Just under $100.00 for breakfast for 4
We were a party of 6 for their Thanksgiving dinner at the 5pm seating. The food quality was below average as many of the buffet items were cold and they ran out of some menu items that were advertised, which was disappointing as they charged $75 per person, which with a mandatory 18% tip plus tax came out to almost $100 per person, so definitely not a good value. On top of that, coffee was not even included and was a separate charge. Cannot recommend nor will we come back.
It was an interesting experience. The setup was in a conference room type area and there weren’t signs to really know that you were in the right place. Once inside it felt like you were at someone’s wedding. Our table for two had a table cloth that was too big and draped on the floor under the table. The food was setup as a buffet, serve yourself, but very tasty. I thought there were more options on the original menu i saw. The drinks were kinda pricy, we paid $7 for an Arnold Palmer. We didn’t have to cook or clean for Thanksgiving so it was a win.
Note that this review is specifically for the Thanksgiving dinner special. First, the dinner was not held in the lovely restaurant pictured in the promotion. It was held in a small ballroom, with dinner arranged in a buffet in the lobby outside. Although the table decorations helped a bit, it still felt like we were eating dinner at a convention. Even dimming the lights a bit would have helped with better ambience. Second, we were told someone would come by to take our drink orders. We alternated going to the buffet to get food yet no one ever came. My husband asked at the bar and was told someone would come to our table. No one did, so he went back. A couple of minutes later the hostess who had checked us in came to get our drink order. This was 20 minutes after we'd arrived and we didn't even have water to drink with our food. Thankfully our drinks were comped. Which leads to the only other positive of the night, and that was the food was good. We didn't try the appetizers, but the sweet potatoes and the roasted vegetables were both tasty, and they offered turkey, ham, and salmon. The turkey was perfectly moist, the ham had great flavor, and the salmon was a touch dry on the crust but smooth and flaky on the inside. Would not do the Thanksgiving special again due to the service issues but might consider the restaurant for a regular visit.
We were expecting to eat our thanksgiving dinner in your dining room where it would have been more of a cozy environment. The ham and turkey were very good, but the salmon was extremely dry. The only dessert that was available was pumpkin pie. For the price we were very disappointed.
Did not expect to be seated in a banquet room. Did not expect a buffet. They were slow to bring out/replenish food. They did not replenish dessert even after we asked. We paid $75 + tip to eat cafeteria food in a cafeteria atmosphere. Very disappointing.
From the start things went downhill very fast. The host disappeared for 17mins. Arrived for a 3pm reservation and seated just after 3:30. Was expecting the fabulous new renovation dining experience and instead, the dining experience was in a lame banquet hall, drapes on the walls, heavy tables clothes, banquet chairs. Felt like a high school prom. Far from the mid-century flamingo renovation I was expecting. Service was slow, had to hunt down water myself several times. Tables sat with dirty plates for long periods of time. Food wise, pretty good but nothing to rave about except coconut crusted shrimp and the turkey - both were spot on. Now the big problem…take out containers, large ones handed out to several folks and they didn’t hold back. I was next to one individual who dumped the entire platter of shrimp into his takeout container. They went to the buffet and cleared it out of the better food. Waited nearly a half hour for food to be replenished and it never happened. Why on earth would any restaurant that has a buffet hand out takeout containers? I might understand if your plate has a little left and you need the container, but to go to the buffet and clear out the food? Really disappointed and considering the cost of this i wont be back.
Wonderful, delicious Thanksgiving meal with lots of variety.
The food was wonderful. The staff was very attentive abs the manager came by our table and checked in on us. Overall, a very satisfying experience, worth every penny.
The menu is limited for breakfast , but what we did order was very good and a nice portion . A bit noisy insid. It was too cold to sit out side … we will try again in the summer
The restaurant space is attractive not so good if you like tasty, enjoyable food.
What an absolutely amazing experience! The atmosphere is so peaceful and calming with views of the pool and lush grounds. The service and server were attentive and friendly. We loved the food too. Can’t wait to come back!
We felt the inside was a bit noisy but the staff quickly set us up for outdoors. It was lovely.
We came to hear Faith Ako and were blown away by the tasty food.
Beautiful remodel of this iconic property, calm and serene ambiance, but classy and hip! Friendly staff! Server Rianna (Ray) attended to all our needs perfectly. Our lunch - ahi poke salad, soba noodle salad, and sweet potato fries - was delicious and filling. A lovely experience!
Terrific waiter, fabulous atmosphere, delish food....what more could we want!
