A lavish downstairs dining room is adorned with period photography, overhead fans and leather banquettes, and flanked by a Parisian-Style sidewalk café. Our meal was delicious today. We chose off the Houston Restaurant Week menu. Be sure to read the menu well as some of the items have "supplemental" charges including desserts. The ambiance was excellent as always but service was a bit slow. Took us 2 hours to complete our meal and get the check which is rather long. Hospitality staffing is an ongoing issue. Will not keep us from returning!

As always, we enjoyed a superior dining experience from start to finish ! The noise level was high, but that’s to be expected during Restaurant Week and it did not affect our experience. Bravo/Brava staff !

Everything was very good, but the prices are quite high. Cocktails were around $20 each. While the food was probably some of the best Vietnamese I’ve had in Houston (which is saying a lot), there are places that offer similarly delicious menu items but at 1/3 the price (and minus the upscale ambiance). The serving sizes are large and we were all satisfied in the end. It was a good deal for Houston Restaurant Weeks, but I probably won’t be back anytime soon.

We went for a pre-set menu lunch as a part of the Houston Restaurant Week. As a part of the deal it was priced at $25 per person and offered to pick one meal from each of the three categories. It turned out that many options on the menu were +5, or +10 extra. It would have been fair if there was many included items and a few extra, but that was not the case. For example there was only 2 deserts and one of the +5 extra. Drinks are very overpriced, double short espresso is $6, non alcoholic cocktails 12. Main course does come with a side and you have to pay for it extra. The food was great, but it left me feeling like I was nickeled and dimed all the time.

We made a reservation for 715pm. When we arrived we were told they were fully committed and would seat us in the lounge or bar area. We got to the table and it was a low cocktail table that we couldn’t get our legs under. We told them we needed a regular table since we were planning to have a full dining experience. We waited a good amount if time, and never heard back after ordering drinks. We asked a server to follow up on a potential table. They checked with the hostess and reiterated that they were fully committed. So we closed out and left. Disappointed because we’d wanted to try this place for a long time and were excited to check them out. If the establishment grants a reservation, it should honor it. And if it can’t honor it, it shouldn’t grant it. Also shouldn’t assign guests to a bar or patio area without their knowing and acknowledgment. On open table and resy other establishments classify the different types of tables so if the only table available is in the bar or patio or non traditional dining you can know ahead of time and take the table if you’re ok with it. The bar area was kind of cool just not what were looking to do that night. All of the above I feel is just poor reservation management and forgivable. But I Don’t think we’ll be back because none of the staff seemed to care about our experience whatsoever. It was kinda like eh were fully Committed sucks for you kind of vibe from ALL staff. No management came by. Nothing. We did end up having a great meal at a fine dining place not far so the night was not lost.

The restaurant is beautiful and the staff is very attentive. Although the ingredients, preparation, and presentation were very good, I was hoping for a more authentic and unique experience. I would dine here again, modifying my expectations now that I know it is a fusion restaurant.

The food at Le Colonial never disappoints. I’ve never had a single item from the menu that wasn’t outstanding. We tried the whole fried fish this time and it was incredible. So much flavor. The best I’ve ever had!

Very poor check in experience as it seemed the restaurant was overbooked. There was confusion regarding my reservation and where I requested to be sat. We were seated 15 minutes after the original reservation time. Beyond that, the service in the strange area my group was sat in was very slow and somewhat unfriendly. The area was very loud, and the tables were too close together; thus, disrupting private conversation at my table. And, unfortunately, the food was very mediocre. This experience was nothing like my previous experience at Le Colonial approximately 1.5 yrs ago. Last night, my reservation was for business dinner purposes, and - quite frankly - I am embarrassed by my decision to dine at Le Colonial.

Overall good meal. Had the crispy vegetable rolls and the shrimp stir fry. Both were strong items. The service was horrible and impacted the overall experience. We had to flag down the waiter for anything we needed and had to ask multiple times for the same thing.

We choose to go to Le Colonial to celebrate a birthday. Although we have been there before, we were not disappointed. The service was great, the food was outstanding, we got to try a wine we were unfamiliar with thanks to the sommelier. I’m a very good cook and enjoy it, but I love going to a place where we get to experience food unlike anything I prepare and to enjoy it is a wonderful atmosphere.

I love Le Colonial. The tip of the year is to try their special rice. It is absolutely fabulous as an entree or as a side. The Bo Luc Loc is my go-to and, I hear, their most popular dish overall.
