Le Colonial is a celebration of the seductive spirit and vivid flavors reminiscent of Saigon in the 1920s, located in the heart of one of America’s largest and most diverse cities.
A lavish downstairs dining room is adorned with period photography, overhead fans and leather banquettes, and flanked by a Parisian-Style sidewalk café. A dramatic staircase leads to a second level lounge, where a large bar, mahogany millwork and plush seating create the perfect atmosphere for cocktails and light fare.

Dress Code: Business Casual
No athletic wear or athletic attire, including designer athletic line of any kind and model, beach flip flops or any beach attire, tank tops (men), cut-offs, sweatpants, exposed undergarments, and excessively revealing clothing for indoor and outdoor dining. Food was excellent, but wish we were informed that the meal didn’t come with a side. Would have gladly ordered one, just didn’t know we had to order it separately. Also the service was not up to par with the price tag of the meal. We had to get the attention of the waiter each time we needed something. Felt like the experience was more about getting the attention of the staff, instead of sitting down and enjoying the moment.

I understand that it can somehow be misleading, especially when not provided with a menu. I made a reservation for my wife’s 60 birthday. The restaurant was packed and extremely noisy. We were seated at the table that was so tight. My wife was seated back to the wall and I was seated back to the isle where all waiters were squeezing between my chair and the other person sitting at the round table. The waiter was fast and busy. He told us what was money worth and what was cheaper than the other dishes. We didn’t care about what’s cheaper and what’s worth to try. We wanted our time to choose a dish and pair a nice cab to it. The place was so tight, crowded and noisy, I moved to sit close to my wife because I couldn't stand waiters squeezing between me and other lady every minute with no word. We stood up and left. Terrible experience, terrible service.

Se haven’t been here in ages and that’s all bc all the new restaurants happening all around houston but the food and ambiance here ibas always been great. They have a new menu and everything we had was delicious. Our server was also great. We will come back when weather is nicer and west in their new and bigger patio

this resyaurant was popular back twenty or thirty years ago in New York and its Houston outpost has followed with its French/Indochinese decor. As a result, it is a pleasant place to eat. It is not the best vietnamese food in Houston but it is certainly one some of the best decor. It also has a handsome bar upstairs and a very nice patio area to dine when it is not so hot. I am not an expert on Vietnamese cuisine, but if one is seeking authenticity I would go elsewhere. The food here is good but not extraordinary. (Then again, the word extraordinary is not one I would use for almost any restaurant in Houston.) Patrons are paying for the decor and the location because prices are high for a Vietnamese restaurant, and the menu hasn't changed in forever.
