The Flank steak was recommended but horribly salty and I like salty food: I couldn’t eat it. Way too much sauce. The bouillabaisse was ok and the salmon tartare was ok. Nice building and ambiance but horrible food. Maybe a good place for drinks.
Food was totally plain. No special flavours nothing that anyone could not do all home: Benedict eggs on muffins that were dry, breakfast sandwich totally normal, croque madame with toasts to much toasted.... Definitely things you won't expect when you pay for a brunch.
Also, no viennoiseries at the beginning for us while other people got...
Correct.
Beautiful interior, Nice staff, Subtle Music, but the food couldve been better. We started with an entree of the cheese platter and dozen oysters. The cheese platter was very nice, but the oysters werent chucked out of the shell properly. I took the filet mignon as a main, and my wife took the lobster pasta. There was a lack of seasoning on my filet mignon, and I didnt taste at all the foie gras in the foie gras sauce. The contrast of flavors and textures in the pasta didnt mix good at all and it needed more salt. Desserts were spot on amazing, and saved the experience. The Cocktails were done very well and tastes great! I would just like to add that water shouldve been given right away as soon as we were seated, we had our glasses filled 10 minutes after we received our cocktails. (Maybe my perception could be wrong, but from my experiences on eating out i feel that is common practice).
Excellent service, nourriture très bonne. Dessert au chocolat décadent!
La Societe is a beautiful restaurant with a stained glass ceiling that is connected to the Loews Vogue hotel. Overall, the food is fair at best and the service needs improvement. We ate there because we were too tired to leave the hotel. There was only 3 tables with people in the entire restaurant when we were there. Obviously, they do not have a very good reputation. This is a fairly expensive restaurant. I would not return to the main dining room. Stick to the bar area and order a snack! They need a new owner, chef and management.
The food was superb, service courteous, although at times a bit slow, and the setting was lovely. The menu would benefit from having a few more choices. Overall, I highly recommend La Societe - Montreal.
Waitress was vevry friendly and thorough. Food was good quality/price.
Excellent service!
Wow, the food was ridiculously good ! Service was excellent, there was nothing at all not to like !
Delicious food, great service and beautiful decor !
The waitress is hosting, but careless, not offer the water and offer the wrong plate. I think it is why has less clients come.
Really inviting space with warm wood tones reminiscent of Parisian bistros. We thoroughly enjoyed the cheese platter and our entrees were cooked to perfection.
Lovely decor, friendly, helpful service and good food. The flank steak is excellent.
I don't know if the chef was on vacation or what but none of the dishes were seasoned well and were not prepared as described by our waiter
Love this restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff is great. Oysters and seafood is a top choice.
This is the first time reviews from OpenTable have failed me. After reading great review after great review, I was excited to come here. My excitement was, in the end, unfounded. I checked "good" above for a lot of things because it was good; it just wasn't great or impressive. This is not a destination restaurant. Foie gras was lovely and perfectly done but you had to rescue it from being drowned in a cherry sauce. Similarly, the steak (which I ordered based on rave reviews here) was done perfectly with a nice crust and delightfully pink inside. But much like the demise of the liver, it was covered in sauce that overwhelmed instead of accented the steak. I was scraping it off with a knife in hopes of actually tasting some steak under there. (Is there such a thing as a sauce commission paid in Canada??) In the end, dessert to the rescue! The caramel creme brulee was simply perfect: a warm, hard shell protecting a cool, creamy center underneath, and a nice portion. Had there not been diners in sight of me, I would have licked the ramekin! Service was friendly, welcoming, and efficient, as it should have been for a mostly empty restaurant. One wonders (or doesn't) why so few had joined me. If you're nearby, sure, drop in. Manage your expectations. If you're not, there's surely something better and closer in your end of the city.
Nice place though food underwhelmed.
We enjoyed the food it was really good and the service was excellent! I really that the fact that you guys had a wide selection of seafood and cocktails!
good oysters; the cod (main dish) was ok but not worth the price.
We booked a reservation for 10PM, but when we arrived they told us that their kitchen stars closing at 10PM so most of the menu was not available. It would be nice to know ahead of time that I am booking dinner reservations at a restaurant that won't be serving the dinner menu when I arrive.
First night in Montreal, decided to try tnis , our hotel restaurant at Loews Vogue. The ambiance is inviting, fod and wine are interesting and service is attentive. We started with raw oysters and a snail and marrow bone appetizer, both very good as were flank steak and rabbit entrees. Would return, but we have an agenda of reservations to get through on this trip.
Visited twice over the GP weekend and excellent both times. Smallish menu but four of us tried different dishes and all excellent. Recommended.
Brunch was superb. The croque monsieur was perfectly Parisian. My friends were also very happy with the eggs Benedict and an excellent omelette. Service was very very good. A wonderful experience.
Superb food and service. Will be dining here again.
This place desperately needs new management, both front and back. The staff seemed totally uninspired, as was the food. Main course selections were limited and poorly executed - pub food masquerading as haute cuisine. Their expensive burger was extremely salty, as if trying to cover something up. Dining room was somehow very loud, despite being 3/4 empty on a Saturday night. The place seems to be on life support thanks to the Loews Hotel adjoining it.
Good variety in menu. Food was very good and service was excellent.
La Societe - Montreal offers a really memorable experience. The live music was lovely, the food was expertly prepared and the servers were warm and attentive. Highly recommended!
Great ambiance. The staff really takes care of you. Steak frites was delicious.
Well located, ambiance is quiet, great staff.
But food was terrible + salad was dirty.
Overpriced for quality of what your getting.
Great ambience and good service. Food was below standard for the price you’re paying.
One is always apprehensive when going to a restaurant adjacent or belonging to a high-brow hotel. Not in this case. Great food at a decent price. Good wine list with a good selection of wine by the glass of with half bottles. That allowed my wife and I to sample two different wines for our appetizer and main course meal. We told our waiter that we had a concert at the Bell Centre at 8 p.m. and the service was quick without being rushed. All around great experience. We will return.
Very nice for a Sunday brunch , not that crowded and noise , I really enjoy my Sunday with my friends there . We even stay until 5 pm after the brunch . Very nice place
Very nice place, attentive service and good food. Nice location, perfect for dinner after the Museum
