Lake Road Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The service was awesome. We were well attended to and promptly. The ambiance was matured and conducive. The food was perfect as well. Above all the employees were very pleasant and respectful
Nice restaurant, good food. Limited choice for vegetarians although does advertise as vegetarian friendly.
not sure why their system didn't have my open table confirmation #. What is the point of using OT when I can easily call the restaurant myself?
Average food for the price, we were pretty disappointed to be honest as we were looking forward to trying this place. There are much better restaurants in Hamilton and not as expensive.
Excellent service. Amazing food. Great for foodies. Been here many times. Will come back again and again!!!
Casual atmosphere comfortable setting and outstanding food. The service was great, knowledgeable and the chef/owner’s presence was appreciated. We love this kind of dining and meeting the chef always adds a personal touch.
Fabulous as always! Great food! Great service! Thank you so much!
Food was outstanding! Worth the drive from Oakville.
Delicious food, great atmosphere and service. Amazing as always!
Sean was amazing and helped me out wantching the sodium. Great pasta feature for my wife and Great steak for me. Definitely would return.
Great meal great service. Really enjoyed our time here.
Food was amazing. I had the sirloin and it was cooked to perfection. The only down side is that it's very expensive. I had one glass of wine which was $17 and an app and an entrée and with tip, my bill was $97.00...just for me!! Ambiance was very cozy and comfy and our waitress Tina, was great. I'd definitely go back.
It was a bit loud but there were a few celebrations the night I went. I'm sure on a regular day the crowd noise isn't so high. The service was amazing, the food beautiful to look at and delicious! High end on the prices. $17 for a glass of wine is a bit much but still a great place.
Our server wasn’t overly attentive leaving us without drinks for a while. The new bus boy was great ensuring our water was always filled however we could see that the rest of the staff was frustrated with him. We felt terrible for him. Twice runners brought the wrong food to our table in error. Simple mistake but our entrees took over an hour after our apps had been cleared. The food was just ok. Not a great dining experience.
We've been to their other Restaurant Twisted lemon so we suspected it would be good. Food and service was excellent.
The service , creative and delicious cuisine, and relaxed atmosphere made for a great evening. If you love food and have enough to splurge a little this is a great downtown spot.
We had great service and wonderful food. The three of us all had something different and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the creative dishes. Loved the pork jowl. Disappointed that there was no homemade ginger beer for my Moscow mule. We will be back !
We went to Lake Road Restaurant for our anniversary and had a great time. The service, food, and atmosphere were all amazing
All staff were incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming! The lemon pepper wonton snacks were addictive and our appetizer, mains, and cocktails were all very well put together. Would recommend for a nice evening out!
Best tomahawk steak and calamari
Out to celebrate a birthday. Great food & not noisy. Easy to carry on a conversation. Service was terrific & the meal was filling. Would definitely go again!
Great place. Service was awesome. Callamari was a bit over-salted. Sat in the front area. Dressed for AC and the front area had the window open so we got quite warm....but that's no fault of the restaurant. Overall, was quite pleased with the experience. Wait staff was engaging, knowledgable, while being professional and curt.
Would love to come back and try the lamb.
We were seated quickly. Server was great. Explained the menu and drinks. Tried some of her suggestions which turned out great. Meals were excellent and allowed some minor deviations. Dessert and coffee were good but unfortunate that the espresso machine was broken. Will try it again.
Eagerly anticipated our Anniversary dinner at Lake Road and was not disappointed. Cannot say enough about the creativity of the menu. The food was outstanding and unlike anything we've tasted. You need to add Lake Road to your list of places to eat.
Amazing service, great food, lovely atmosphere! I would definitely recommend this restaurant! A++
An anniversary dinner, and seems we go back each year to Lake Road. Always a great meal, great service too. Although we miss the braised octopus appy and flank steak main! Nevertheless still an excellent meal and evening. Shaun our server is always great too.
Our meals were excellent in taste and presentation. Always enjoyed my visits to this place.
The server was a bit off with her timing even though her table load was light. Main was very closely served on the heels of the appetizer when we specifically requested a leisurely pace (the restaurant was quite empty). The server (a different one) confused two of our four drinks, all of our mains and two of three desserts when brought to the table. My husband and I loved our meals - our friends are picky without justification so I'm not sure how they felt about their meals. We will be back but will probably visit Twisted Lemon first :)
Very happy with the meal we had there. Pleasant staff, good service, great tasting food.
Menu items are so creative, well presented and delicious! Special requests were accomodated with a smile.
Everyone ordered something different so we were all able to taste each of the dishes.
Lamb, trout, steak, paste feature....it was all great! Thank you!!!!
My husband and I happened to be in Hamilton and found there was space available at Lake Road on Open Table. The restaurant was recommended by my sister plus we had eaten previously at Twisted Lemon.
My sister was right. What a fantastic meal. The server Kathleen was very helpful with describing the options for the evening. In fact, the staff was attentive and friendly. The food was creative and delicious. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and will definitely be back.
Best meal we have ever had. It's pricier than advertised ($$$$$$$$), but fully worth it.
A delightful little gem with a limited but very good menu if a bit heavy on steak. The dishes we like best were the chorizo stuffed kalamari served on a sort of ratatouille , the cumin scented lamb shanks and the rainbow trout. The trout was perfectly cooked with crisp skin and just cooked flesh served on creamy lentils with roasted tom thumb tomatoes and sauteed radishes.
Wine selection is well balanced and reasonable. Cocktails are unusual and delightful.
Ambiance is a bit noisy in the front section open to the road and the lack of curtains means the person facing the street was blinded by the sun. The street noise and smells also invade this small area.
We have been to Lake Road a few times now, both with friends and for date night. It is our new favourite dinner place in Hamilton. We enjoy sharing entrees and desserts. The atmosphere is friendly and casual with a touch of class. Everything on the menu is worth trying!
Exquisite food, friendly and efficient waiter, overall an A+ experience.
From the time we walked in until we left the whole experience was amazing. People are so nice, helpful, courteous - excellent service.
And the food was outstanding as well. My mom who is a vegetarian and has several dietary restrictions was with us. Unfortunately, she couldn't have the soup on the menu and the restaurant had run out of the Avocado Flan (which I too wanted to try). But the restaurant was king enough to prepare a special pasta for my mom..truly appreciate that kind of service.
Our starter was Quattro Tuffo - you have to try this one!! This comes with five different dips and the Carrot-Harissa puree is out of this world!!!
Hubby ordered the Steak and I ordered the Stuffed Confit Chicken - both of which were perfectly cooked and outstanding...Absolutely loved the chicken-perfectly crisp and tender!!
Our server, Shawn was very helpful, courteous and the girl at the bar (did not get her name) was very good too..
All in all it was worth the drive , despite the rains!!!
And we will definitely go back!!!
Very impressed with atmosphere especially for James st hamilton. Nice trendy look with unique charm. Witnessed a large group served "family style" on a long wood board. Food was good...mix of options. Definitely worth a try! Only disappointment was realizing the oven is gas and not wood burning.
My wife and I had a great experience dining at the lake road for the first time. The food was incredible. The service was great. Especially considering how busy the restaurant was, and how few staff they actually had. I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone. And will tell everyone I know to pop in at some point. Thanks again.
Food was excellent. I've been thinking about the pasta creation of the day since consuming. Whiskey sours were both beautiful and delicious!
The food was excellent as was the service - a great way to spend the evening before the Art Crawl
