   EXPENSIVE AF but worth it. Beautiful inside and the waiters are nice and helpful. The really got you with the bottomless mimosas; as soon as the glass was empty here they come with more champagne. I loved it

   Great experience. Ask for a special request and they honored it 🙏🏼🙌🏼. To top it off we showed up on a night that fireworks was being popped and it was an amazing view. Definitely a nice date spot or for a good time. Thank you La Vie!!

   Usually have a great time dining in at La Vie every time I go..but our server last night ruined our experience and we’re genuinely disappointed and will not be going back…he was rude and we didn’t understand why…didn’t even stay for dessert because who likes to be treated badly when they’re trying to enjoy a night out with family…disappointing

   Came for the bottomless brunch and mimosas — I am sorry but the food and service are not worth the price. They just aren’t. The best plates on the menu was the pancakes and French fries. Oh and the hostess were very nice and helpful. I wish they were servers. Also, I had to call out for my server 3-4 times and wait. He was never around. Not worth the money! Do not recommend.

    We arrived at 8:28pm for our 8:30pm reservation and were not seated until 9:15pm. The lobby was completely packed with over 50 people because they apparently accepted too many reservations and someone had bought out the penthouse. Very frustrating experience. The food was fine but overpriced.

    We came for Saturday brunch for a birthday. We did unlimited plates and mimosas and we don’t have one complaint. Service was excellent, the General Manager Mauricio, was so hospitable and kind, and we enjoyed almost every single plate! We will definitely be back. The garden room is where we were seated and it was stunning. ❤️

    The elevator to the penthouse was broken and they didn’t even care to inform the guests about this. Didn’t get to eat here and ate at Mi Vida instead which was delicious

    I dined at La Vie for Mother’s Day with my husband and 6 year old son. Despite having a reservation and arriving 10 minutes early, we waited 35 minutes for a table. Host was apologetic and was trying her best. We were seated in a beautiful but very crowded room. Employees often knocked into our table trying to get by. A runner ran into my son and burnt his arm with a very hot mac n cheese skillet. Table numbers were not clear to employees, and we were offered other tables orders many times despite waiting for our food for a long time. My son waited 30 minutes for a sprite. My husband never received sugar for his coffee which he requested twice. The overall impression was they overextended and overbooked the restaurant for the day. While the dining rooms are beautiful, the ambiance was chaotic and stressful. Food was good but we waited a long time for popular items like pancakes and waffles which were then cold. At the end, my son was charged $45 even though he is not 7. The server removed the charge but still added a 20% for a table of three. While the service was not good, it was not the employee fault. All seemed to be doing their best with a very poorly managed situation.

    The food and drinks were great, service was decent nothing spectacular. They ran out of the lamb shank by the time we got to the restaurant, so I got the lamb chop instead - it was delicious! My husband got the lobster risotto and loved it. The crème brûlée was okay, but not worth the $20. Service was “what would you like to drink, these are our most popular dishes, how is your food?” Nothing that stood out. This place was way too loud for my liking, we went here for our anniversary and could barely hear one another. Not sure we will be back as it’s too loud and the food was good, but nothing so exciting that we’d make the trek again.

    Our waiter was very rude, distant, and dismissive. When he greeted us after being seated, we asked about seasonal or popular cocktails. He rolled his eyes, and while looking at other tables,  proceeded to rattle off cocktails from the menu, as written, rather than making contact with us. We then told him how excited we were about the cotton candy baked Alaska dessert. We went on to share that we were visiting from out of town and made the three hour trip just to have it. His response was rude and cold. He said, and I quote…”you really shouldn’t make a reservation at this time of night unless it’s full service.” When we asked what “full-service”referred to he responded by saying “appetizers, dinner, and dessert.…but I’ll put your order in anyway.” Please note that we had a 9:00 pm reservation-a time long after most people would have eaten dinner. Needless to say, we went back to our hotel and shared our experience with our local friends and rest of the event guests visiting from out of town. Everyone was appalled by our experience, including the hotel staff. If you’d like people to come back, I’d suggest some major hospitality training and customer experience follow up. What a disappointment!

    Very good meal! Staff was great, food came out timely (actually very quick) and the venue has a great vibe and lively. We ordered a number of share plates (all excellent except the seafood misto which we weren't aware was fried and was a bit greasy) -- the chicken main course was awesome. The only downside is that the food price point is extremely expensive plus drinks were $20+ each (including 6 oz pour of wine)...then they automatically charge 20% for tip plus 4% "service charge" which they say you can take off (but who is going to do that after the bill comes?). Also, would advise not to drive down to the Wharf -- every lot was 100% filled/backed up and it took over half hour to find a spot. Uber down there!

    The host only greeted my husband even though I stood there for 15 minutes watching him seat other parties. My husband walks up, and he gave the most welcoming, “hello Mr.___, I have your table ready” as he gazed over me and my daughter.

    First time in this restaurant and in short, we had not a good experience: The waiter was really like a ’robot’, came to bring water, the drinks, not a word about the menu, but in the end, my bill included a 20% gratuity with the option of additional tip. I am not really ‘picky’, but at least could have been a bit more cordial or to show interest. The food: Tuna tartare: too much seeds, the sauces were just ok and the tuna was missing taste Octopus: not really a fresh aftertaste and sauces identical to the tuna Fettuccine with seafood: portion was right, pasta not ‘Al dente’, but the flavor was there if you like a creamy white sauce that will take away any seafood taste. Ambiance is really not my favorite, extremely loud for any type of conversation. In conclusion, if you want to show off with girl/boy friends maybe, for a dinner with your spouse, less ideal and if you want to enjoy good food, I would probably look into somewhere else.

    We had a fabulous time. It’s the perfect spot and it’s right next to the theater, which made it so easy for us to go to dinner and then to an event around the corner. We had the lam chops and one of the salads. The food is fabulous. A little on the pricy side, however, excellent food and service. The cocktails were great too. Definitely will return soon.

    Beautiful dining room and views of the Potomac river from this restaurant which is situated on an upper floor of a building right off the water. However, you are definitely paying for the views, as the prices are high (even post-inflation). The food is good, but not at a caliber that one might otherwise expect for the prices. It was worth experiencing once, but I don't think worth going back.

    We had a great experience. Everyone there greeted you with a smile and great energy. The ambiance ranges from dressy casual to fancy dressing. Our server Alex gave great recommendations with excellent feedback to help with our decisions. Our table ordered Roasted Chicken, Lamb Chops, and the Surf and Turf, and we are already ready to go back again! The only downside is there is no parking around the restaurant so you’ll need to Uber or park in a parking garage. Other than that, 1000% recommend dining with La Vie!
