Great service! Our waiter was very friendly and very attentive. The food was a bit on the salty side, but other than that our meals were very good. I got the gnocchi with marinara sauce and the other got the carbonara. I personally think the carbonara should have a vegetable like a pea in the dish.
I went there the other night with my mom and boyfriend and we had an incredible time. From the service to the food, it was impeccable. It was by far the best gluten free meal I have ever had. I cannot wait to go back! My mom recently went to Italy and she said that it was better than any food she had over there, and she’s Italian!
The food is just superb. The service is great. The staff are nice. The bar is great and reasonably priced for this type of high end restaurant. A look around the dining room shows table after table of people having fun and enjoying great food. It's a true old school restaurant for special occasions or just a nice evening out.
We are from Boston. Our son has been in school in Baltimore since 2012. He just graduated on Tuesday. We'll miss our regular visits, but when we are in Baltimore again for whatever reason (maybe baseball!), we've already agreed to make an evening at La Scala a priority.
We brought out of town friends who totally loved it....and they spend a lot of time in Italy!!
Fantastic!!! Wonderful all the way around! Can't wait to go back.
The place was beautiful and the food was excellent. However, we were seated next to an obnoxiously loud table and when we asked to move we were seated2 tables away. The other people seated in the room were rolling their eyes and it out a damper on the whole experience. There was another relatively empty room where we should have been moved. It was impossible to talk over the obnoxious table. It dominated the whole meal.
Great food. Great service. Intimate setting yet family atmosphere.
From the moment we walked in and were greeted, service was impeccable. Our waiter, Antonio, explained everything that we were in store for. He explained the specials thoroughly and answered all of our questions. Our glasses were never empty, and anything we needed came almost immediately. The experience was fantastic. The food was amazing. I recommend the grilled Caesar salad, it was so flavorful. I had pasta with lobster and lump crab in a tomato cream sauce, delicious and my girlfriend had spaghetti with meat sauce. The bread was crusty and warm, dipped in olive oil, no butter necessary. We took the tiramisu to go. I will definitely go back because there was no way I could ordered everything I wanted in one meal!
We went to La Scala to celebrate our wedding anniversary when we were visiting Baltimore and it was wonderful. The service was attentive and the food was fantastic! We had grilled Caesar salad (special) two cheeses and two meats from the salumeria menu, Raffaello Chicken and Gnocchi (special with goat cheese). We received a nice card at our table for our anniversary and a lovely tiramisu at the end of our meal. We will be back for a future special occasion!
Every dish that arrived at the table was superb! Waiter was fantastic as well .
Large party and it was an enjoyable evening. The food was very good and the service was attentive. I would return.
First time at La Scala. Been to many little Italy restaurants over the last 30 years. I'd like to see more price differential between dishes but I get it if this is easier. Fettuccine was thicker and not the best I've had. Saltimoboca could have had more flavor. I think I'm more of a Sabitonios fan
The food was great. The service was just as good! We'll be back when we visit Baltimore again
Our celebratory dinner was everything we had hoped for. Some of us had eaten there before, which is why we chose this restaurant. We needed an early seating and sometimes you wonder if staff will be on their game and if the kitchen will be up to speed. Not to worry both were fantastic. As a group we had something from the specials and regular menu for all the courses! Thank you La Scala you were awesome.
The food was average at best - and the service impatient
We’ve eaten at several places in Little Italy, Baltimore and this is the best so far!
Our food came out cold , then I found a hair in my food , the pasta was completely undercooked and the sauce was bland. Our check was 75.00 and I didn’t even eat. No one came to apologize what so ever. On our never again list.
Great food. La Scala never disappoints.
Another excellent dinner at La Scala. It’s our go to dining place when in Baltimore, which, unfortunately, is not often enough to get to this Little Italy gem! The food is amazing and service is very professional. The pace of dinner is also relaxed, meaning that courses don’t come on top of each other. I can’t recommend it enough.
Brought my wife here for our anniversary. Good ambiance scene. Staff attentive.
Great food and service. The staff made us feel at home. Clean and comfortable setting. I would recommend to my family and friends.
La Scala was above and beyond what we expected. We arrived an hour ahead of our reservation, trying to get out of the rain. The restaurant wasn't even open yet but they seated us at a small table and we ordered a bottle of wine (which was wonderful!) When it was time for our reservation, we were moved to a table in the bar dining area. We each ordered the Al's Way steak. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare, as we ordered, and may be one of the best steaks we have ever had! They topped our meal off with a complimentary dessert and an anniversary card! (We were celebrating our wedding anniversary.) We absolutely recommend La Scala and will drive the 2 1/2 hours from home to dine here again!
Excellent food and wine list is terrific too. Home made pastas were outstanding and such a terrific variety. If you like spicy the arrabiatta is one of the best. Complementary shuttle service to local hotels was an amazing perk. If in Baltimore again, we will be back and hope to play Bocci!
I have been dining at LaScala for over a decade. It is always wonderful.
20th wedding anniversary
Best Italian food I've had. Gnocchi is phenomenal. Great service.
Very good pasta. Service was excellent. Noise level increased with start of an enthusiastic bocce game.
Incredible food, service, wine and ambiance. Highly recommend!
Great, traditional Italian dishes. Plenty of options but the gnocchi is a must try. The service is impeccable
Truly a gem! Authentic Italian. No tourist trap here!
A very enjoyable evening with excellent food and great service. Thank you Antonio.
Another fabulous evening at LaScala! Love celebrating here because they treat you so special! Forever my favorite Italian restaurant and Nino my favorite chef!
One of the best. Great food, great service, great wine! Can’t wait to go back.
The food and service were excellent ! We started off with the Caesar salad and enjoyed it very much! My husband had the veal parmigiana and loved it! I had shrimp with fettuccini all vodka which our waiter suggested based on my request. A great evening and would definitely recommend this restaurant to family and friends!
We came here for Easter dinner. Not from the area but after doing a little research settled on this place for our special dinner out while in Baltimore. If you’re considering this place, stay home. I hate to give a negative review but our dinner was just horrible.
Calamari was chewy. The waitress sent back to the kitchen where it was re-made. Still just as chewy as before. The best part of dinner for me was Caesar salad and the bread. Husband and I both ordered veal dishes and both were chewy and tough. Not what veal should be. But how many times can you send something back to the kitchen? We just chewed/ate whatever we could and got out of there. We are disappointed that we wasted our money here when we could’ve had a better meal elsewhere in Little Italy.
Food and service is outstanding!! Closest to real authentic Italian food. Everyone is friendly and it’s my favorite testy in Baltimore to dine at by far!
The best Italian restaurant in Baltimore if you’re
looking for authentic Italian food in a family owned Italian restaurant. Their home made pasta is as good as my mom’s was - and that’s saying a lot. The chef, Nino, always stops by your table to make sure everything is satisfactory. It’s not inexpensive, but worth the money.
Hi Eddie! Thank you so much for the kind words. We truly believe in treating our guests like they are part of our family. We're honored that you would rate our pasta up there with your mothers- WOW what a compliment! We look forward to serving you again very soon. Take care!
The Chef never fails to prepare any dish the way we want it and it is always delicious.
Thank you for the 5 star review! Please come see us again soon!
The calamari was a little tough, but otherwise the food was excellent!
We went to La Scala for my Mother's 80th birthday. It was a wonderful celebration! Great food, atmosphere and service!
