Enjoy a taste of France at Le Baratin, 1600 Dundas West, with a unique menu and an enchanting atmosphere.
We offer 2 setting every night; The first dinner service from 5:30 through to 6:30 pm is a maximum of 2 hours dinner experience.
For BRUNCH we do not take reservation - walk-in only, from 10 am till 3:30 pm.
Take an imaginary plane in the evening with the culinary experience of our French inspired menu.
Food prepared at Le Baratin is indeed classic with a modern twist. Classic in a sense of ‘old school’: our sauces are all made in-house, with a veal-based stock. These days, that is very rare.
For Brunch, the Croque Monsieur is a must-have. French peasant, or street food, is uniquely reinvented here.

    My 3rd time there and I never disappoint me. As usual, fantastic service, friendly but not intrusive. But the food… exquisite. I started with the brandade which was the exact mix of potatoes, cod and herbs. Saltiness was on point. For the main, I continued with the cod, cooked perfectly, flaky and juicy. It is by far one of my favourite restaurant in Toronto. Can’t wait to be back.

    This is a great spot to enjoy classic French food for a great price. Their prix fixe 3 course meal will leave you feeling very satisfied. I had the house cured gravlax and homemade Boursin to start which was very delicious. For my main I had the steak frites, which was perfectly cooked. The frites were maybe a bit too salty but still delicious. I was almost too full for dessert but I tried the lemon trifle, also delicious. Will be returning soon!

    It's a cosy and intimate spot. When I booked on open table, I was not given the option to eat inside, only curb-side patios were available. However, when we got there, there was plenty of space inside. So call them if you can't get indoor seating online! Food was delicious. I thought the beet salad was just ordinary, but the rest of the meal: duck breast with port wine sauce, pate and a potato & cheese tart-like dish, was delicious. Great for a casual dinner out.

    Very competent French bistro fare. The small menu offers a best-of popular French Bistro choices. A limited selection of wines by the glass. The waiters are nice and very casual. We were sternly reminded that there is a second seating when we were not ready to order right away.

    A true gem in the city's west end. Service is gracious and attentive. Felt like a welcomed guest in this intimate bistro. A true taste of France in Toronto. This is the bistro that others strive to become. Thank you to the staff at Le Baratin for a memorable anniversary dinner.

    The best French restaurant in town! I booked for comparatively large group and they did everything to make our experience great!! The food is top notch, the price is very reasonable, and the service is great. What more can you ask for? All the friends I brought there enjoyed the night and said they would definitely go back in the future!

    What an excellent experience! I’ve been wanting to go for a while because of a Parisienne girl I met once who recommended this gem. Well she was definitely right! I’m not sure you’ll find better value for the quality anywhere in the city. The beet salad was perfect and plentiful. The arctic char and risotto was superb! My friend loved the mussels appetizer special as well. Will definitely return!

    Excellent value. My husband and I both got the 3-course prix fixe. Everything was delicious - cocktails, steak frites with suggested wine pairing, cuttlefish starter, creme brûlée. Service was efficient and friendly but not obtrusive. We would definitely eat here again!

    The food at Le Baratin was alright, but not spectacular. We found our plates to eat a little oily / greasy (we ordered the charcuterie and squid as apps, and the duck breast and steak frites as mains) and the duck was also a bit dry for my liking. The value of the meal was pretty good, as we had both apps and mains for around $50 per person, but I'm not sure I would come back as there's so many other restaurants in Toronto to try.

    The food is usually fantastic, but I think we went on an off night. The lamb seemed pressure cooked, which is fine, but not when it's also lacklustre/ under seasoned. V. disappointing compared to the usual high standard I've had in the past. I think it would be a good idea to serve bread as so many of the dishes come with a good amount of sauce.

    Very nice service. We ordered potato salad, and gravlax for appetizers. They both taste very good. For the main, we ordered steak and duck breast. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare and very juicy the inside, however I will prefer a stronger sauce and a heavier searing on the steak. The duck breast had the same problem. Cooked perfectly but the flavor was not memorable for me, maybe a punch more salt or spice will be great. Overall, great experience.

    We had an excellent meal. The appetizers were shared by everyone. Two of us had steak fries and the other person had Cornish hen. All were great. The desserts were good but perhaps unnecessary. This was our third visit. We have never been disappointed.
