    The setting is beautiful, However, the service was super slow. It took 35 minutes before our wine was served. The food was cold. And the flavors were average.

    Both of our servers, Lauren and Joseph, were phenomenal throughout the entire dinner. Joseph was very patient and went back and forth to the kitchen to ensure that I was ordering something that would not trigger my seafood allergy. Gina, the manager on shift, was very kind and was able to sit us at a table near the live lounge singer even though we had forgotten to ask for that in our reservation. Overall, the entire evening was amazing and the staff was integral in making that happen!

    We had made a reservation for 6 people at 715 for 3 birthdays about 2 weeks prior. Several of us had to change our orders several times due to kitchen being out of dishes on the menu. We waited and hour and a half for our food. Final straw was they ran out of Parmesan cheese. An Italian restaurant! Servers did all they could to please us. It was the kitchen that was the downfall of this meal. Never got a visit from management. I had to go tell them about the problems. We didn’t have birthday dessert because everything took so long.

    My Father celebrated his 87th Birthday here! Lovely ambience and good food albeit an interesting variation on Italian classics. The staff were wonderful and we enjoyed live music on the piano. A good time was had by all!

    It used to be so good. Now the service is slow, and the food has gotten progressively worse. The drinks are great but that's about it. Brown lettuce in my salad, gelatinous marsala sauce, and a total of 8 of the smallest clams you've ever seen in my linguini with clam sauce.

    We were disappointed with with could be an amazing experience. It started off waiting 15 minutes for our cocktails. We had ordered a bottle of wine for dinner and they brought that first. The appetizers were out of proportion and too large. We sent some back as it was too much food. They brought the bread (very good) after we were finished with our first course - didn't make sense. A few of the dinners were fine but others lacked taste and presentation. Overall, we were dissatisfied. It's such a shame because the building/old house is really interesting and has great potential.

    It was my husbamds birthday and our anniversary. .my husband was really looking forward to their short rib pasta. Unfortunately they were out. So he ordered rigatoni..which was excellent as was the filet i had. They comped us his dessert and bruscetta to make up for not having the short rib pasta. Rachael was our server...so attentive..excellent. we had a lovely evening. Everyone was so nice.

    After welcoming us for our 43rd anniversary and seating us, everything went downhill from there. This restaurant needs lots of fine tuning to become fine dining; from the chef level down; little attention was given to inventory, preparation, quality, presentation or even showing concern about customer feedback. How do the servers not even know about using a cocktail fork with seafood and having to go find one? Staff from the host level to the runners (except the server. Who was professionally dressed) were dressed less than the smart casual attire the restaurant wishes from their diners. Dress shirts hanging out, jeans on the runner, not even being sure which dinner goes to whom. Good for a local neighborhood Italian at 1/3 the price, maybe. The seafood was not fresh and was overcooked. Sea bass was fried, really?, and over cooked. I thought it was tilapia at $38. I enjoyed the Ceasar salad and the old fashioned cocktail. Several menu items were not available at 6:30 pm. Great server though made the dinner better. Even though concerns were expressed to several staff, no one cared enough to come to our table to deal with the quality or even apologize. We ordered zuppe de pesche at a signature price which was recommended by the server ($65!!!), it was beyond disappointing, it was inedible. A food truck offers better quality and value. I would not return. We are open minded and dine on many levels. It's all about quality. It's not here.

    We dine here often and are extremely pleased; however, last night’s service was not the usual best. My husband’s linguine and clams was delicious but was a paltry portion that was gone in three forkfuls. My osso bucco was fabulous. My salad came smothered in cheese even though I had asked my tab to be marked “no dairy.” It had to be recreated and then the timing of everything was off from there. When we arrived I went to the bar for a glass of wine. Servers were milling about with no seeming purpose but I was not offered a drink and when I politely spoke up I was told I had to wait. I’ll dismiss this experience as an off night but I hope to not see a pattern.

