    Great restaurant in an area where there are is not a lot of choices! Beautiful resort. Chef personally worked with us to create just what we wanted and was very patient and accommodating (with our kids -9 and 14). Delicious vegetarian options and desserts. Dining room wasn’t totally cosy but great experience nonetheless. Worth the drive, we’ll be back on special occasions!

    Lovely location in a remote forest near Algonquin Park. We had the smoked turkey croissant and chicken alfredo. Both were delicious and freshly prepared with fresh salad greens on the side. Service was very attentive.

    Excellent ambiance and very good food. Beautiful environment and surroundings. Reception was impeccable. We’ll definitely go back again. Can’t wait to try the spa amenities. Very happy and good experience.

    Overpriced and a 20% gratuity was added to the bill. Self billed as a "world culinary experience" it was good, even very good but it wasn't "world culinary". The dinning room can seat 40+/- and on a Sat night in June there were 8 people seated including us (party of 2). We had a beet salad, bruschetta, a prosciutto wrapped chicken and mash with a hint of curry. Very tasty. And a mushroom chicken fettuccine that was also above average. We each started with a cocktail and also had dessert and coffee. So far so good ? Our waiter was awesome, chatted with him quite a bit and he was did everything he could. Hard to create a great atmosphere in a big empty space. Not a big deal. What rubbed us the wrong way: 1.) 20% gratuity added to the bill (i would have given more if offered the chance) but adding it withouth my knowledeg or consent got under my skin. 2.) As we entered the building a sales pitch to buy a condo on the property (we just came for dinner!) 3.) Cost. No wine and it was $211 (including the 20% gratuity they decided I should pay). At best this was a $120-$140 meal. Next time we go out for dinner in the Haliburton area we'll go back to Rhubarb Restaurant. They offer everything Nomi 8Fifty does but better.

    We dined at 850 for dinner and breakfast during a stay midweek at Nomi. I am someone with many dietary restrictions and was so impressed at how the chef/sous chef totally accommodated me and didn't compromise quality or taste. I had the beef short ribs, with a a green salad. Amazingly fresh and tasty ingredients, lovely presentation and perfect portion size. Breakfast the next day was equally impressive. Fresh eggs, perfectly cooked bacon, and loved the petite salad it came with. We enjoyed it so much we had dinner again our second night. I had the salmon which was perfectly cooked and my husband the Indian Chana. He prefers a more saucy dish than what was served, but I politely reminded him we were the only diners that night and they made the dish fresh for him. We would definitely recommend and return.

    Chef Hugo was very personable, his food top grade; however, the initial reception at the resort in the lobby was less than congenial. It was in fact confusing and disorganized. Even though we had a reservation, we were told the dining room was closing at noon. Then 5 minutes later that the dining was opening at noon. Surprising since I was encouraged to come at 11:30 when I called the resort a week earlier.

    Through a glitch in the booking system we were able to reserve a table after the fall hours had been cut back. After speaking with Elise, she made special accommodations for our evening and we were surprised to find we were the only ones in the restaurant. Their dedication to service and quality is outstanding and we will definitely be coming back!

    Absolutely delicious!!! I’ve never had lobster bisque before, just an awkward imitation. This was delicious! Husband opted for a salad, and we loved the dressing and different interesting ingredients. My pasta was stupendous: I never order pasta when I dine out…it’s just noodles, but theirs was so perfectly cooked. I loved every bite of the dish. Husband had steak frites He had to choose medium or rare, no middle ground, but his rare steak was perfect for him, w a lovely char on it. His frites were still crispy and tasty down to the final one: he could not recall having better fries. I DIDN’T ASK, but the restaurant might not be licensed for alcohol. Since there was no corkage fee, I splurged on the wine. The main courses were a little slow in coming…maybe 20 guests eating simultaneously. Otherwise, please come out and support this restaurant. It’s the best. We will return again

    The decision to have lunch at Lands 8Fifty was the best decision we made all summer. The food was extraordinary, the service outstanding and because we were the only guests at the time, the chef's conversations were a bonus. Thank you!     Excellent meal and pleasant conversation with the chef. Dining room needed a little attention to clean windows and window sills and the view of the uncut/trimmed grounds could be improved. We enjoyed our dining experience and will return again.

    The service was very good and the menu was well-designed. Decor was modern and tidy. Unfortunately, most of the seals of the windows were damaged so the view was marred significantly. The appetizers were OK but the main courses were not very good. Beef short ribs were almost tasteless. Chicken was not cooked properly...the chicken skin was white, fatty and undercooked. I lost my appetite entirely. I try to support local restaurants, but I will not return to this one.

    French onion soup was very good. Apparently cooks for 3 days. Red pepper soup was nice. Steak was thin and tough. Fries were very nice. Giant tiger back prawns looked like regular size shrimp to me and were just okay. The side salad was amazing. Avacados cherry tomatoes and Rose petals with an amazing dressing. Fantastic. There have been improvements made but the property still needs a lot more tlc

    We stayed at Nomi for our anniversary and it was the MOST bizarre experience. Pretty sure the resort isn’t actually open and that we were one of maybe 3 other booked rooms. The food at the restaurant was great and the service was good as well but everything else about our experience at Nomi was strange. I would recommend eating there but never to stay there.

    Everything was absolutely delicious … bit of a diamond in the rough quite literally. The chicken linguine was incredible and we were delighted to find a reasonable kids menu available for our under 18 diners. Who would have thought they could have Mac and cheese followed by crème brûlée? We LOVED our meal!! Will definitely be back 🥂

    Food was amazing! You can tell quality ingredients were used! Service was incredibly attentive as my partner has a gluten allergy and the resort worked with us to ensure the meals were prepared safely. Chef visited us for feedback and to get to know us! Server was very great also. No corking fee for wine. Just an amazing experience. We will be back for sure!

    To find a place 15 minutes drive from our cottage in Harcourt Park is amazing And that place is a restful oasis with delicious food and surrounded by nature is a wonderful treat The chef came out and we could congratulate him on his creativity

    We stayed at the Nomi resort a week ago and we ate at this restaurant for our 2 nights there. I can not say enough good things about our experience. The food is phenomenal, the service was impeccable, we would definitely recommend this restaurant. The presentation was something you would see at a high end restaurant in Toronto. We had such a nice experience we can't wait to go back.

    Unfortunately the restaurant was like the resort.... The website look great, however the real thing was very lackluster. They failed to mention that they were not licensed "yet" when I booked. And there was no updates or communication since my booking in February. I'm not adverse to bring my own alcohol but it would have been nice to know before I got there. It was just very underwhelming and not organized very well.

    The food at Lands8fifty is nothing but 5 star. This was my 2nd visit and everything we had was amazing. The presentation was outstanding. Elise, Hugo & Drew were top notch in service and cooking. I will definitely be going back as it is only a 15 minute drive from out cottage.

    Due to 50% operational capacity currently, it was hard to reach out to them by phone but still drove the 200kms from Newmarket and luckily found everything was open. The property is beautiful and the restaurant has a very beautiful setting. The building itself has a Nordic design character to it and it overall feels amazing. The staff and host were amazing and the food was exquisite. The only thing we missed was alcohol as we didn't do the research and ended up missing the BYOB sign on their website. Anyway, we were quite impressed overall. The food and overall services are quite on the pricey side though. Consider this place to be a sort of a fine dining venue. We had 1 entrée, 2 mains, a dessert and a coffee without any other drinks and the bill incl gratuity ended up close to $150.
