We waited more 40 minutes for our server to approach us no was tending to us. Furthermore, it took 45 minutes to get two drinks served; a very simple order and then to receive our food it was another hour. A simple pizza order. It's just pizza not a big endeavour. La Terasse was half full, therefore there is no excuse and there shouldn't be any excuse for such slow disrespectful service. In fact there should be service even if it is full capacity. High prices one would expect the service to go along with your descriptions on the website. What a incredulous disappointment. A further annoyance upon me entering my electronic payment, the waiter rudely and impolitely hovered so closely over my shoulder. What was that about? I looked at him to indicate that I was annoyed. He was invading my personal space so much that, I clearly had to tell him, '...to please may you allow me some distance. I had to repeat myself thinking he may understand in layman's terms, 'Thank you, I got this, I need a little space.' I must relay that I am regretful that I had given him a tip. I would have like to have my family come to this lovely location for a lovely sunset dinner, sadly La Terasse's service has disappointed immensely.

Came to La Terrasse to celebrate my boyfriend and I’s anniversary & it was perfect. We had the best view of the canal during the sunset, our waitress was super helpful and nice, the food was amazing & the ambience was the best.

This is the second time I’ve eaten here once last year and now again with my sister visiting Ottawa for the first time.The food once again was a major let down ! The lobster roll was the absolute worst tasting “lobster” I’ve ever eaten.Firsty it was not lobster it tasted , looked and smelled like imitation crab meat , I love lobster and have eaten it all I’ve the world , in restaurants and fresh from the Atlantic same day cooked at home.To charge a customer 42 dollars for a stale half bun with imitation crab meat considering the location of the resturant and the beautiful view it’s too bad the food can’t be better

The food was very good, as was the service (David). My issue was that upon arrival I was seated at a table in the interior while I had specified high top in my reservation. When I mentioned this to the hostess she said that I had not, and that she checked the reservation. After ordering drinks, I checked my email confirmation and sure enough, I had reserved a high top. We were moved to a high top table, and had impeccable service from David who even found us blankets to keep us warm on a very windy night! A little more attention on behalf of the hostess would have made for a perfect evening.

A wonderful view at sunset and great and friendly service by Katie who also comped wine for the lengthy wait for food. Unfortunately food took almost 2 hours to come out and steak was cold by the time it came out.

We made a reservation for our wedding anniversary, and were looking forward to a nice dinner on the beautiful patio. Unfortunately, the menu didn't have too many interesting choices, and seemed overpriced for what they offered. Our server was good, but the food seemed mediocre at best. They were nice enough to wish us a happy anniversary and provide a dessert. If we go back, it would be to have something simple like a pizza and a drink, but mainly to enjoy the atmosphere and the view.

Disappointing start as the first server had an attitude problem, but we changed server who was far nicer. The review gives an overall rating and would be far better if just rating the second server. However, the food rating is potentially unrepresentative as we left after drinks due to the disappointment over the experience.

I wouldn’t come here again. The view was amazing. The food, although there wasn’t too many options, it was good. However, we asked for ketchup for our fries. By the time we received the condiments, our meals were cold. We saw our server 3 times. We had one beer each and a burger with fries. It shouldn’t have taken as long as it did. The sunset was nice, however, the patio became very dark and they were unable to turn on the outdoor lanterns. There was a table abroad from us where the hostess took them to the table but the guests cleaned it from the previous people. AND when they got their food, one of the guests had to use her phone for them to be able to see their food. For spending $150 for 2 people, this experience was very not worth it.

Make sure you have lots of loonies in your wallet for lunch or dinner. I appreciate that restaurants have had a tough time post Pandemic but a hamburger for $36.00 feels excessive. I will say that the burrata salad was delicious...it did not come with foccacia. Our server offered it saying that the salad doesn't come with it. We did...it was $16.00 for four or five pieces. While I love the Chateau properties but I think in future I'll give this a miss.

Great location outside the château for viewing the locks and the parliament buildings. The food was decent. If you were looking for an outdoor pizza, nothing spectacular. The service seems slow possibly they were shortstaffed. Would go back again.

The location is perfect, with a great view of the parliament and the water. The patio is well decorated, very elegant. They have heaters for night time. The staff is excellent, very professional, kind and they go above and beyond to provide an incredible experience. The food is great, I had a steak which was perfect and my husband had a burger, which he said was ok for the price. Overall we would go again and Recommend this to anyone.

This is the perfect place for watching fireworks over the river. A nice bottle of wine, tuna tartare and a pizza, that could have had more cheese and less sauce, made for a nice outdoor night.

We came to La Terrasse with our friends for dinner and to watch the fireworks coming from Casino Lac Leamy. It was a magical evening. The dinner was yummy and the surrounding were breathtaking. The fireworks were the icing on the cake. We must give a high five to our waitress Caly who was so professional yet fun. She made us all feel like royalty and even supplied us with blankets when it got cold. What a wonderful evening. Thank you so much.

Went here with my daughter we were late due to trouble finding parking but we called ahead to let them know the hostess was really sweet and understanding. When we came we ordered our drinks and starter. We never got our starter the server a tall french man with glasses kept coming to our table and speaking in French even though our reservation we requested English. He made us feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome as we were very obviously English speakers. I had to go get him to let him know we wanted our bill. When I was using the machine to pay he literally stood right next to me over looking my shoulder which is soo inappropriate and wrong. I had to turn the machine away as I was putting my pin in. After I tipped him I guess too low for his liking he asked me what was wrong with the service. I told him we never got our starter we had to run as we had a boat to catch, I didn’t notice if they ended up charging me for the starter they probably did and I didn’t notice. Again inappropriate at least I tipped him when I shouldn’t have. Very disappointing only good thing was the view and hostess.

Great ambiance. Wasn't expecting a live band, volume was loud so had to shout to hear each other. The artist was great but we went there to catch up, not to listen to music. Service was not great. At first it was way too much, and then we were totally forgotten about. Food and drinks are overpriced but I think that's the case everywhere right now.

Service was great and waiter was responsive to our needs. The location is hard to beat in Ottawa, especially on a nice sunny and warm evening. What we did not like is that the server was not responsive to the needs of two people in our Party. We had two seniors, with sun in their eyes. Umbrella's could not be moved. The music was also loud, although good. It made it difficult to pursue a conversation at our table. Perhaps consider moving the music to another location or turn down the volume and have speakers placed in various locations so that all can hear.

It’s all about the view! The food was tasty although a little high $ for what we ordered and since the setting is very casual outdoor terrace. The service was very good - just the right amount of attention.
