We thoroughly enjoyed our Anniversary Dinner at Langdon Hall. The service, staff, food and atmosphere was outstanding. We also enjoyed walking through the grounds and enjoying the garden.
At our visit yesterday for lunch the dining room was not busy while we were there, and a corner table was free which would allow my wife and I to sit beside each other; our preferred configuration as we are both hard of hearing. The waitress told us that this vacant table, which had no 'Reserved" sign on it, was reserved for 'VIP Guests'. Instead, she seated us at the next table where we struggled to hear one another during the meal. Alas, no "VIP Guests" came during the time we were there so the table sat empty. We have been dining and staying at Langdon since the 1990's, but now that I understand that we are a lower-tier of guest, we'll be visiting less often.
Lovely brunch with our family to celebrate a special birthday.
Any choices of vegan menu?
Any non dairy milk for coffee?
I would like to see vegan menu in my next visit
Overall everything is super and the chefs are putting their hearts on the food, really appreciated
The whole dining experience was excellent. Two of us had the halibut which was delicious and everyone enjoyed their dinner. The ambience was perfect and the service was great.
Excellent overall. Only lost stars due to fellow patrons who were FaceTiming obnoxiously, and because they are considered “regular VIPs” it wasn’t addressed by staff.
Great overall experience. The appetizer, main plate and wine pairing were great. The service was outstanding!
With regards to ambiance, it always depends on who is dining. On our particular evening, it felt a bit on the posh side....the opposite of a Joe Beef or Liverpool ambiance.
I think that I would return with a larger group to do the pairing menu. The menu looked very promising...
Lunch with friends from Toronto. They loved the freshness of the dishes and spoke with the chef that was on hand.
We had the chefs tasting menu. Some of the most creative and delicious courses I have ever had. CJ’s service was outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Was a great way to celebrate our anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make our night special.
This was a birthday dinner with class...
I took my husband here for his 50th birthday and everything about it was perfect. We have been to some high-end places before but this place beat them all. The food was incredible but what makes this experience above the rest is the service. From the time you enter the establishment, you are taken care of and made to feel very special.
The place is also very clean and well-taken care of...not tired like some other places.
The house, ambience and general service is excellent.
Excellent meal, lovely touches throughout experience.
Amazing service and unique, delicious food
Langdon Hall is our favourite restaurant in Ontario. Exceptional in every way - a very special ambience as well. When you leave down the long drive, you are so sad to go!
The service and food were both incredible. The staff was courteous, friendly and clearly passionate about incredible food and great service!
Service and food have changed since we were here a few years ago. I mentioned in the booking it was our 30 th wedding anniversary but it was not mentioned to us at all during our stay. Too bad we used to rave about how wonderful it was to dine here.
Breakfast at Langdon Hall has been our anniversary tradition for many years, and it never disappoints!
Dining at Langdon Hall is truly a marvellous experience. From the food to the setting, in the garden, under the leaves of a gigantic tree gives one a sense of quiet luxury. A moment to cherish.
A very disappointing Sunday brunch. Food had no seasoning - bland at best. (Seemed to be a common complaint. Table next to us sent back their pork dish as inedible. Ordered trout and then sent that back bc it was tasteless .)
Pasta was heavy in a weird chicken broth of sorts. Burrata salad was drowned by a tasteless tomato water poured over it at serving. The burrata was very grainy and swimming in this water. Looked awful. Tasted worse .
While salt is often minimal, herbs are used to add flavour. Not so here .
Drink order never received. Coffee at end never received .
Lengthy wait times - first for a table that was being fixed for us only to be told we had been overlooked and someone else got our table.
Lengthy wait times between courses.
Staff very pleasant BUT inattentive, slow, and very forgetful about everything.
Overpriced for awful food and worse service.
Not worth the drive.
Great food great service!
The lunch menu disappointed. I had the scallop sashimi. It was underwhelming. My husband had the torchon de foie gras, which was much better. We both had the trout, which while properly cooked had less than exciting sides. Overall, this felt like something I could have done myself, which is not saying much for one of the best restaurants in the country. I had looked forward to eating here for literally years, but I don’t expect to be back. Uninspiring food; perhaps the chef was off on Saturday? That said, the service, provided by a young Irishwoman with a sense of humour, was excellent.
Very costly for the experience. The appetizers and the main course were lukewarm at best and oversalted. The scallop ravioli which sounded great turned out to be boring lacking in any taste except salt, with the pasta being undercooked and hard.
The short rib entree was not appealing visually at all and looked like a segment of cadaver that I saw many times in my anatomy training.