    This was our second time dining at LaScala and we were, once again, underwhelmed. The restaurant is gorgeous! Every room is beautifully decorated with antiques. The bar area is quaint and lovely. That being said, our food was not good. We had appetizers, salads, entrees, and dessert. The apps were the best. The salad was drowning in dressing. The fish was way over cooked. The sauce on the Osso Bucco was too thick. The tiramisu was mushy. The bread made it to our table after the entrees. In addition, it seemed odd that the wait staff was dressed in Halloween costumes. This is a fine dining restaurant. Wait staff walking around in masks might have been fun for them but took away from the ambiance. Our host(manager), Gina, was the highlight of our experience. She’s warm, knowledgeable on the history of the restaurant, and a truly wonderful front person. I’m sorry to say we won’t be back as we are locals, and there are too many other good restaurants in Savannah.

    We, my wife and friends, have eaten here many times and always enjoyed it. Excellent food and drink and atmosphere. While our last visit was no exception, our waiter was new (she said) and could have used a little help. Alas, the kitchen was still baking their always delicious bread and none was available for us.

    Great experience! Service was prompt and orderly. Appitizers were brought out hot and fresh and ample time was given before entree arrived. Crab soup for appetizer and Osso Bucco for entree. Both were excellent. Highly recommend.

    The atmosphere in the " La Scala" Ristorante was excellent, very well decorated house to the last detail.We loved very much the musician at the entrance ,who increased the atmosphere extremely. This part made it much more enjoyable .The food is made by professionals ,just my small salmon portion was not adequate to the price .

    Booked table for two and was seated immediately upon arrival, despite arriving almost 15 minutes early. Great service from the entire staff, especially our waitress, Rachel. Food was excellent as always, with artful preparation evident from appetizers to entrees. Even found on-site free parking. Not inexpensive, but worth it. Highly recommended.

    The restaurant vibe was fantastic. Server was very knowledgeable. Food was tasty and quickly served. Only negative was they were out of several items early in the evening. Our reservations were at 6:30.

    Beautiful mansion, offering fine dining but limited parking. Parking seemed to be limited to employees only. We arrived at 5pm and had to park two blocks away. Interior dining rooms were lavishly furnished, and and staff was pleasant and attentive, with the exception of the bar. We ordered drinks before food. However, bar service was so slow that appetizers arrived before cocktails. Website commented on professionally trained wait staff, however our server did not know the difference between a draft beer and a bottle beer and unknowledgeable on menu specifics . Overall food, service, and atmosphere was in the fine dining range, but not worthy of a special event. This is not where I would take a guest if expectations are 5 star all around.

    Beautiful! This mansion turned restaurant is absolutely a wonderful dining experience. Each room is individually decorated and presents the diner with an artfully appointed decor that is rich with history. Our server was not only well acquainted with the menu but also took us on a tour through the home ... thank you,Mccall. The food was perfectly done and artfully presented. A great place for an Anniversary dinner while in Savannah. Dinner for 2 w/o alcohol ~ $145. Look forward to another trip.

     We were in Savannah for our anniversary weekend and decided to try out the restaurant. We ordered drinks, a glass of red wine and their special spiced sangria. The sangria was so heavy with spice, It was undrinkable. We sent it back and they did take it off the bill which was nice. We ordered the special…risotto with lobster tail. We asked them to take the lobster tail out of the shell but that request was ignored as it was served within the shell at the table. The lobster tail was dry because it wasn’t served with any drawn butter. The asparagus was undercooked making it hard to eat and the risotto was overcooked causing the texture to be like glue. For my dish, I ordered the lasagna which arrived burnt causing a charred taste. As we were leaving, I would’ve thought that the maître d would ask the age old question….How was your experience? Did you enjoy your meal?…nope, just said “bye-bye”.

    Several disappointments: The bar wasn’t open at 5 when we arrived so we just stood around until our reservation at 5:30. There was little effort to accommodate one of our party who is lactose-intolerant. We were seated close to the kitchen and had to ask to be moved to a quiet corner. Having said that, the food was very good with ample portions. The server was excellent and the ambiance is the reason to go; it’s a beautiful place.

    My friend and I came here and absolutely LOVED IT! We were greeted at the door by a kind, wonderful host named Micheal. We asked to move tables and he accommodated beautifully (definitely ask for a window seat!). Our waiter, Hunter, perfectly timed everything, answered all of our questions, and was incredibly sweet. When he brought us our cocktails, they were so good we knew we were in heaven. Jacob brought us our food and chatted with us like we were old friends. And the food? It was AMAZING! We had the filet and the La Scala chicken and they were both melt in your mouth, perfectly seasoned, and perfectly prepared. It was a beautiful evening!