This place was great, the only reason I gave it lower stars was that we sat for almost an hour before our food came out. That is never great, but there wasn't even an acknowledgement that it was taking a really, really long time. Once it came, it was great, and we loved the hotel and everything else. I just hope if I go back it will be a little speedier.
Service was just awful. There was one server who was handling the entire restaurant. She was great but you could see her frustration.
The burger was ok, nothing to get excited about.
Great decor, had a 1960’s vibe. Menu was unique, food was tasty.
Everything we ordered was yummy. I had the seared ahi and will go back for it. A couple had the various burgers and all were excellent. Sweet potato fries, Brussels sprouts, and calamari also all excellent. Great addition to the Santa Rosa food scene!
The steak was just OK. Lots of fat. The arugula salad was good. I was disappointed in the bill over 100.00 for 1 person. Next time I'll try the chicken.
Wonderful ambiance, great service and food!
Fun atmosphere and good food. We enjoyed a good Mai Tai too. It’s our second time here and we will be back. The service, however, was not that great. I’m sure it’s due to staffing issues as a result of the pandemic, though. The service issues were: no serving utensils for shared food (we had to ask for something to serve the Brussels sprouts with, and then they brought a teaspoon). In addition, the waitstaff were less than attentive. Otherwise, a vey positive experience!
Very pleasant setting.
Service exceptionally good.
Nice style and decor
Lovely outdoor area
The renovated hotel and especially restaurants are amazing. You have to come sit on the patio and people watch. The bibimbop dish was the star of the night. I’ve had this Korean dish in actual Korea, and this one is on point!
Great outside ambience and renovated look., unique menu choices, good service.
First time in for diner since renovations
It looks better i suppose , but there is still a few outdated deco .
Loved the lobby area !
We sat outdoor and enjoyed cocktails (very good) , a burger , bibimbap and scallion pancakes.
All 3 dishes were ok , the coconut rice of the bibimbap had no coconut flavor whatsoever .
FOH staff could use a little smile, from host stand to runner or server , they don't really make you feel welcome.
Even with mask , it is easy to know !
Outdoor sitting could use a few candles or better lighting
Great food and service! Love the retro vibe. Definitely recommend.
Although there were plenty of dining tables available, the four of us were seated at two cocktail tables.
The bowl I had contained 2-3 Korean style ribs and TONS of rice. It was so hot that you had to transfer food from the hot bowl to a plate in order to eat it.
I would recommend the ahi tune or chicken breast instead.
Found a treasure in our home town . Always suspicious of hotel food, but brunch was delicious. Ambiance wonderful. Might be our go to restaurant!
Beautiful space and good food! Very cool hangout vibe. Great cocktails too. Will definitely be back.
Great people watching, great food, great cocktails, what more can you ask for.
We were very impressed with the decor, the service, and the food/beverages. Several times members of the staff came over to ask how our overall stay was and if we were happy and enjoying ourselves. Some members of the staff are on the young side and a bit inexperienced (I spent years in the service industry so I have an eye for these things) but they made up for their lack of experience with friendliness and attentiveness. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Lazeaway and enjoyed every meal very much. Our dining experience was definitely a highlight of our stay.
Nice remodel! Food was good but my waffle with chicken was cold. I would probably give the restaurant another try because they are new.
Very noisy, so not a relaxing place to eat!
Best server, great drinks and excellent food! I can’t wait to return.
The bipimbap and tamarind chicken were delicious! Our server Shannon was delightful
Nothing special. Their signature chicken sandwich was nothing great - average at best. No need to go back
It was a lovely day ,the poolside dining is great, the inside bar/dining would have been good also . Their recent renovation of the whole hotel is outstanding, although I always enjoyed the old Flamingo, too. Service was friendly, and accommodating. The menu was an interesting mix and we both found dishes we liked. Going on the weekend for lunch only afforded us the brunch menu, I would have preferred full options so next time it will be weekday. It was overall very enjoyable and relaxing, I'll be back
I don't like that I have to choose "energetic" for the loud noise level. Not energetic. It was unpleasantly LOUD, with the bar right in the middle and the bartending constantly shaking the drink shaker as loud and long as possible. Just awful. We could hear voices from clear across the room; there apparently was no thought given, design-wise, to keeping the sound from echoing and bouncing around the room. It made conversation with my friend really difficult. There were no quiet tables -- all were noisy. They are either right by a door that keeps opening/closing, and/or the hostess station, or the hideously loud bar. Ugh.
It was also really cold. We finally asked the waiter to see if the AC could be adjusted. The outside temp -- I checked -- was 66 degrees. It was windy outside, and cool. Why crank the AC up so high?
The food was quite good. But sadly, we won't return due to the physically unpleasant dining room, with noise and cold.
