out the restaurant. We went down to the basement to use the restrooms and had a look in the kitchen as we passed it and I can see why everything felt and looked greasy. Our server was very polite, attentive, friendly and prompt. The food was plentiful but was far from what the ratings suggested. It was all round less than average. Disappointing. We tried it but won’t be returning.
Nice little Italian restaurant in the beaches. We went on a busy night during Jazz fest and had to wait an hour and a half for our food. They apologized and treated us well. The food was excellent and prices were fair.
This was not a great dining experience. 10 minutes before getting a menu. Clueless service - didn’t know the difference between off-dry and sweet, and brought incorrect vintages 3 times in a row. The wine menu explicitly said, “ask for the Champagne list”, and since this was a friend’s birthday I asked. There was massive confusion and no Champagne list. The crostini was on Wonderbread. The mains were just ok. Everything seemed rushed and unrefined. Was never expecting 5 star quality but this was barely above a short order casual restaurant. At least the prices were reasonable... can write this one off and say no thanks to a repeat.
Solid Italian in a small setting. Waitstaff was attentive and meals were well prepared and well presented even though kitchen was short staffed. Generous wine pours and good value.
We and friends decided to try La Sala for the first time because of the Summerlicious promotion. Three of us ordered from the regular menu and one from the Summerlicious menu. We sat next to the kitchen and could clearly observe the chef and sous chef preparing the meals. The caesar and garden salads, seafood linguini, wild salmon, pasta and tartufo were all delicious and beautifully plated.
They serve a complimentary bruschetta with diced tomatoes on thin pieces of toast which began to disintegrate. Bruschetta should be served on thicker pieces of crustini bread to preserve their integrity.
We recommend dining early at 5 or 5:30 pm to get better service since the two highly stressed out waiters were having great difficulty attending to the patrons after 6:30 pm as diners filled the main floor, second floor and outside patio. There was a dispute between the chef and the waiter due to an error with another table’s order because of a faulty online ordering system. This restaurant should definitely hire another server during busy times!
Our party would return in future for lunch or an early dinner because of the excellent cuisine. Kudos to the chef!
Much nicer to sit downstairs... The second floor lacs ambience and service appears to be a bit challenging.
Took a friend there for her birthday. Everything was great. We have one suggestion... complimentary bruschetta should be on crostini’s or slices of Italian bread. The toast used was below the standard of the rest of the meal.
Fantastic restaurant! Definitely a hidden gem!
We waited 30 mins to get our reserved table and over 2 hours to eat.
Cute little place
LOVED La Sala. We want with friends from the UK. The staff was super friendly and accommodating to my specific food requirements. Food was delicious and the service fabulous. The menu is highly varied, but everything we tried was fabulous. I highly recommend!
For my appetizer, I ordered a "mixed beet salad" that was listed as featuring golden beets and red beets. It featured 3 thin slices of red beet, no golden beets. This sounds small, but it's simply inaccurate and leaves you with a bad feeling about how the rest of the meal is going to go. We had to go track down the server for our bill, and the short playlist of music repeated while we were still there. The appetizer of bruschetta they brought us (for free, admittedly) just seemed to be on regular toasted white bread that fell apart when you grabbed it.
The food and service were excellent and I would definitely go back to this neighbourhood gem. I had the filet mignon and it was incredible!
Great as always!!!
Amanda she’s was great !
Great food and we were not rushed through our meal. Large wine selection and only craft beer available. Would definitely go back again
My fiancé and I went to La Sala for Valentine’s Day dinner. The food was good, but the only thing is that it took 1 hour for the main course to arrive after our appetizer. The wait for our meal was too long. The service could have been much, much better especially during a special occasion.
Lovely Valentines dinner with my friend and mum.
Never encouraging to see a restaurant serve dessert from Costco... (Yes Kirkland cheesecake). Service was pleasant and food average.
I paid in cash, then Waitress waited for her tip!!! Proper etiquette would be to pick up the tip AFTER the customer leaves. The Bar was full of dirty cups, glasses and dishes. The Bar is located at the front door. Leaves a horrible impression on the place. Washroom was clean to my surprise. The place was meh... I dont think I would come back to this restaurant unless I was in the immediate neighbourhood and starving.
Our neighborhood favourite. Never had a bad meal here. Friendly and welcoming staff. Very generous portions and really, really great-tasting dishes. Spaghettis Carbonara is decadent.
Cozy atmosphere: several smallish rooms in a beautiful home just off the main street. Feels intimate and lively at the same time.
Great quiet spot for a weekend breakfast/brunch!
Excellent value and good food!
Celebrate Christmas and the coming birth of my first grandchild due in February! La Sala met all expectations and provided the perfect spot, with usual great service and exceptionally well crafted food, for the celebration!
Very comfortable and a really nice place off Queen St. East to enjoy quiet conversation and great food!
The butternut ravioli is to die for!!!! A little pricey at $24 however. The buffalo monzerella appetizer was great too but again a tiny piece for $14.
Wow! Food was AMAZING, service was fantastic
Always a wonderful meal and experience at La Sala.