I had taken my business partners family including his 8 year old daughter. She ordered Mac and Cheese off the kids menu. It was lacking in cheese and would have been fine for adults but was not designed for the unrefined palate of a young girl.
I have been to Langdon Hall many many times and this is perhaps the worst experience I’ve had.
I don’t understand how the food is the 4th best best restaurant in Canada! It def was not worth the drive! The food was not great! Very disappointed.
We did the 11 course tasting menu with wine pairings for my husbands birthday. Incredible!!! One of the best meals we have had anywhere in the world. 5 star taste, presentation and creativity. Bravo!
Amazing food and experience! It is worth getting the chef’s tasting menu
Absolutely perfect in every way.
The food was delicious, service was excellent. An awesome experience to the senses.
Loved the whole experience, the food was amazing, great service and great recommendations from our waitress! For a tasting menu, the speed at which the different dishes came out was just perfect - I usually find that you wait a while in between, in most places. My boyfriend and I had a great time, the venue made sure to make this birthday dinner one to remember :). I would definitely visit again!
I think next time I will make sure to come a bit earlier so I can enjoy the garden before dinner; it was too late (and dark) by the time we finished dinner. I'd also recommend going for dinner before 8:30pm as we finished our dinner close to midnight!
Everything was very good, or outstanding, with one exception: the portions for the main course were far too small. If the portions for the components of the main course were two or three times the size the cost to the restaurant would be very little but the value added would be tremendous.
A friend and I splurge once a year when we meet to celebrate our birthdays. The day we visited LH was warm and sunny so we opted to eat on the terrace. I ordered the beet- gratin, halibut and mini sweets for dessert. All was delicious. My friend enjoyed squid, the spatchcocked hen, and LH ice cream for dessert. We enjoyed the afternoon and stayed for several hours without feeling hurried. We have always enjoyed our annual splurge at LH, and although we didn’t avail ourselves of the spa this time, on other visits it has been superb.
We went to Langdon hall for my husband's birthday and had a fabulous time. The food was amazing and our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about both the dishes and the wines that would compliment the dishes. If you have not been and do not want to travel to Toronto for a wonderful meal - Langdon hall is worth the visit.
The most delicious meal I have ever had. Such a lovely location.
À wonderful culinary experience in beautiful settings, supported by great staff. can’t wait to go back!
Overall the experience was good. I suggest that more signage is needed to let drivers know where the restaurant is and that there is valet parking.
Hate to do this, but honestly, there are a lot of other restaurants in Toronto that I would prefer over Langdon Hall. Given that I am from Toronto, it is more than a minor inconvenience for me to make it over to Cambridge, which may have coloured my experience. The execution of the kitchen was excellent, but the food itself was not so innovative or super refined that it justified the reputation.
I know Langdon Hall earned Relais & Chateau designation, but service was not to the level I expected, and given the price, a bit disappointing. Compared to Alo which also earned the same distinction, I would say Alo was heads and tails above in both food and service. To be fair, I had lunch at Langdon Hall, and Alo only has dinner service, so maybe it's not a fair comparison.
I would go back to Langdon Hall again, but for the ambiance and to visit Cambridge proper. But I would not consider the restaurant a destination in itself.
It was a wonderful experience. The food was incredible!!..the chef is amazing!!
Superb service. Extraordinary wine list and helpful sommelier. Will return.
Only criticism (and there are few) is that the food options were generally rich preparation.
At our arrival, since we arrived at 4:00pm and the dining room opened at 5:0”pm we sat at the solarium area and ordered drinks and some food, after 1hr; no food was served and when we were ready to go into the dining room, they were going to served the food, people that arrived after us were already served!
My daughters were very hungry that’s why we ordered something ahead!
The drinks are the only ones that they brought us! The waitress was very unfriendly, I can’t not remember her name at the solarium area.
The manager took care of the bill from the solarium. However, the apperitizer that I ordered it wasn’t the one that I ordered!
I was not going to complain, I was too upset by then. the service was too slow, seems that the table and the location was concentrated only in one area!
I understand that the mark up for the wine is up to 300 % but I believe it was perhaps 600% mark up in this case.
We ordered a Chatea/ Beaugerdad. 2010
$290.00 + Etc. we enjoyed it but I believed it was tremendously marked it up for the type of wine🧐
In overall, I am not impress, I can’t not give you a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ !!
Service has to improve, neither to say the Port that I ordered as well, they had to open another bottle, since the one in the decanter it was terrible and the one they gave me needed to age!
Thank you for the experience!
However, we would like to go back and have a better time! With more time and a better service !
Carolina, Wolf , Bridget and Victoria
Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff, excellent food. Limited menu however the items we ordered were exceptional therefore we did not mind at all.
