   Burger was raw, fries soggy, service really late ( served customers who came in after we did) drink tasted watered down. Wait staff said they were having trouble with bartender and kitchen….

   Where to start? I guess at the beginning. When we walked in, we were not “greeted”, but instead aggressively asked “do you have a reservation?” - no hello, no smile, no welcome. It didn’t get better. Yes, we did have a reservation and we were seated. But that was it. No water, no menus, no server to say “I’ll be right with you…” Nothing. For 20 long minutes. The restaurant was not at capacity, nor was the bar - I would say about half full. We watched 3 people working very hard, but spinning their wheels: overwhelmed bartender who looked like he was going to cry, the “greeter” was also bussing tables and running food, and one server for the whole place. We gave up. As we left our seats to find dinner elsewhere, the gentleman at the table next to us miserably said “you are making the right call”. Indeed.

   Unbelievably bad service. 10 min wait for a menu. Another 10 to be asked if we wanted WATER - then it took all three wait staff to find a bottle of Perrier. We tried to order a bottle of white wine and were informed that there was NO WHITE WINE - either in bottle or by the glass. That was later corrected by a more knowledgeable waiter. The preparation of the ‘Gulf fish of the day’ was complete wrong - other than the type of fish. The seafood pasta was basically linguine in a fishy sauce; the seafood was AWOL. When we arrived, there were 7 tables (including those at the bar) and 3 waitstaff yet they were flustered, incompetent and oblivious to the those waiting to order. The only saving grace was the salad. Otherwise easily the worst dining experience.

   The food and cocktails are good, and we loved our waitress! I will say the drinks took a long time (the appetizers and entrees all came to the table before the drinks did) so that was the downside. Otherwise very cute!

   Easier provided good recommendations. Servers handled a disruptive customer well who was quite vocal. Ordered prime hanger steak, medium well. 2 of the sections were nearly raw. What I was able to eat was fabulous. Sadly, I couldn't enjoy the entire meal. Fries and salad was a nice combination.

   This was the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant unfortunately. There were only 3 people on staff (and I asked about the kitchen staff, they said they were understaffed there too…) No one even knew we had a reservation. We were given nothing when we came in, no water at the table. Not sure what was going on, but it seems like this place isn’t going to be open for long with this type of management.

    Good decor and ambiance, but everything else falls short. 2 of our 4 entrees were wrong, and one entree came out 20 minutes after the first 3. The crispy cauliflower appetizer was pure mush for texture, although the flavor was decent. I felt bad for the bartender who also doubled as the waiter for most of the restaurant since the other waitress seemed dazed and confused.

    Service was very slow for a nearly empty night. The margarita and old fashioned were very weak so we switched to red wine which was chilled....and then the food finally came out after we finished 3 drinks when we ordered before even getting the first drink. The fish was supposedly red fish but was so small for $34. When I first saw it I immediately said I'm sending it back. The waitress said she would comp it. I ate one of the 2 sides and one bite of fish that I literally had to spit out it because it was soooo bad. My friend ordered the hangar steak medium and it was rare. When we finally got the bill she only took 20% off my meal and I told her it was wrong but didn't have time to wait for a fix. I would never recommend this for lace for food or drinks!

    They were out of several menu items, and the service was incredibly slow (there were three waiters/bartenders and only five parties - four of which were two-tops and the fifth was a party of four). Even the menu items that they did have were being made with substituted items (catfish instead of red snapper, cornbread muffins instead of skillet cornbread, etc.).

    We found Laurel Oak unexpectedly while walking toward our hotel and we are happy we did! Both the service and the food were excellent. We ordered the BBQ Shrimp starter as well as the Burrata and they complimented each other well. The Shrimp was very rich and flavorful while the Burrata paired with pickled shallot and peppers was a fresh balance. My husband ordered the Duck entree while I had the Gnocchi and both were great.     Really excellent French influenced restaurant, just outside the confines of the French Quarter in the Central Biz Dist. Food was really good, lots of flavor that appeals to a more refined pallet. The environment is fun and chic leading to great ambience. We will be back and highly recommend!!!

    The food is absolutely incredible. We didn’t leave anything on our plates. Staff was very friendly but our server was just very very new and it took a long time to close out. Would absolutely recommend it and we will be back.

    If you’re looking for a quiet place, less crowds, and good service, this is the spot. It’s only a few blocks off Canal St. The food was very good. Definitely recommend it.

    Food was mediocre, the bbq shrimp was very chewy and the fish was tough. The best thing from the meal was the mash potatoes. The service was slow and there wasn’t anyone in the restaurant.

    Not sure if we hit a bad night but our poor waitress was clearly the only one waiting on the entire restaurant. Took over an hour to get our drinks. When the food arrived, all three courses arrived at once - nearly 2 hours later. The hangar steak was not a hangar steak. The duck fat fries were not cooked in duck fat. If you’re going to put something on a menu, it should be served as described. We’re local New Orleanians so our standards may be higher than the usual tourists. But you gotta train your wait staff better about the menu and time the arrival of dishes so it doesn’t all come out at once. And get the drinks out. That’s your money maker. We only had 1 drink each. Would have had more if service wasn’t so slow. You’ve got a beautiful venue. Don’t waste it by working mediocre.

    We had a lovely dining experience! From when we walked into the door we felt extremely welcomed and accommodated, our server john was so kind and helpful, and the chef himself even came out abad apologized for one of our dishes coming out a bit late (they were short staffed for the holidays so it was totally understandable.) Looking forward to our next meal at laurel oak!

    Everything was fine, but nothing was great. Was loud at times, but not for too long. Food temp was poor on appetizer. Took a while to get the mains out, but not so long that it was worth bringing up. Services was fine as well, no major complaints, but a little slow. The baked beans under the duck could have come from a can and didn't add much to the dish. Overall, it was fine, but probably won't go back.

    We didn’t like this place at all. They were out of many of the items and the cauliflower tasted like it was from a package and fried. The salad dressing was simply mayo not Caesar. We couldn’t find the server to help us. Two of the items never made it to the table and we just cancelled it. We both ended up with stomach issues that evening and several days afterwards. I wish we were refunded our money.

    Four of us sat down last night for a nice meal. The appetizers were very delicious and I’d recommend all of them. The only issue was my steak and my friends duck, which were both recommended so we ordered both. The steak came black and blue, while the duck was raw. Definitely not what I was expecting after waiting 2 hours for my entree.

    My boyfriend and I tried this place for my first trip to New Orleans. We stayed at the Magnolia so it was super convenient being inside our hotel. John was our server and he was kind and personable. He ensured we enjoyed all of our food. Everything tasted great and arrived in a timely manner. We tried a variety of things but our top favorites were the Hush puppies and gumbo. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a tasty clean meal. The ambiance was also enjoyable here. We will be back in the future. Thank you for the service and experience :)
