Food and drinks are ridiculously overpriced. Greek salad was soggy, club soda was flat, bartenders lacked personality, and overall experience was bad. This place hasn’t changed since Tom’s horrible review a few years ago. Will never go back despite the good location.

This is the third time we go to La vie and with each experience it has gotten worse. Our waiter, Ricardo, was kind of dismissive and didn’t seem to want to attend to us, which was a shame because we went there for a special occasion. Not sure we will go there again because we go to La Vie not just for the good but for the whole experience (the view, the service, etc.). I’m sure there are other similar experience that would attend to us better.

It was our first time to try La Vie. We love the view of the Potomac River and the fine dining ambiance inside. We are so happy we chose to have our Thanksgiving Dinner there. The food selection was great, just right for Thanksgiving. We actually boxed some food since we were too full already. It was chilly outside, so the warm temperature inside was perfect. The lighting too gave it a more intimate feel. The servers were also accommodating. We had such a wonderful experience. Happy Thanksgiving!!! :)

I don’t even know where to begin I am so smitten with this place!! I did the Igloo brunch last Sunday, Thanksgiving dinner in the restaurant, and I’m doing the Igloo brunch again tomorrow. If you are frugal please don’t come and give them bad reviews. This place is your escape to elegance and it really is worth it! The food was amazing! Come on people! The spices from the Med can’t be beat! Drinks precisely strong and I did the math calculations using a level of intoxication x price and it was no more pricey than those weak drinks at other places. Again, win! Service? Stop it with all the jumping through hoops to accommodate me and my several changes in numbers of people and times of my reservations! I will get to know everyone at this restaurant.

Our Meditteranean spread appetizer and my mushroom risotto were terrific. A couple of glasses of sangiovese wine rounded out the meal. I will definitely go back again!

Lovely venue, good food. View is very nice though with the end of daylight savings we were only able to see the lights of the boats and wharf. The view will probably be great when holiday lights abound. Food excellent as always

This was my second time coming for brunch and I love it! The ambiance, the decor, the energy of the patrons, just smells like MONEY! My friend and I finally got to try the cotton candy baked Alaska; love the experience but wouldn’t get it again (maybe bc it’s too sweet for me lol). Overall, I love their brunch!

Overpriced and restrictive Sunday brunch. I saw the $54 brunch menu online, but I thought they would also have an a la carte option. It is not clear on the website, so be careful and know that the only brunch option is $54/person, 20% tip automatically added on top and drinks are not included. The menu is fixed, so you can't chose the food they serve either (unless you have food alergies). Food itself was excessive and not great. Add two drinks per person (coffee and beer) and you walk out with a $100 per person check for breakfast. I think the fact that it is the only option for brunch should be more clearly stated on the website so people know what they come in for.

My boyfriend and I went to La Vie for his 30th birthday and it was absolutely incredible. I had requested a table with a good view and they really did deliver, placing us next to the window so that we could see the wharf, even left him a birthday card. All staff were very attentive and kind.
The food was delicious and well worth the price. We had the rib-eye and the seafood tagliatelle, both of which were expertly prepared and up there as one of the best meals we’ve had in DC. The desserts and appetizers were equally well prepared and delicious. The drinks were gorgeous and worth a steeper price tag as well.

It was good but definitely over priced for what it was. I had the Halibut she had the Sea Bass. Tip is auto at 20% but our guy was good so no issues there. No draft beer selection at all even though it is on the menu. Expect over priced for average food.

We went for weekend brunch, and it was lovely. Positives- beautiful view of the city, lovely atmosphere, service on point. Do try the espresso martini. The brunch had a little bit of everything and was definitely more than enough for 3 people (we were two). Definitely great spot in a great location. We loved being able to walk around the wharf.

The cost was a little steep regarding brunch was over $54, and unlimited mimosas was $39. Cost individually was over 100 per person. Definitely try at least once, will go back for a special occasion.

Got off to a great start, as the crowd grew service slowed, then they got it all back together. The menu is diverse and fun, the food is tasty, the atmosphere is sophisticated, the client is diverse. All and all a great spot for a special brunch.
