Enjoy a taste of France at Le Baratin, 1600 Dundas West, with a unique menu and an enchanting atmosphere.
We offer 2 setting every night; The first dinner service from 5:30 through to 6:30 pm is a maximum of 2 hours dinner experience.
For BRUNCH we do not take reservation - walk-in only, from 10 am till 3:30 pm.
Take an imaginary plane in the evening with the culinary experience of our French inspired menu.
Food prepared at Le Baratin is indeed classic with a modern twist. Classic in a sense of ‘old school’: our sauces are all made in-house, with a veal-based stock. These days, that is very rare.
For Brunch, the Croque Monsieur is a must-have. French peasant, or street food, is uniquely reinvented here.

    Our first time at Le Baratin as we were going to a show at Lula Lounge across the street. It was amazing. Classic French food cooked well with simple ingredients. Too many “French” restaurants these days are trying to reinvent or modernize traditional French food. I don’t want deconstructed dishes or modern takes. There is a reason that these dishes have lasted for 150 years! Le Baratin is like the French bistro you remember going to in that little town in France. Service was gracious and efficient. Prix fixe was a good value. The restaurant was packed on a Monday night and I know why. We will definitely return. If you are a fan of French food you need to visit this restaurant.

    My favourite restaurant!! We’ve been eating here for many years and it is consistently excellent!! One of those gems where the owner remembers their loyal clientele!!😋

    An excellent meal with great service. My wife's steak was a little too rare for her, but they quickly fixed that and she thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Sadly it was not a good experience. Duck breast was cold and tough … we mentioned to the manager but he didn’t do anything about it. Wine (Red) served cold directly from fridge I guess there was a problem with the extraction system since we ended up smelling like the kitchen The profiteroles were good, The overall experience was poor, we had high expectations after several recommendations but I wouldn’t go back

    Sorry if you didn't enjoy your dinner at Le Baratin. We offered you to redo the duck breast for you, but you said it was not necessary...! We always try to fix any mistake or error but there is nothing we can do when people complain the next day online. And regarding wine, no the red wine doesn't come form a fridge at all, but something called "wine cooler" where the proper temperature for red wine is 64F (18C) !

    Other than being bruskly told to go away by the owner, when we arrived 10 minutes early, the subsequent arrival, service and meal was lovely. One might consider how they speak to patrons if they want them to return.

    Always great to go back there. The restaurant is small, noisy and typical of French bistros. Great service and excellent food. Overall a great place to share a meal with friends. Would not recommend it for a romantic dinner.

    It was my and my wife’s first visit, we came with our friends one of whom tried it twice with her friend and last night with her husband. Everything was delicious and the service calm and professional, definitely will go back!

    A delightful experience. Cozy room, pleasant lighting, first-rate service. Steaks cooked perfectly, best escargot we’ve ever had, excellent Bordeaux and delicious desserts. This is not a cheap night out, after all it is Toronto in 2023, but is excellent value and memorable.

    Excelent food and wine. We really liked the food and we are planing to return. We had only one problem: the cold air coming from the street when the door got open. Bad for us that we are seniors! Sorry! Unfortunately they didn't change us to a table further from the door.

    My gnocchi was extremely hot. While it was delicious, I had to wait over 10 minutes to be able to start eating it. Otherwise, everything was incredible!

    From start to finish the meal was amazing. I made a reservation for 5 to celebrate my birthday, not knowing what to expect, and Le Baratin did not disappoint. The food was very rich and full of flavour. The restaurant is cozy and intimate perfect for a small group or a date. Highly recommend this dining experience.

    Sorry to say but we were very disappointed. This restaurant was reco by my customer and I had the steak dinner and my tummy has been very upset. I did not even finish my dinner. I had about 3 bites. And the waiter was not even attentive and asked me if my food eas satisfactory. We spend $200 and not worth it. I Left hungry. I would like a refund please.

    We had a wonderful dinner at Le Baratin — both food and service were impeccable. We were planning to have two courses but were having such a lovely time we went for dessert as well. The music was perfect and we could easily talk — which seems harder and harder to find in Toronto. I have been recommending to anyone who will listen, and can’t wait to go back.
